So, my dog somehow made it to abc13 facebook page. Wife dresses him up for Halloween every year. he just takes it. but you can see, in his eyes, he's all "can this be done yet?" https://www.facebook.com/13abc/photos/10159404042901897

may need to scroll a little bit. He's the mail man.

Hahaha! That's freakin' awesome bro! And yes, you can see it in his eyes lmao.

My Gabby has gotten better over the years. She used to bite and tear at the costume 'til she got it off. Now she just lets momma dress her in whatever, sort of, still has the look in her eyes like "what in theee hell, mom?!". Hilarious.

Little nine pound minpin. This year she was a Chicken Waffle lol.

I put a Santa hat on my old dog, a couple of years before he passed. His pic is still my avatar. (I just noticed that) He was really good about it, but he looked like he was being tortured. crazy

Yup. Dummy, and Hunter. He has 2 names he responds to. Before he got posted on the channel 13 page, wife and I were at the local highschool football game. She was showing people pictures and vid's of him. Then she started telling this one couple, friends of ours, how she has a raincoat for him to go outside if it's raining. And a warm coat she puts on him for when it's cold and he needs to go out, and little booties for him for when there's snow.

I looked at the husband and simply said "I don't put any of that stuff on him. I take him out/let him out like he's a dog. Cause......he's a dog. He can handle it."

Only leeway I give him is in the summer, on walks, or even to get the paper and mail: If it's super hot out, I let him walk in the yard/s. Not the asphalt.

So that’s Dummy? Lol....

Cute dog, but looks tiny in the pic. Small enough that a cat could beat the snot out of it. smile

20, 21 lbs depending on the day. A cat might be able to beat the snot out of him. But, that cat would have to get past Sammy the cat. My cat. Sammy's a tough dude. And it goes way back to how he even ended up here. Sammy and Dummy get along fine.

This vid would best describe Sammy:

From how he got here, to being caught under the garage door, to having a "cat" kick his ass, to him kicking a cats ass. A stoat on his back, gnawing on his spinal cord? Yup, he dealt with that. Killed the little sucker. (look up Stoats attacking on youtube) Hole in his ankle - his Achilles heal. Dud's tougher than snot. Follows me around like a puppy. And he's smart.

And he and Dummy get along. So, yes, a feral cat might take Dummy. I big feral cat - like a bobcat. But that animal would have to deal with Sammy as well.

Regardless, Dummy knows the comings and goings of our house. He would do all I ask of him, should some intruder come in: wake me up.

I also know he'd use all his 20-21 lbs of small dog to attack. All I ask is I get woken up, obviously, if it's at night.

Sammy and Dummy get along just fine, by the way.

But yes, Dummy is a small dog. That's what wife wanted. That's what wife got.

Have to admit i never heard of a stoat before. That's crazy.

We've had small dogs, too. Our last one was a yorkie-poodle mix. The current one is a small (15-20 lb) sheltie-poodle mix. I will say the current one is small, but she is feisty and extremely athletic. Good watch dog, too. If/when we move into a bigger house, I'd like to pair her with a bigger dog who doesn't shed, if possible. I'd feel a lot better off when I leave the family on work trips, but I will say - as an alarm system - she does just fine.

Since this thread is about a dog, figured I would other dog owners. Anyone else having a really hard time getting your dog 🐶 in to the groomers? I have two I have been using for about a year, if one is booked for awhile I would call the other. Now both are booked in to January, so I started calling around, after about 15 calls I finally found one next Saturday for my Aussie. Was really thinking about doing it myself if I couldnt find one.

We've been lucky. Going to a "Dog-o-mat" that gives you the option of having a person do it for you or stations where you can do it yourself. Always love it when the wife sends me to pick up our "sheltie-poo" after she's been freshly groomed with a bandana on and bows in her hair...I even get to bring the pink leash to boot!

We've not had a hard time, but we've been using the same one for about 4 4 1/2 years. Regular 6 or 8 week appointments. I just take him when my wife tells me to. He hates it. he literally shakes the whole way there. But, he's good for them.

That's just 1 more reason I like Sammy the cat 'better'. No grooming - until spring when he starts shedding. Goes from looking like a 15 -18 lb monster to looking like a 12 lb. rat. I do feed him a lot more this time of year, and through winter. he's constantly eating. Got get the fur growing, and the body fat up. Even in winter, he likes to be outside, unless it's too, too cold.

We haven't had a problem whatsoever. When we pick em up after being groomed we book the next session. 2 Miniature schnauzers. Mozart and Maxwell(Moe-n-Max). They're pretty regular as far time between each grooming. Been with the same groomer for years so.....

Same with their vet.. Busy vet but we've never had a problem with them as well.

Let this sink in..... On 12-31-23 it be will 123123.

That dog weighs 20 pounds??? I know a photo can be deceiving, but it looks like your wife could carry Dummy in her purse!

Legit 20 lbs. Maybe 21 lbs. No joke. Maybe the box in front of him hides his body?

20 lbs of pure doll when wife is home. 20 lbs of pure stupid when she's not (or when sooga's not here)

No way someone would break in and not get bit if my wife, or Sooga, were here. Just he and I? Eh, he'd let me know someone was here, and then he'd watch.

He is my wife's doll/best buddy. Sooga comes next. Then, way down the list, is me.

But yes, 20-21 lbs.

You should make your wife stop doing this to him.
That powder blue mail deliverer's costume is sucking his testosterone every minute it's attached to his body.

Dummy needs you on his 6...

I agree. If nothing else, go on the counter offensive and dress the little idiot up in a Army outfit or dressed as a Pirate, get him to growl a lot. While you are at it, feed him a lot of fat trimmings so he farts frequently.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

I accidentally knocked the fat dripping bucket off when I was walking by my smoker and some spilled on our patio and in our lawn. Maple was fart monster for days.

To you, and Clem: Couple years ago, wondering what Dummy would do if someone broke in, I put on clothes he'd never seen me in, and a mask. Let's just say he was as nasty as a 20-21 lb. dog could be. Wasn't any way I was getting close to my wife without him doing his 20 lb. darndest to stop me.

I do drop 'crumbs' for him. Wife gets mad at me. "If we get ants, it's YOUR fault." I just say "No, it would be Dummy's fault for not eating the crumbs. Plus, we don't have ants."

She's the one that 'drops' real food on the floor for him.

Plus, with Sooga gone, he gets to sit on the bar stool that used to be her's when she was home.
