I know I know,,, before anyone says it,, it's the fans voting and what the heck do we know anyway....LOL

From the Browns main site:

Crennel named coach of the week -- again
Jeff Walcoff, Staff Writer
11.09.2007
For the second time in nine weeks, Romeo Crennel has been voted the Motorola NFL Coach of the Week, the league announced Friday.

Crennel led the Browns to a 33-30 heart-stopping overtime victory over the Seattle Seahawks Sunday at Cleveland Browns Stadium. The Browns rallied from a 21-6 deficit to win the game.

During the win, Derek Anderson threw for a career-high 364 yards on 29-for-48 passing.

Crennel previously won coach of the week accolades for the team's 27-13 win over the Baltimore Ravens during Week Four.

Five other league-wide awards have been earned by the Browns so far in 2007.

Anderson was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week and was voted the FedEx Air Player of the Week during Week Two of the NFL season for his performance during a win over the Bengals. Jamal Lewis earned FedEx Ground Player of the Week honors that week as well.

Joshua Cribbs, meanwhile, was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Month for September.

Thanks to overwhelming support from fans, the Browns are 4-0 this seasonfor awards in which voting was conducted online.

Crennel was selected as Motorola NFL Coach of the Week from three finalists by voters on NFL.com. The other finalists were head coaches Bill Belichick of the Patriots and Sean Payton of the Saints.

In January, voting will be held on NFL.com to determine the Motorola NFL Coach of the Year.

Like I said, it's the fans voting so maybe the people in the know won't agree. But it's still nice for him to get some love....

Could the Browns have 4 Pro Bowlers on offense?

Joe Thomas
Josh Cribbs
Braylon Edwards
Kellen Winslow
Eric Steinbach
Derek Anderson

each has played themself into the conversation, and because as a unit they have performed so well, they will get added consideration...realistically if the browns go 5-3 in the second half each of these guys could be taking a trip to the 50th state come groundhog day

I'm pretty sure I heard on espn that one of the announcer thought he might be a decent candidate for Coach of the Year, since the Browns are doing sooo much better than anybody expected. Now I'm not saying he will win that, I'm sure he won't, the Packers are also doing way better than expected and I figure Dungy and Bellyache will be the front runners for that award, I'm just hoping we finish .500 or better! Would be nice to beat Pitt tomorrow but I'm not holding my breath! I think a W over Pitt would be our S.B. for this season!

If (big if) the browns make the playoffs I think he will easily be considered for Coach of the Year.

Jay, Dick Jauron, HC of Buffalo Bills might be considered a strong candidate also if his team can maintain it's performance. JMHO

Love to RAC win it though after all the hard times he has endured. Phil Savage could also be considered as Executive Of The Year.

Even more than an affirmation of Romeo's performance, this "contest" once again shows who the best fans in the NFL are...

First off, while any award is nice, an award that relies on online voting is not exactly up there with the Oscars. Not to mention that if we lay an egg today against Pittsburgh pretty much nobody is gonna remember this award. Honestly, they probably won't anyway.

Secondly, the sit and spin comment is a curious one. Just exactly who are these haters? If they post more than 5-6 times on here they're obviously Browns fans. Who else would waste the time? So why would a Browns fan hate our coach? Answer: They don't. They just disagree with you. But they also want the best for the team. As you do as well, I would guess. Thinking this player or that coach isn't what he'd like in that position doesn't make him a hater. It just means he has an opinion different from yours.

Something I think we forget on here quite a bit lately

Geesh Otto,,, did you think I didn't know that already,,, for cryin out loud, go read the very first line of the original post on this thread and you will see that I put little weight on it because it IS fan voting... so don't come at me as if your some kinda guru on the subject and know more than anyone else... it's not a as if this is a surprise ya know..

Secondly,, when I talk about those that are RAC haters, each and everyone of them know who I'm talking about... I don't answer to you..

As for sitting and spinning,.,.... they are welcome to do so... and you are welcome to join them
