I was watching something on one of the news networks last night on this topic, going over the most recent polls. They made the comment that in a new poll of likely Republican voters, their #1 concern wasn't religion, abortion, spending, etc. It was electability. The guy made the comment that this was the same mistake that the Democrats had made the past election, going with guys they thought would appeal to the middle and losing their base of support.
