The next three to four weeks have to be one of my favorate times of the year, The leaves have turned and are all a blaze and just hanging onto the tree for one more warm day. The air is still warm enough to be outside and move around but just cool enough not to sweat all over.

Football is in full swing, farmers are taking in thier crops, perfect time to hit a tree stand for deer hunting, which are approching thier rut in about two weeks, give or take a few days. Havent been out hunting as much as I would like but other matters have needed attention, hopefully in the next few weeks I'll get out and miss a few bucks....

This time of year we fire up the corn bread, chilli, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin pie, pumpkin pancakes, yep love pumpkin....

Hopefully this weekend I can corral my kids and make them take a walk in the woods with dad, anyway other than the week of July 4th which is normally a week of party'en at the camp ground this is my favorate time of the year.

I got that smell of leaves/autumn in the air during a walk the other day. I love that smell.

It is beautiful this time of year. Tomorrow being a late game, if the weather cooperates, I'll take the Z out for a nice drive in the country... may as well, it will be in it's bag and in the garage in another week or so...

That sounds like how October is up here. November sucks I'm afraid, clay. Lots of chilly & rainy days where I'm at, the leaves will be gone very soon and snow is on the way.
blah....

We sound like a couple of 80's Lynard Skynard fans

Aaahhhh...

I've been up to Mattawa, Ontario (45 minutes east of North Bay) in October, and it is absolutely unbelievable for the fall experience.

This is most definitely my favorite time of year. Only bad thing is it doesn't last long enough.

Buddy's stepdad owns a "getaway" resort property up there with cabins on the Mattawa river (http://www.lauberge.ca/). Just above Algonquin and Champlain Nat'l Parks. The place is tucked back about a mile or more past the closest road (a simple two lane road) so the wildlife is amazing. Grouse, deer, moose, bear roam freely.

Canada,,, what a beautiful country... I used to go fishing just north of Toronto.. Maybe 5 or 6 times a year, but Exwife and her family (me included) would go to Lovesick Lake near Peterborough Ontario.. I think the actual name of the town was Burliegh Falls (sp).. I can't remember the name of the lodge we stayed at all the time, but it was right on Lovesick lake,,

Then a number a years after that, a good friend of mine and I went fishing in northern Quebec...

I'm gonna spell this totally wrong, but I think it was the La Verendrey Reservation,, north of Quebec... Beautiful and pristine.. Didn't like the cops up there however.. they just don't like Americans in Quebec at all or so it seems,,

I did find something out that I hadn't known till then,,,, Cul de Sac means Dead End in French...... LOL

They must speak a different French up there. I think "Cul" is another word for bottom. De Sac is "of a bag" ... it would literally translate to "bottom of the bag".
