A CNN producer was arrested by the FBI and accused of trying to recruit moms and their underage daughters for 'sexual training'

John Griffin, 44, was charged with three counts of using a facility of interstate commerce to attempt to entice minors to engage in unlawful sexual activity.

The indictment said Griffin used messaging apps like Kik and Google Hangouts to connect with people who claimed to be the parents of young girls. He tried to "persuade parents to allow him to train their daughters to be sexually submissive," the news release said.

In one incident described in the indictment, Griffin is accused of sending a mother from Nevada $3,000 to fly her and her 9-year-old daughter to visit him, and of engaging in "unlawful sexual activity" with the child.

On Saturday, CNN said Griffin has worked as a producer for the network for about eight years.

"The charges against Mr. Griffin are deeply disturbing," a CNN spokesperson said. "We only learned of his arrest yesterday afternoon and have suspended him pending investigation."

If convicted, Griffin faces anywhere from 10 years in prison to a life sentence on each count, the news release said.

I understand that anybody can go “well, look at Fox News” with all their internal scandals, but THIS year, CNN has been taking L’s left and right.

I listen to NBC in the morning (the today program) It's not one of those 24 hours a day hate fest networks. They don't appear to dislike anyone. What they do is report what happened yesterday and let you, the viewer, decide what it means.. I enjoy that news.

MSNBC, CNN, FOX, OAN, Brietbart and the like are all pushing an agenda. I don't waste my time with them.

Actually that blanket statement is 100% correct. When the same behavior has happened at multiple news outlets for years there's not really much to debate to be had. Maybe in the beginning there was but not now, that time has been over for quite a while.

Complicit are ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, FOX, MSNBC and more. They have propaganda running on all those channels. It certainly isn't journalism I know that. They like to present opinion as fact which it's not and then don't apologize for it.

This is absolutely false. We have plenty of groceries here. Fox is trying to create a panic and make people hoard (think toilet paper) to make Biden look bad.

It's absolutely irresponsible of them.

I wouldn't say shelves are bare, but the last couple weeks I noticed there weren't as many items. They pull everything to the front of the shelf, and there was not many, if any, items behind those.

But it seems to mostly be certain items... canned goods (particularly gravy and sauces), dry pasta, side dish mixes (IE: rice-a-roni, knorrs, betty crocker), some ice cream products, and some frozen goods (IE: Pizzas)

The big shocker is the price of meats, so we've been buying in bulk when they have sales. Buying an 8-9pound pork roast and diving it up and vacuum sealing them, 5-6 pounds of ground beef, etc.

For meat? Deer. Venison. It cost less (license, tag, pork to mix with the burger/grind) than $2 per pound. I mean, I literally less than that.

But yes, I've seen shortages at the local Dollar General store- which is where I get cat food.

I don't buy the groceries for us, so I can't comment on the availability, or the price.

I've gone to some places in Cleveland and Canton and was surprised at limited items, particularly meat. The article had a bunch of hyperbole, however.

Well, no, I've not seen deer in Florida.

I was at Kroger yesterday, and the shelves were stocked. Meat prices are way up "due to inflation". But there is meat. The only thing I couldnt find on my grocery list was a bag of baby carrots. So I had to buy organic carrots.

My bestie had the same experience at Walmart.

I haven't seen any real shortages here for several months. As has been noted on occasion there may be a certain brand or variety they are out of but that happened even before Covid. There was one time some of the meats were in short supply but the manager told me the delivery was delayed by two days and the meats would be well stocked the next day.

The shelves aren't empty around here, but they always seem to be out of what I want most. Carroll Shelby's chili mix the last time. I love that stuff.

i just went shopping yesterday. other than the chicken thighs being limited, i dont know what anyone is talking about.

i noticed once again the snack aisle being raided though. whoever is taking the chips ahoy cookies need to be shot on sight.

The produce section tends to look picked over much more often than I remember. I too, sometimes can't find chicken thighs so I just pick a different part.

I agree with you and Eve that the food shortage thing is way overblown, potentially limited to people that only buy the most processed foods.
