I agree. Far too many athletes just keep on way past their prime. Brady is leaving while still playing at a very high level. Nothing to tarnish his reputation as a player.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

He certainly leaves a legacy, no doubt. And glad to see him hang it up before possibly tarnishing some of it by sticking around too long.

Absolutely saw this coming.

When he first said that his family would be part of the decision process.

That told me right there that he would retire.

People can argue about greatest ever. I don't like those arguments.

What I will say is: I don't think another quarterback will ever win seven Super Bowls.

I'm sure he's still retiring, likely wants to announce on his terms.

I'll wait for MKC to report it.

How does a league celebrating its 100th season only recognize the 53 most recent championships?

Tom Brady called the Bucs late this afternoon to inform them he's not even close to making a decision about retirement, according to a source.

Good year for the Browns to have Brady hang it up. Browns play the Buccs next year and it will be good to not have to face the GOAT.

According to Spotrac, $15 million of Brady’s $20 million signing bonus was deferred to Feb. 4, 2022. If Brady retires before Friday, he will give up the bonus money. Should Brady decide to continue to the 2022 season, Spotrac notes his entire salary would be guaranteed but voided if he decides to retire.

It's too soon for it to be official.

There's the $15 Million - and then there is signing for the Patriots so he can retire as a Patriot.

No doubt I should appreciate him more because he's the GOAT. Maybe I will one day.

You never can tell.

His last game he got beat up pretty bad - bloody lip and all. So his body was telling him - "TOM" stop this foolishness and retire your ass while you can still walk and play golf.

But after a few days in the hot tub he starts feeling better and guess what - the longer he goes without making it official the more apt he's not retiring quite yet. So who knows these sports journalist what to one up each other so badly they will say he's retiring and that its official cause their sources says so. UNTILL TOM BRADY HAS IT COME OUT OF HIS MOUTH...it ain't so.

The horrible part is, he probably could play another 5 years they way he's been playing. We can't seem to get two continuous years of good QB play, then we get to watch Brady break the age barrier for QBs… smh.

Usually when the skills drop off in an older QB, they drop straight off a cliff. Is it possible he has five years left? Well, anything is possible I guess. But at his age you never know when his skill set takes a nose dive.

I wonder if he felt a slight decline over the past few weeks, even if it wasn’t noticeable to us. Almost like he could tell that cliff was upcoming

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I've never understood this kind of sentiment.
1. I hate Tom Brady because that ... was never a Cleveland Browns player, and beyond that I dont' think he was ever any good anyway, had bad throwing motion, was a one trick pony, played for some dumb opposing organization. So, I'd never be sad to see him go, he should have gone 25 years ago!
2. I don't think it matters if players leave on their own terms, they are either in it with their team or they are not.
Maybe 90% of people aren't football fans, just football watchers.
I don't think Brady was even a top 3 QB in this game, not if in 1987ish. I believe he would have been pushed around if he had played, up against Marino, Elway, or Montana, or others. (Let alone earlier eras.)
I'm not really happy or sad to see him go, he is like a neighbors barking dog that keeps you up at night, I want to see the Browns win!

And I don't think Brady was unique. It's not like I ever thought in any game that Brady was doing something that I've never seen done before or that his performance was just outstandingly unbelieveably unable to be beat. ( I thought that about Montana, for 3 whole separate freaking seasons)
Anybody who didn't see the NFL prior to about 1994 really missed out. I think the big money came in, and somewhere they started scripting outcomes.
As far as I care. Tom Brady was not a Cleveland Brown, so I ignore his entire career. I'm sure he might be a special person but as for a football career, I don't give a !!!!!!!!!!! !

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

Some of us are Browns fans first but also love the game and watching the NFL. As such we watch several games and can appreciate the skills and abilities of other teams, players and coaches. You obviously aren't one of those people.

Me too. Jim Brown retired at 30... Brady led his team(s) to two SBs after the age of 40.

He IS the GOAT, as much as I hate saying it (except Joe Montana didn’t lose Super Bowls. Or throw a pick in any of them). Best that ever played football.

Don’t like him because he embarrassed teammates on the field, hate the Patriots. Finally Tom, you are going away.
