It is stunning to me that trump's praise for Putin is glossed over.
Like somehow it has no meaning. For an ex president of the United States to state publically that a communist dictator's invasion of an independent country is genius is disgusting.
And people don't even react to it. Makes me wonder what country I am living in?

It's really not any different than Biden saying Putin is a worthy advesary.

There are far more important things to react to right now like strategic planning, casualties, a potential invasion of Poland and WW3. The last thing on your mind should be Trump.
The energy should be spent on those things that one can control, not what someone who's not currently in office said, especially since it has no bearing on the current situation. It's a lost cause.

So, not showing a unified front as America is not important?

I grow more and more furious with this alt-right Trumpian BS. If you can't stand with America, with a possible start to WW3 underway, then just get out, you are no longer one of us. Some of the rhetoric I'm seeing about Trump shows that the inssurection didn't change a damn thing for them. They are as Un-American as one can get.

I do.
He’s clearly shown he has a massive influence over quite a wide swatch of one political party. He’s a former president and a prospective presidential candidate who weaves himself into politics at every level, with many seeking his endorsement and falling in line with his ideologies. Same with media personalities.
His undermining and divisive rhetoric dampen a situation and are highly sensed and exploited by our adversaries.
I can’t imagine the reaction that would have happened if Nixon came out with similar statements during the Cuban Missile Crisis, but that type of galvanization has given way to individual ambitions.

Can we not derail the thread with the typical deranged libtard Trump crap. I would rather hear your opinions about the war.

Me too bro. And sorry for joking about being sorry. I didn't take it that way, at all. He was one hell of a cat. Showed up here as a tiny kitten. I had passed him, on a highway, about 3/8's of a mile from my house - through the field. Sitting on the white line of the road. Showed up. Took him a week or so to allow Sooga to touch him. Warmed up to my wife, then, a few days later, me. Little son of a B would jump on my shoulders from the top of the Hummer - totally unexpected. He'd sit on my shoulder/s watching Browns games in the garage. The shotgun never phased him - he, as he did his whole life - just went with the flow. He was an outside cat, then a garage cat, then an in the house cat, then back to a garage cat, then a 'shop' cat. he took every move in stride. Wife got mad that he'd listen to me more than a dog. he'd walk me out the the shop, and back up to the house. Guarding me. After he became my barn/shop cat.......dude was outside at night when it was warm enough. Meet me at the door every single morning. he'd either sit on my shoulders when I was on the computer, or lay his front paws on my right arm (comp. mouse arm) and nap. Sounds stupid, I know, but he was my best buddy. We'd even have boxing matches - his paws, my gentle fist. So much more...........sounds stupid, but I miss the hell out of him. His 3rd to last night, I was up with him til 6 in the morning. His last night, I was up with him til a little after 1. When I went to the house I just told him "Bud, if you have to go, go. We had a blast man. I'll miss you." Found him at 8 in the morning..... Now, back to Ukraine.

Oh crap, I must have missed that, man. I’m really sorry to hear about that. Hit-wrenching when that happens.

And people don't even react to it. Makes me wonder what country I am living in? Why? It was a shrewd strategic move. Just like it was a shrewd move when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor. I don't see your disgust other than biased feelings. It doesn't mean the ex-President is rooting for the guy. Give me a break.

Damn bro, making me go hug my little nine pound doggie.
My wife cries when we even ponder "the day".
Savor the fact that you gave him his "best life"... and then cry some more when you realize he gave you yours... it's tough.

That is not the point.
trump has praised Putin from the start. Why? Because he wanted to put a turmp tower in Moscow.
His love affair with strong arm dictorators is not new. He is a wannabe. He would love the control of the US that Putin has in Russia.
He would love to put tanks on the border of Mexico so he could ring the bell of his cult.
He has no clue what patriotism is. trumpism is what he cares about. It is obvious and people act like it is not.
He attempted to overthrow an election. Read that again in case it does not sink in.
An election in a democracy where people have died for the right to vote.

From the woman that told soldiers to put sunflower seeds in their pockets, so the flowers will grow where they die, to this Mig pilot… Ukrainians are not going to take this laying down.

I was actually going to say this thread SHOULD be moved to the Everything Else section but you just can't let your political crap go. You just can't. Personally I think it's pathetic and it shows a lot about your mindset.
I'd like to have a discussion about Putin, the war, like we've been doing. I've tried to make it a cognitive point not to deviate into pettiness because there are greater matters to talk about. I think a lot of posters have made the same conscious choice. Why can't you do the same?

That’s incredible considering how much C2 Russia has probably knocked out. I’m usually good with my fighter identification but I had trouble with that one. Mig-29?

I'd like to know what keeps rolling across the screen with some surface-to-air projectiles that sound exactly like the Phaser gun from NES Contra. Video is way too fuzzy with trees in the way, can't even tell if it's coming from a tank.

general: Think for yourself. You don't have to have your strings pulled by the daily broadcasted news cycle, from any and all sides. Live in truth.

Germany might rather be an ally of Russia. They want the energy resources. They are a dog with tail between their legs.

I'm not sure which of the last two posts is crazier.
Oh wait, yes I am, although "crazy" is a poor choice of words.
