Here is my issue with 40 times.

Anyone who has run track know that the biggest thing you can do to improve your time is getting off the block better. And that is the issue. When was the last time you saw a Wr lineup and take the sprinter position? If I was a GM I would clock the Wr's coming from a start standing the way they stand in a game. And have them run motion then turn up on the snap count. That would be a number with more value IMO.

I think 40 times are a waste regardless. When's the last time you saw a d-back line up in starter blocks?

I don't know, it's just "too many measurements" that really don't mean a whole lot, imo. Tape should be key. Can you play.

Jordan Davis is 6'6" 340 pounds.

He ran a 4.78 40.

His first ten yard split was 1.68

Jarvis Landry ten yard split 1.73

Think about that.

That's almost unblockable. That kind of mass with that sort of explosiveness.. trying to block that, It's like trying to stop a car that jackrabbiting with a hand punch.

That is why teams almost always double teamed the guy. Between his speed, strength, and just plain mass, one person could rarely do it.

He also had a 10'3" Broad Jump.

And a 32" vertical.

340 Pounds.

That is amazing. Georgia was stacked.

Trevon Walker is a stud.

Devonte Wyatt another good looking player

The question with Jordan Davis is how many times in a row can he do that?
If he can do it once then need to take 2-3 plays off, eh
If he can do it 3, 4, 5 plays in a row? sign me up.

This popped up on my Google feed - no doubt because I was searching for game tape last month. Think he will definitely slide now. Not out of the 1st round but into the late teens - early 20's I expect.

London will have his pro-day to showcase his skills.

He will do well but I do not expect a super fast forty. It will probably be in the 4.5 range. He is still great.

Wilson maybe the first receiver taken. London second.

I would not be surprised that Christian Watson moves into third.

And depending upon Jameson Williams medical and expected return probabaly fourth with Burks going fifth.

========================================================================

DE/Edge

Hutchenson, Thibodeaux, Walker, J Johnson, Karlaftis.

We will get a hellava player at 13.

Second round is hard to figure. It will be influenced by free agency and how the first round goes.
===============================================================

My hope for pick 13 in this order:

Travon Walker
Garrett Wilson
Drake London
Jeremaine Johnson
Karlaftis

Walker is a perfect bookend to Myles. He is 6'5" and 272 pounds. He is an inside outside player who will be a disruptive force.

Garrett Wilson is a complete receiver who is good at every aspect of the position.

Drake London is a great fit for the Browns offense. He is redzone and full field receiver who can block.

Jemaine Johnson is a dynamic finisher from the edge. Excellent in both pass rush and playing the run.

Karlaftis is solid all around player. Plays a pure DE position in a 4-3. He will a damn good pro.

Any of these guys are worthy at pick 13.

If we trade back and our first pick was in the 20's.

I would be looking for Jameson Williams and Christian Watson. We may still get a shot at Jeremaine Johnson or Karlaftis.

I think that's a good list and plenty realistic. Just because of the WR depth I might flip flop London and Johnson. David Ojabo may need to be in on that list - I see him going early in some mocks - he may fall and he maybe in the mix.

I’d take Araiza in the fourth round and then just have a reliable punter for 15 years.

My opinion of Ojabo is that he is very raw.

He is fast etc. But I see him getting swallowed by NFL linemen with good technique. I see a problem with him getting off blocks. He plays high.

He maybe a better fit in a 3-4. He may take a few years before he reaches his potential.

He is one guy that I hope we do not take. I could be wrong but that is how I see it.

A lot will depend upon the run at quarterbacks.

I like Skyy Moore. He looks strong to me. He plays fast. Has sharpe quick moves. He could be very good in the slot.

I like Logan Hall. He could be a good second rounder. He has good length and is athletic. Looks like a good player.

It would be a gift to get him at 13.

He looked so natural in the drills. Really smooth for his size.

You don't think you are looking at a guy 6'5" 272lbs.

Really impressive player.

I want to know why he had so little production at Georgia.

The roles used by Georgia were way different.

Look at the players on that defense. Davis, Wyatt, Walker, Nakobe Dean, Quay Walker.

Georgia uses the Tite Front as their base defense with two hybrids for OLBs (DE/OLB). The Bulldogs refer to their Nickel-based Tite Front defense as Mint. It is a unique package that has a plethora of adjustments off it.

Walker was not used as a pure 4-3 DE.

He will be used differently in the pros.

So are you saying there really isn't much tape of him actually playing the role he will be playing in the NFL? That there is a lack of evidence showing how he will perform in that role?

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Every team runs a scheme. As players come into the NFL they maybe asked to play different roles.

I have seen very little of Georgia. I know there are like 4 or 5 first rounders from their defense.

What I saw in shorts is a really athletic guy. How he projects to the NFL? I can not answer.

He is almost identical to Myles in combine numbers. He is 6'5" 272 lbs.

He moves like a linebacker.

Jermaine Johnson I have seen more of as a pass rusher. At the combine he was with the linebacker group. He played DE at Fl. St.
He is 6' 4.5" 260 lbs. He for sure can rush the passer.
Hard to say how the Browns will look at them?

And that's all fine and well. How did he rank in production during actual games compared to Myles? It's great when your measurables line up with the game tape. That verifies what you saw on tape. When your measurables stand out more than the game tape, it becomes more of a projection than verification.

For sure he is a projection guy.

Jermaine Johnson is a lot easier to see as a DE pass rusher.
