I think Hue can do well in college. If he throws a guy under the bus the guy will be gone in a few years and it won’t matter. I didn't like Hue as a HC here but agree that I think he could do well at Grambling

Urban has to be out after this year, right? Wouldn’t shock me if he was back in college within 18 months

Some may laugh but Freddie got a lot out of Baker when he was OC. It might not be a bad idea to look back and see what he did.

Meyer wants to get fired so bad, collect the remainder on his contract and go coach some college ball. Or maybe take a year off, spend that time with his buddy, Chris Corso, and rub some denim well into the night.

I was honestly never very impressed with Lawrence. He’s showing worse than I thought he would, but I don’t think he’s going to be more than an average pro. He had superior talent around him at Clemson. He often threw to wide open receivers. He too often relied on his legs, and the broken plays that they created, to move the ball. I often saw him make only 1-2 reads before running from a clean pocket. He was a great college QB. I’ll not knock him for that. I just don’t think he’ll make a great pro. So far I’m being proven correct.

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

So far I’m being proven correct. I think this is his Peyton Manning rookie season. Kid has been the best quarterback in the nation at his age since he's been a freshman in high school. He's getting great experience this year. I expect him to come back with a vengeance next year and be exponentially better. It would help if he also got a better head coach.

I think that may be a stretch. But I will agree with you to the extent that you can't judge the trajectory of an NFL QB based on his rookie year.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

The best part is everyone knew it was going to be a train wreck but it just happened way quicker than people thought.

Funny thing is, Urban kicked him right before the last preseason game, he had missed all his FG tries to that point. After the swift kick, he went two for two in the final preseason game.
Urban quit kicking him and he went on to miss every FG in the regular season (0-3) and two of three extra points.
Analytics says Urban should have kicked him way more often.

My question is, do head coaches really refer to themselves as the head ball coach?
I swear the last time I’ve heard that title was either from Bobby Bowden or the coach from the movie The Water Boy

While I agree Meyer has been a train wreck, Lambo sounds like a cry baby who's piling on when it's fashionable to do so. He honestly sounds like a loser.

Looks like the Head Coach Hitman was at it again.
At least it's not us dealing with that nonsense this time. Losing brings out all frustration-response crazy.

He should have been fired right after the bar scene.
Clearly not NFL head coach material.

Brilliant! Bar scene looked like bowling night / beer frame celebration. Take Trevor.

Clearly not NFL head coach material. If memory serves - if that scene wasn't bad enough, Urban had stayed behind and didn't travel back home with the team ... and ended up in that Bar with that scene. smh.
The more things change the more they stay the same.

From the beginning, I wasn't sure how his ego would play in the NFL... Honestly, I didn't think it would happen this fast.

And the dominoes will start to fall: Who will be the next coach in Jacksonville? You've got a very good QB who I'm sure didn't get much development with this circus going on.

I'm guessing Byron Leftwich might be a candidate.

I never understand how some guys can have so much weird drama in their personal lives, especially when they get to be 50s and 60s years old. Urban Meyer is continuously surrounded by weird rumors

I sometimes wonder if Meyer’s strength in college was recruiting and the nuts and bolts of games was actually the result of his coordinators. I would not be surprised if he is done with coaching, period. The baggage that he seems to have is growing larger. Of course, college football is the minors of the NFL and is a revenue source for universities so there likely is someone some place who will make him a ridiculous offer which he would take and then bail after a few years. Perhaps his schtick doesn’t age well.

For the life of me, I cannot understand why a successful college coach would forsake the security of collegiate ball for the insecurity of the NFL. Success in college means virtually a lifetime contract....
