I was gonna put this in the Tailgate Lot but I'm sure it was gonna be seen as smack, but I'm completely serious about this.
Some girl I know is a Steelers fan and might invite me to the game next week. I don't wanna breathe the fumes of that awful city (serious). So if I go I'm thinking about bringing a gas mask or one of those dust masks (most likely a dust mask) so I don't have to take in the toxic air.
But of course, people would get pissed and probably throw things at me...so what should I do?
EDIT: This is obviously a joke for the actual circumstances, but I'm seriously considering bringing a mask as a joke.

Put it to you this way -- if I can make it back from the game in Cleveland without the use of a gas mask, so can you......x2. But just to be on the safe side, wear the gas mask anyways. For extra protection, stuff a tube sock in your mouth first, two if you really want to play it safe......and if you're really germaphobic (and I highly suspect you are), insert tissues up your nose, and seal it up with heavy duty nose plugs. Place gas mask on face, and you're good to go. Oh, and don't worry about the Steeler fans throwing things at you...we don't do that stuff. There will be some pointing and laughing, but that's as far as it goes....

The kind of mask your talking about, one of those white ones, is called a particulate mask and would do absolutely nothing to protect you from "toxic fumes"...

If you really are "completely serious" than you have much bigger problems than breathing air in Pittsburgh.
If you're not, I would go with the gas mask. Everytime the wind shifts and comes from the east, ( I live five miles from the state line) I have to round up the family and put them in the bomb shelter. There is a reason so many people from Pennsylvania are demented, it's in the air.

Are you talking about the fumes from the rivers, or fumes from the women? A little Vicks under the nose should do the trick.

Thanks for letting us know you have Never been out of Cleveland, for if you had been to Pgh in the Past 25 yrs or so, this thread wouldnt exist. Little clue for you. The Bad smell you allude to, went out with the mills many moons ago Sherlock. Course, short of that, you could always Google up some JPEGS of Pitt, as that will give you a good enough idea of just how far you are reaching here.
Looks like someone has Much time on their hands, so making something up will have to do it seems.

To set aside the smack for a minute, Pittsburgh is very nice. We drive there to go to the science museum (right next to that giant dump you call a stadium ) and have spent many afternoons driving around the area. Cities like Cleveland and Pittsburgh still get a bad rap. The things is, the women of Pittsburgh do stink. Maybe because they don't use deodorant on those braided arm pit hair.

Yeah, you definitely don't. That's why in 99 when Cleveland beat Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, 4 Steeler fans were going to beat up a guy on the Clipper after the game untilme and a few other Cleveland fans came over. Worst part was, the guy they were going after had his 6 year old son with him. I'm not saying that all Pittsburgh fans are like this, but don't completely rule them out as never doing anything besides "pointing and laughing."

pointing and laughing is about all that will happen if you go to the game. I went two years ago (thanks to christyk selling her tickets to me) and mostly i got a lot of section chants of "Cleveland Sucks" and such...there was one overly drunk guy that pushed me into a wall but to stereotype all their fans that way is ridiculous. The thing is, there are also Browns fans, along with every other teams fans, that get overly drunk and do stupid stuff at the games.
Also, if you are going to the game. Be prepared to only see a handful of Browns fans the entire game. I probably saw between 50-100 total browns fans the entire time i tailgated and was in the stadium

Can you google a scratch-n-sniff? How is he going to know what the air smells like from a picture?
and PS: I know you can't google a scratch-n-sniff... or GM would never have time to post here...

I didn't try to stereotype them all as anything. I even plainly pointed out that for the most part, the fans aren't like that, but there are the fans that get out of hand, as with all teams. The way christy put it was that it nevers happens in Pittsburgh, which is simply not true.

Well that would have been a good come back if i was MARRIED. (NOT) Now if you said one of my Girlfriends, they would have laughed in you're face, but you just assumed and we all know what that means.
As for you're nads hanging from some girls rearview mirror, congrats to her for helping protect society.

Sorry to see they keep turning you down. Try cleaning the drool off your chin, putting in your teeth, wearing your eyepatch, covering the hump on your back, washing your hair, using some mouthwash, taking a shower (with soap), and stop asking every woman you pass on the street.
In your case it won't help, but at least it's a start.

No Shelp, at those times it called terms of endearment. You know kind of like when I refer to your girlfriend as Mom. (it's an age thing)
Actually we are engaged, so you see, at this point, she's half girlfriend, half wife. At least that's the way i prefer to see her. Now i know your going to have a hard time with this, so i'll give you a week or so to sort it out, K
BTW- Sounds like someone may haved skipped their med's again
