Another aggravating thing about this is not only are we going to have to get a RB ready who has never played in our system, johnson is going to have to stay in on alot of third downs to pass block, increasing his chance of being injured. The Patriots not having to deal with chub, I would suspect ,will be run blitzing or pass blitzing on first and second down all game to try to force us into 3rd and longs and make us one dimensional. The Patriots on the other hand are not that good at running the ball so I would suspect we will be doing the same.

Too bad Hunt isnt ready to return. Johnson and Hill will have to make due (I expect Landry to fill into it some creatively too)

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

guys its fine if chubb doesnt play.

D'ernest is about to run through the defense as well. and the patriots defense doesnt have the backfield to cover our guys.

its gonna be a close game, but i bet we still go over 120 yards rushing as a team.

Not for nothing,, but the Pats are not the broncos. They have a pretty darn good D. Johnson won't shred them as easily.

My hope is Chubb will be back,, Chubb and Johnson make a good pair.

Actually, Denver has the better defense. Including against the run.

Wasn't Cinci just having covid issues? Hopefully the NFL is checking them to make sure the cheapskates aren't cutting corners.

Is it just me, or is Nick Harris really having a tough time staying available?

Yeah .. he hasn’t been available much, whether it’s injury or illness. I worry that he’s undersized and it might be tough for him to play a whole season

Nope, but it doesn't matter much. The guy is a wasted pick IMO. He isn't going to answer any bells even if available. Drafting or signing a center should be a high priority this next off-season since it is doubtful that Treeter remains on the team.

It's highly likely Tretter will be on the team next year. His salary actually reduces by $1.2M next season. An extension for Tretter will not surprise me.

One thing I worry about with Johnson: he isn’t great catching it out of the backfield. It seems very unnatural to him … and without Felton that eliminates a big time threat using the RBs and screen game

I would guess Landry plays out of the backfield a bit.

The guy we signed, Brian Hill, is a pretty decent catcher of the football. The problem, obviously, is that he is unfamiliar with the offense so putting him for pass protection, knowing when to get out into the pattern, or running a screen pass, which takes a good deal of precise timing, might be in question... but he can catch the football.

If they are vaccinated I believe it is infrequent. Unvaccinated everyday. If the team is in the “enhanced protocol” then everyone is tested everyday.

After John Kelly tested positive, it's likely they tested the entire team and that's how Chubb tested positive.

If that’s how they found out Chubb was positive, then that would likely mean he was asymptomatic. Maybe with therapeutics, we have a chance at getting him on Sunday.

Maybe. We'll see. I just think the guy is slowing down a bit, and even if his salary drops, I think we will still be looking to bring the OL cap number down considering we just handed out a tidy sum to both of the guards.

Maybe a bit, but not much more than what we have already seen. To me, if anything we will see more empty sets.

To me we might lean on the fullback position a bit more. More probable in maybe us a TE in that role.

Don't be surprised to see more tight end screens.

We got Janovich back at FB he is a reliable pass catcher and if need be could run the ball with our TE playing HB. but a lack of speed to stretch the field outside of the tackles. We just brought up this kid Bradley WR from the practice squad, wonder if he can run with the ball???

What is the status with Chubb anything official cause all I read/hear is "IF" Chubb is out. So there's a chance??? We can get somebody to play the position of RB and do OK but realistically there is no replacement for "CHUBB" or "HUNT" for that matter. Running through an open hole is nice but running through an open hole and create damage is another.

Small chance. He’s gotta test negative twice to be eligible.

The affected players have to test negative today in order to have any chance of playing Sunday. Negative today and tomorrow, fly to New England on their own for Sunday's game.

If Chubb gets his first negative test today, which means his second tomorrow would also likely be negative, I'll start the gofundme to pay for his plane ticket.

I wonder if there will be any release of info if there are initial negative tests today? Probably not, as I'm sure it will be regarded as a competitive advantage to say nothing until a second negative test is received. Fans wanna know!

I get it but I don't need to know. I could live with turning on the pre-game show and having them show the Browns warming up with Chubb taking hand-offs and catching passes. I would be fine with that.

I won't lie and say I expected the Phins to win. But giving the Rat Birds seven and a half points I thought was simply too much. As such I took the Phins and the points. Couldn't be happier about the Rat Birds loss. On that last Phins TD drive they ran the ball down their throats.

That doesn't change the fact that they ran the ball very well during that drive.

I'm not trying to be difficult but based on looking at the drive, they had 5 rushes for 11 yards on that drive.....
