My feeling is testing positive and feeling fine is normal. That is what vaccines are supposed to do. I don't think all vaccines prevent you from being positive. They just prevent you from being sick, or as sick.

Why not just cancel week 17 and play 16 games like we did for the past 44 frickin' years. I don't see how that fixes the problem.

Canceling the last week would only work if that week was the extra game (ie Cardinals game in Browns case). Instead the last games are almost meaningful divisional games...canceling those muddies the water. Not playing the bengals game and such is problematic

This is probably a close game if we are healthy.
Come tomorrow at 2:00 I sure hope we get guys back.
The defense can keep us in it. But, we need those offensive players back especially the OL.
With this CT test that measures how contagious you are that is what counts. You can test positive for a long time but it is the viral load that makes you a spreader.
Fingers crossed that guys return.

Covid pill molnupiravir.
https://www.yalemedicine.org/news/9-things-to-know-about-covid-pill
There is pending approval sometime after Christmas.
What is not answered in the article is:
If you test positive and have no symptoms can this pill prevent you from being a spreader? If it can and do it quickly then it may end what is now a problem at least for the NFL.

. Raiders are on the wrong trajectory after the Gruden fiasco etc - it's a game I feel we 'should' have won (pre-Covid issues). What I guess we'll see now, does KS still have his mo-jo? Last year in similar-ish challenging situations, the coaching staff rallied and had the team play to it's maximum potential. Will that be the case? Or will we see another inconsistent performance and see the team struggle to seize a winning opportunity? Sounds like Waller is out - and he would be the one true difference maker I would see they have.

Ok, I can see if we had set it up that way before the season and they had anticipated having some problems... of course they didn't, they actually added MORE games to the season... But to cancel the last week of the season now wouldn't work. Every single team has a division game in the last week of the season and many will have playoff implications.

What similar-ish challenge situation to this did we face last year? And in case you missed it, unless things change between now and tomorrow, Stefanski won't even be on the sideline. Talk about running the blame game into the ground.

Talk about running the blame game into the ground. Nothing "exactly" like this but down the stretch last year we were 6-2, won a playoff game, and were very competitive against the Chiefs with a revolving door of hurt OL and hurt DBs, we had Stefanski in his basement for a playoff game... the whole team and the whole staff stepped up and did some remarkable things at remarkable times, including Stefanski... I don't see how this has anything to do with the "blame game"....

Not only wasn't it "exactly like this", it wasn't even close to this. And I guess you missed this part... What I guess we'll see now, does KS still have his mo-jo? Last year in similar-ish challenging situations We weren't on our third QB nor had even close to as many players out of the line up. So are you trying to suggest that if we don't beat the Raiders with this many players out it's a question of Stefanski's mojo? I didn't think so. It's the latest game being played and while some think it's fine to keep laying shade on everyone from the HC to the OL to the WR's for what's going on, God help you if you place the bulk of the blame elsewhere.

There is no "blame game" .... you seem to still be trying to create an issue where there is none. You said KS won't be on the sidelines tomorrow but you can't think of a similar challenge last year? Hmmmm. Yeah.

And from what I have read here and heard - there is a very reasonable chance Baker may be back in time to play Monday. Clearly there was no game last year where the Browns were down to their 3rd string QB ... But logic and common sense be damned by some when you think you got a "gotcha" post to make.

Not even close to this one, no. So let me ask you, if we can't win with our third string QB, does that mean Stefanski no longer has his Mojo? What I guess we'll see now, does KS still have his mo-jo?

Just some info If you have covid symptoms you probably have been infected for a couple days. After ten days from when symptoms first appear to 10 days later with no fever for 48 hours. You are not contagious. You can test positive for covid for three months. But you are not contagious.

So what I am thinking if you test once a week. You can be 6 days into covid when testing positive then you would only need 4 more days to not be contagious. But how would you know? You wouldnt.

Will that be the case? Or will we see another inconsistent performance and see the team struggle to seize a winning opportunity? Sounds like Waller is out - and he would be the one true difference maker I would see they have. Your claim is exactly what I said it was. First, there was no "similar-ish challenging situations". Since this time, only one player has returned from the Covid list, Tretter. This doesn't even include those on the injury list. You can not show ANY "simlar-ish" situation to this last year. If you can, do so. We also didn't have to start a third string QB last season either. You're basing you're comments on a false premise. If in fact we lose, it will not be because we "see the team struggle to seize a winning opportunity". Another false premise. And it will have nothing to do with your comment "What I guess we'll see now, does KS still have his mo-jo?". Your entire post is pretty much nothing but BS.

