I haven't seen anything indicating this was caused by a shooting. Why the misleading thread title?

Fake News aside, this is one reason I don't like festivals. The crowd makes me feel claustraphobic. Prayers to all who were hurt/killed.

Person. Told me, (so 3rd hand) that the report from tv was. A security guard felt a jab in their neck and had to be rushed to the hospital and narcan was given, and they found fentenol in them and a spot where the needle had hit their neck.
So, Entirely here-say.
I thought it was, a crowd trampling situation, not a shooting, but hadn't really paid attention.

I am not pointing a finger at you, but this is why tweets can be unreliable.

I get that Travis Scott should take some blame, but what about the organizers? The head of security? There are people other than the performer who failed even worse.

It's not twitter, it's the person tweeting. Don't run with a tweet from someone other than a verified reporter from a credible outlet.

Unfortunately, a verified account doesn't mean much either.

Scott could have stopped once he realized things were not right but he's relying on security and others to make those decisions. I would say it's more the responsibility of somebody else to make the decision to kill the audio than it is the performer so they could have relieved the pressure and got things straightened out. There are a bunch of things, it sounds like, that could have/should have been done differently. But when placing blame, let's not leave out the thousands of concert goers who just kept pushing forward to get 8 feet closer to the stage..

That is definitely true. It sounds like there were concert goers who were trying to get anyone to pay attention to what was happening, and they were being brushed off, it's very sad. I really hope people learn from this, because it could easily happen again.

I remember when it happened back in 1979 at a Who concert in Cincinnati. It seems human beings who are drunk and high are slow learners.

Yep, turns out she is exactly the group I thought she was in.

As Pit pointed out, this has happened periodically going back many decades, it's not a function of this new selfish "me" generation that people keep hearing about. It's been human nature for a long time.

Some people got knocked over, some people did stop to help and that just congested things more and many of them got knocked over. My guess is that many of the people doing the pushing in the crowd were probably unaware that people were on the ground 10 feet in front of them and they just kept pushing forward...
