Young musicians today have it so good.
When I learned Tom Sawyer I had to do it with a Cassette tape and boom box, playing along was damn near impossible because you couldn't hear the recording over the drums, and the definition between sounds was minimal, so figuring out what was truly being played was difficult.
I'm sure I drove my neighbors crazy learning Dream Theater in my first apartment.

To have IEM (In Ear Monitors) and good recordings when I was learning would have been a huge win.