You are remembering the end of last year very differently than several others on here. There was the outbreak (not on the same level as last year, but definitely similar in how we needed to get people and even whole position groups up to speed in an impossibly short amount of time), not to mention the revolving door on the offensive line due to injuries and similar to everyone except Sendejo for the D.
No, they weren't down to QB3, but they played a game without their head coach and played a game without all their WRs

You are trying way too hard to pick a fight over something that was posted. Way way way to hard. But I guess your last word Larry ism won't let you just let people post a comment without your trying way way to hard to find a "gotcha" something or other.
Could I have written a better comment that was clearer? Maybe - but then I don't expect posters to try and trach and nit pick comments to death. if you want to play that game - ahhhh, that's right "WAH" - some people already do that with you and your response is "WAH". So, I won't play that game. We don't need to see posts consisting of "WAH" anymore than we already do.
KS has not been the same coach this year as last. The team has been flat in games it needed to win. We have way more penalties. There have been badly managed calls and clock. Last year after the break - the team played much better and KS was on point. Last year when faced with adversity - KS found a way to get the absolute most out of his team. I wonder if this week and this adversity will do that same. Will he get his mojo back from last year? Because this year it has been missing.

Nitpick? I broke down the bulk of your post. Not a comment or two. and all you've done in response is dance around it, not address or show what you meant in those comments to clarify ans instead point the finger at the one who pointed them out. see the team struggle to seize a winning opportunity Our team has over 20 players out with Covid in addition to the regular injury list. What a great opportunity! So your assertion is that based on this game under these circumstances, we will know if Stefanski has "lost his mojo". It's odd how you talk aboutStefnaski "not being on point" as though the players bear no responsibility. I guess we're back to square one on things "I'm supposed to stop posting about"? Yeah, let's blame Stefanski for that certain QB's performances and the team not executing. I wonder if the loss in confidence in the QB might have anything to do with it? Oh that's right. You get to keep making excuses but I'm not supposed to say anything about it. You made a bunch of baseless claims and somehow it's the fault of the person who pointed them out. You're not that hard to see through.

We also played two games in a row against a very depleted Steelers roster and had a loss to the Jets in our 15th game of the season. I understand that people's memories aren't always as accurate as the reality. I asked if anyone could show me actual numbers as to how it stacked up to this upcoming game in terms of missing players lost due to Covid. Thus far nobody has responded to that.
I'll give you an example of how ones memory can be a bit mixed in comparison to what actually happened. We keep hearing how we were so much better in the second half of last season. When the fact is the main change was in Bakers performance on the field. Here is what may surprise you based off of only what your memory tells you.
Week 2 was a win and we put up 35 points on the Bengals. Week 3 we beat Washington and put 34 points on the board. Week 5 we beat the Cowboys and put 49 points on the board. Week 6 we beat the Colts by putting 32 points on the board. Week 7 we beat the Bengals again by putting 37 points on the board.
That's the FIRST half of last season.
Now in five out of those eight games in the first half of the season we scored over 30 points per game. By contrast, in the second half of last season we scored under 30 points in 5 out of eight games.
A memory can play tricks on you.

Is it that the team didn't play better in the 2nd half of the season? Is it that the rest of the team didn't really change it was only Baker that changed? Help me out here..

You have a multi-front battle going on, so I think you're getting 2 conversations mixed up. My only point is that the COVID thing isn't new (though this time it is at another level). The Jets game last year saw basically our entire receiver corps out. We were constantly shuffling guys on/off the COVID list, culminating in those 2 Pitt game (Pitt was not 'depleted'... they rested guys the first game for the second game).

Yes. Others seemed to get the gist of it. Sorry you decided to take it in a vein not intended. Now once again, I am sure the board doesn't need to read the constant bickering between you and I, so I'll leave it there.

I probably missed this, if I did, straighten me out. I want to know who's accountable within the organization for our DISATEROUS covid numbers. Some teams have ZERO infections. We've got over 20 out. How we doing? Who's to blame.
I live in Florida, so, I don't know if this is true. Did Doctors and nurses take out a full page ad begging folks to get shots or is that just another Democratic lie....fake news, I think that is the term. Go Browns, we'll need a miracle tonight.

I'm not sure exactly what you're referring to but yes it has happened. And far more than once.... 'We're heartbroken:' Minnesota doctors plead in newspaper ad for people to get vaccinated https://www.cnn.com/2021/12/13/us/minnesota-doctors-covid-newspaper-ad/index.htmlThis one lists everything from Walgreens to Magnolia Health, The Texas Department of State and Health Services and The Health Foundation of South Florida as using publicity campaigns to promote vaccines. 10 recently launched COVID-19 vaccine ad campaigns https://www.beckershospitalreview.c...ntly-launched-covid-19-ad-campaigns.htmlMany people actually understand that since 90% of people dying of covid are unvaccinated that this has nothing to do with fake news, politics or any other twisted logic people try and do use to dismiss that fact. It's about saving the lives of our fellows Americans.

I'm actually not. What I said about his post was accurate. I actually quoted his very own words. Something being popular and something being accurate are not the same thing. I'll give you an example. I've said all along that Baker should get next season to try and find out if we can get a clear cut answer about him. That allowing him to get healthy over the off season and have a third year in the same system could benefit everyone. That I hoped it all worked out and he will be the answer to our QB issue. But that's never what you hear that I said. Instead people wish to paint the picture that I've said no such thing. Of course when you mention anything about Bad baker you'll have that. So let me ask you then, do you see us playing a game with over 20 members of the team being on the covid list as an "opportunity"? Do you think that even without Stefanski being on the sideline that such a game is a test of his mojo?
If you don't see what was posted as it was posted that's not an issue of mine. It takes a lot of twisting to deny what was said.
