Just listening to some random dem on MSNBC talking about how Biden has brought the world together to stand against Putin. BULL CRAP! Regular people around the world did that. I hope he doesn't go there tonight.

Cmon man. Wait for him to talk before you start cussing the guy out.. I really don't see it as Biden's style to trying to take credit for somebody else's success. That would be the last Administration and 45

I I don't remember listening to any others and probably won't tonight. It's political theater...
As for uniting the western world against Russia. Putin can take that credit, he has earned it.

I'm going to have to turn this off. A bunch of clapping seals praising Biden for Ukraine's resolve while the US does nothing to help them.

I wish we put an end to this non stop clapping. Every single president regardless of party loses momentum getting cut off by clapping.
Anyways, good god they trying to have Russia’s economy all but erased. Going directly after rich people too? Yachts or nationality, I dunno what rich Russians will choose.

If you cut out the clapping, it would be a five minute speech with 4 hours of post-commentary.

Oooo there’s way too many republicans standing up cheering Biden right now. You know the term RINO is about to trend right now.

Biden is crushing this right now. Not only a strong message sent to Putin, but delivering strong highlights of his administration while advocating for an increase in domestic spending and American made products.
Republicans will have a very hard time disagreeing with that. But seems like enough republicans are on board with the direction of the country. This could be a game changer in Republican primaries.

You must have accidentally tuned into a rerun of CPAC. I had to look up what CPAC was... and I'm not referring to either party... there's plenty of clowns on both sides that I'd love to get out of government... I'll never understand how these politicians who have been in Washington for 30+ years can get up there and say we need to change or do this or that... what the hell have you been doing for the past 30 years? I'd really love to have some term limits and age limits...

Real policies, real direction, real platforms, real leadership.
Y’all can make fun of biden all you want, but the unity displayed tonight sent a huge message to the American people. Biden didn’t disparage the republicans and embraced them and reminded them of shared goals and visions.
Differently gonna heat up the Republican civil war. All the fighting in Ukraine isn’t gonna make people ignore the crap storm going on in conservative politics. Damn they have Elected officials attending white supremacist conferences. They need to fix that asap.
And atleast there’s a platform and policies to criticize.

Am I missing something? It seems like Biden just switched his political ticket and is pushing everything from funding to police, closing the borders, bringing back manufacturing.
minus 50% corporate tax. lol

Biden is speaking to every demographic in America tonight. If that isn’t a list of common goals that the majority of Americans want to achieve, I don’t know what is.
Reminds me of when people talked about how democrats and republicans had the same goals, just a difference in how to achieve them.
I wonder if that Republican Party comes back, or does the far right win out with the isolationist ideology in the primaries?
Guess it’s up to conservative voters.

Was much like most state of the unions... some things I agree with... some things I don't... I agreed more with what he said that I thought I would... too much clapping... and frankly it's a bunch of rhetoric (as it always is) so not sure how much true substance there is... but that's always the case with these....

Absolutely wonderful. Man that was a very impactful speech, and much needed with everything going on.
And I really like the messages of unity throughout, and didn’t take shots at republicans and highlighted bipartisan wins.
Obviously a lot of work to do, but that’s what SOTUs are supposed to do: inspire and fill the country with optimism when we need it the most.
Not gonna lie, that’s one of the few times a presidents speech moved me, but I’m only 34 so hopefully there will be plenty more for various presidents. I really hope the GOP can rise up to really do some good with legislation this year. A full year of most bipartisan would do this country some really good.

Guess it’s up to conservative voters. it's also up to what is left of the core supporters that got him elected. The conservative candidates - atleast the candidates most capable of taking advantage of a decline in core support - are currently having to fight their own party/ideology. If the MAGA candidates make it through, this SOTU could help jumpstart motivation to the polls in the midterm from the left. Remember, the majority of the country still dislike trump and his loyalist more than they’re indifferent to Biden.

I wasn't as moved by the speech... I do agree, I appreciate that there was very little shots towards the republicans... but I didn't find it as strong as you did...
however, I 100% agree that we need a year of working together... it feels like in the last 5-10 years our government has moved more towards trying to look like their side is 'winning'... we need them to be working together.... I'm hopeful that we can have some bipartisan work over the next couple of years...

This should be good, these other party responses are always weird/awkward. It will be interesting if they also preach unity or try to attack Biden instead.

The Republican governor of Iowa is trying her hardest, but this seems like a speech written long before the SOTU. It seems like the responses aren’t to the SOTU or the direction and goals of this country. Some republicans clearly are in surprise with how the speech went, and really can’t disagree with bipartisan efforts. If the best responses are gonna be ratcheting up anti CRT rhetoric and other emotional theater, I don’t think the midterms will go the way they’ve been hyping it up to go.

Basically, what I got was: everything the u.s. is doing now is wrong, and if we only spent more money, we could fix everything.
He sounded like my wife and her "we need to have the driveway fixed, and the foundation, and you need a new truck, and we need a new washer and dryer...............ad nauseum." How you gonna pay for it? "We'll make payments."
Regardless, I don't care who the president is - what party they are - the SOTU is nothing but a big campaign.
Then you have the stand up and clap, sit down, listen to 2 sentences and stand up a clap again, then sit. Then you got pelosi looking at her papers wondering when she's going to have to stand up and clap again. Stand up, clap. Sit. Stand up, clap. Spend spend spend.
Maxine looked like satan during the speech, but she sure smiled after as she followed Biden around.
It changes nothing. I loved how Biden said something along the line of "I know, I've been here 36 years." yeah, Joe, and nothing has changed.
Don't care what party is president - the sotu is a joke. I can't imagine what it looks like to the rest of the world.

After Sundays are over, the air football games without all the down time. We need a version of the SotU without all the clapping.
It's supposed to be hard! If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard... is what makes it great!

You know it’s bad when this is the best response Arch can come up with. A whole lot of nothing. Conservatives gonna have to just be like Putin and make up reasons to attack Joe Biden. Lol it’s ok to agree with Biden bro it’s not that deep.
