Local brewery had a beer named Shirtless Putin. They announced it will be rebranded. New name has not been decided yet. I'm hoping the new name will be after Zelensky

So Russia has been shelling a nuclear power plant in Central Ukraine, its now of fire. It is significantly bigger than Chernobyl.

So if Putin causes a major nuclear catastrophe that affects all of Europe, can we say enough with the sanctions and just take out his ass?

Lighting up a nuclear power plant is unbelievable, an will likely cause an escalation of the war. That is not good for anyone.

Anyone else think Putin is comfortable and reserved to die? Maybe he thinks oh well, I don't care, I'll go out swinging whether it's a suicide mission or not.

It will be his last act of defiance against the West.

No. He won't even sit near his closest advisors in meetings. He doesn't want to die, he just wants people to be scared/intimidated at the idea he'd be willing to end it all.

Watch us all get blown to smithereens weeks from now and this post looks super silly!

A long time ago, when I was no more than a kid, I made up my mind that if all out nuclear war ever happened, nothing I could do would save me. If the initial blast doesn't kill you, the aftermath will. So, even if it's imminent, there is ZERO since worrying about it killing you, that's a given. And unless you have the ability to launch or abort, there is not a damn thing you can do either.

If one suspects Putin didn't even go to war before he had Biden in his pocket. If Putin didn't even decide to go to war until he insured he installed a puppet ally in the US Whitehouse in the form of Joe Biden, if we believe that, then who is going to take Putin out?
He is similar to pulling the strings on both sides of the battlefield. Did ya'll think this would not happen, because everybody has been clear about their intentions. All the people from all sides have been clear on their intentions from the outset some years ago.

No, the Russian people are EXACTLY like us. They view things differently because they have been raised under different circumstances than we have but human nature doesn't change, not over time, not over geography, it just doesn't change. Ukraine is living proof of that, a generation ago these people were essentially Russian, once they were allowed to be self-governing and they developed a love for the freedom and the democracy that they had, they thought differently. Because inherently, people want to be free to make their own choices, people want to be left alone to succeed or fail based on their own efforts, they want to raise and provide for their family in peace, they want to be a part of choosing their own destiny...

Polling inside Russia says that support for this conflict is split... on one side you have people who read and follow outside news through the internet and social media, people who are fairly educated, people who are well travelled in the world.. largely stand opposed to this war. On the other side you have those who watch and believe state media, who are easily influenced by propaganda and misinformation, who have a longing for some romanticized version of past greatness they hope to rekindle, who have spent little to no time outside of Russia seeing how the rest of the world functions... they largely are in favor of the war. Yes, they are exactly like us.

If you could somehow free the Russian people of the oppressive government they have always lived under, you would see that in less than one generation, they would become used to it and they would never be willing to go back... they are exactly like us.

Good post, and not to derail, but this is one of the differences between Afghanistan and Ukraine. Afghans are not hard core on fighting, because they haven't had freedom, they don't understand it, hard to fight for something you don't know/understand. Ukraines on the other hand have experienced it, and will be damned if they are giving it up without a fight.

We don't have to agree with each other, to respect each others opinion.

I think it’s high time a Russian used the Julius Caesar scenario on Putin.

couple things here:

1. i keep saying it, but how did Putin think Ukraine was gonna be this easy of a pushover? he must have been so concerned with NATO, that the military budget went to all the big boy toys, because these ground forces and equipment look like crap, even before the footage.

2. one of the benefits of social media is that the world can see what real combat looks like. social media is one of the main reasons the world united quickly to rally around ukraine.

but does anybody realize what the unintended consequences will be? watching that video....i couldnt help but noticed it looks just like CoD: Warzone maps. so how many internet-tough guys and people other reckless individuals start glorifying war like this? or take it a step further....

that being said, im probably on of the few who watched the video and didn't feel anything whatsoever. maybe i'm numb to it all due to experience, maybe i dont care what happens to russian soldiers, or maybe a bit of both.

Russia is using conscripts, which by Russian law cannot be sent into combat, oops.
Something that has been bothering me.Russia seems to be doing alot of night time fighting, but I've yet to see any night vision optics.Attacking a fortified position at night without night vision is suicidal.

Early in this invasion, a poster here said "I don't need to see this"... because of something posted here... all I could think is "better be careful where you click then".

Everybody needs to see this. You said it early on and I nodded my head in agreement.

While I am shocked, your emotions were already re-calibrated years ago, by the sacrifice you made for your country. Unfortunately, they were fighting for a madman. Don't feel much because there wasn't (isn't) much I can do. I'm much more emotional watching a father say goodbye to his daughter.

The scenery bothers me more than anything else. Ruins... ruined lives whether they survive or not.

I'm having a hard time reckoning the world right now and trying to wrap my brain around the whole of it.

For all our ambitions, technology, exploration, from the core of our earth to the edges of the universe... We still, as a world, paint ourselves into a corner when dealing with the psychotic leaders on this planet.

When will it ever be as it should... "The world voted -- you're out."

It bothered me at first. But I got over it. I've seen worse things on the internet. Watching that guy get beheaded is the worst thing I have ever seen and took me a long time to get over. I had huge regret about watching that video.
