Ok, I don't know if this needs its own thread or not but I figure it would be a good topic for discussion.. For the better part of the last 7 years we have been getting killed by the media. We have been clamoring for respect and for them to give us some credit.. Most have stated that we win and play good sound football the respect will come..

Well fellow Dawgs we are no longer a punch line for the media. For examples, I heard Sean Salisbury, someone we have all killed on this board a lot, say and I quote "Cleveland will roll this weekend agains Seattle." He has always made statement that it is good for our team to be good and that the fans of the Browns deserve to have a team that wins.. He really gave our team mad props...

Along with him, we are getting a good amount of press and respect from ESPN, CNNSI, FOX, and NFL Network..

Anyway we are quick to kill them when we get dissed so I thought I would give them props for giving us the respect we deserve.

Thoughts??

It actually kind of makes me a little nervous.

I don't want to be this year's SF or NYJ. The media was tripping all over themselves last year with those two teams, and I kept asking myself why. They both had weak schedules and were making the most of it.

Which is kind of what I see us doing. With this defensive unit, we'd easily only have maybe 2 wins if we had a tougher schedule.

The only thing I'll say is different for us than SF and NYJ of last year is I see real bonafide stud-like talent on the O side of the ball, unlike those two teams.

Really we have a better chance of becoming the Bengals than we do SF or NYJ, but I still think the media attention is TOO much.

It's all about the offense. They never mention a thing about our 32nd ranked defense.

LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

I finally got to watch this weeks Inside the NFL on HBO.. Oddly, Collinsworth took the Seahawks, everyone else took the Browns.

One of them, I think Marino was saying that something must be wrong with Alexander because he's being brought down by Arm Tackles,, And he said that the Oline for the Hawks is in a bit of trouble as well,,

So for what it's worth, Dan Marino, Bob Costas and Chris Carter all think we will win this game....

1st who gives a crap what the media says about us, good or bad. I have said this so many times I will only give a good back door push about who says what about us when it actually adds wins and loses to our record. Until then their opinions mean little to me.

I agree I do not want to see us become SF or the Jets, but everybody knew last year the Jets had a weak schedule. The fact that we were able to beat 2 teams in our own conference gives me the confidence that we will not be the next Jets/ SF team. We play in the tuffest division inj football. Now we may not have the best team in football in our conference, but like days of old we as a conference spend a great deal of time beating up on each other, and the real competition for us at this stage is within our conference, that says quite a bit, about the quality of the conference, and about the progress we have made.

The defense has garnered some negative attention, but when you have an offense like the Browns have of course it's going to be the focus of attention. You and most likely the entire board would bitch endlessly if they gave the attention to the defense especially when we win. They'll get the attention the minute we lose, count on it !!
