Actually, I agree. Just as it was during the campaign. What goes around, comes around, as they say.

The fact is this was pretty much a total surprise, except to China. The fact is this is totally new and unknown and everything we have had to do had to start pretty much from peg A. It is also a fact, or at least in my opinion, that this virus is going to continue to throw us curveballs and it isn't reasonable to think our government is going to be able to solve this with one wave of a magic wand.

The longer we continue to bicker and point fingers plays right I to Chinas hand as they continue their quest to dominate the world economy, military, and political landscape.

We almost agree, Peen. We do need to come together, but there is much housekeeping to be done first. We have an insurrection and a conspiracy to commit a second attempt at a coup to deal with, and I don't see Republicans working with us to remove a hundred or more from their ranks. Also, I don't agree that China wanted a pandemic. And the reason China is kicking our asses is that those same whiny politicians and their corporate overlords pointing fingers at China have been selling us out to China wholesale for the last forty years. First they sent our jobs there for bigger profits, then they sold our market to them by letting them flood the country with cheap crap because people wanted cheap crap. But the death knell came when they started financing overspending with Chinese loans. They couldn't raise taxes to pay for all the things they overspent on because they ran on cutting taxes, so they financed the deficits with Chinese money while letting them crush competitors here. Please don't conflate Trumpian/GOPer talking points with facts.

This entire premise that "China did this on purpose to achieve global domination" is yet another far fetched conspiracy theory.

Justice Sotomayor Falsely Claims 100,000 Children in ‘Serious Condition’ from Covid

Supreme Court justice Sonia Sotomayor falsely claimed that 100,000 children are in “serious condition” from Covid during oral arguments on the Biden administration’s employer vaccine mandate on Friday.

“We have hospitals that are almost at full capacity with people severely ill on ventilators. We have over 100,000 children, which we’ve never had before, in serious condition, and many on ventilators,” Sotomayor claimed.

The current number of confirmed pediatric hospitalizations with Covid in the U.S. is 3,342, according to data from the Department of Health and Human Services released on Friday. The average number of children admitted to the hospital per day with Covid was 776 as of Tuesday, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Additionally, the total number of children hospitalized with Covid from August 2020 through January 4, 2022 is 81,923, the CDC states.

CDC director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said in a statement on Friday that “pediatric hospitalizations are at their highest rate compared to any prior point in the pandemic.” However, Walensky also told reporters that CDC data on pediatric Covid hospitalizations included some patients who were admitted to the hospital for a separate issue.

Sotomayor’s comments came as the Court heard arguments on the Biden administration’s employer vaccine mandate, which states that businesses with 100 or more employees must require Covid vaccinations for all workers and weekly testing for those workers who do not get vaccinated. Challengers claim that the agency charged with developing and enforcing the mandate, the Labor Department’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration, does not have the Constitutional authority to do so.

I don't think this was intentional/political by her, but FFS, on a mandate issue going all to the top, I think one should be more informed on the numbers or don't comment. Perhaps there is conflicting info out there, which I guess wouldn't surprise me, but still. This part was a doozy too....


Umm, yeah no kidding. This has been happening from the very beginning.

Spent much of the week seeing COVID patients, or in facilities dealing with COVID outbreaks. It’s running rampant in the community again. Again, thankfully, I’m seeing a lot less COVID related death.
My own COVID test this morning came back negative. Though I’m now seeing a reduction in my antibodies. This afternoon I scheduled my booster. The first Friday appointment I could find is a couple Fridays out. I’ll report back after my jab.

I'm getting mine Tuesday. I've had covid twice.
