I've always like Cooper's play on the field and his productivity. This should be huge upgrade over OBJ. thumbsup

highly consistent numbers, barely turns the ball over, and is going to be 28 in his prime!

we would have to cut/trade Tretter, Landry, Baker, Hooper, Keenum somehow resign Clowney to have the money for Watson

Bonus: no one knows how long the NFL will suspend Watson. It could be 6 games to an entire year.

Cooper would have to agree to a restructure - the Browns don't get to just change the contract because they want too. Secondly, the only way Cooper restructures his deal would be if he gets guaranteed money of which he has none now coming to the Browns. That would be pretty ballish of the Browns to restructure Cooper with guaranteed money that they don't have to pay now. I suppose it's a possibility but could lead to cap hell in the future.

Cap hell in the future? The salary cap is going to explode beginning in 2023 when the new TV deals kick in.

The Browns will have anything but salary cap issues.

maybe not?

Baker is gone if we trade watson, people was trashing Hooper anyway so oh well, and landry seems to be gone, but we can trade him for picks.

Berry can find a way

Cowboys fans pretty much shocked they couldn't get at least a 3rd for him.

Comments are hilarious! rofl

I’m sure the FO will trade down the 5th and 6th for three 7th picks. So it’s all good

Hopefully they draft a kicker with that pick that can be an immediate contributor.

Having been having this discussion on Jamison Williams in the draft - Cooper is catching a lot of those passes with his body. Personally I don't think it's a significant knock on either of them.

So we get to hear chants in the crowd of "Coooop" and "Hooop" now...Always loved Jarvis, hopefully we can get something out of him in return.

Seeing a lot of rumors that MJS is even seeking 10 mill a year, and Braxton Berrios (who I would love here) is seeking 9 mill....both really steep prices imo...SO Amari's 20 mill, doesn't look so bad.

Still hoping we can grab BJ Hill away from the Bengals, and if Clowney bolts...I wouldn't mind snagging both Arden Key and Derek Barnett, so we can have a rotation at DE.

Same here. I'd love to see them both lining up for the Browns.

I'd be pretty happy with a WR room of Cooper, Landry, Peoples-Jones, Higgins, and a 2nd or 3rd round WR draft pick.

We will.see how this pans out. Cause in.the past the Browns traditionally have more
Failure than success with bringing on WRs not drafted. I.e Bowe Britt
Cooper is a upgrade over Landry. But he is inconsistent. One week you will get
86 yds and 2-TDs from.him then next week 23 yds.
One has to wonder if he can find some chemistry with a QB that is lesser than Prescott

So we basically got Cooper for a seventh round pick?

Sign me up for that. A serviceable #1 receiver for a fifth round pick is pretty legit.

I love the idea of this, but I can't shake the feeling that it just isn't going to amount to much of an impact.

Love this. This guy is very good. The Raiders were fools to part with him, and the Cowboys probably wished they could keep him. He is a legit threat.

I'm trying to find it, but I read earlier today that the Browns have given Landry permission to seek a trade. But they left the door open for his return. Sounds like they are telling Jarvis to take less or find a trade you like.

Obviously Cooper is a talent,, No question. But I can't get past how we felt when we got OBJ to go with Landry.. Frankly that should have worked out just fine..

Looking at the stats Amari is on the decline. He actually had a better 2020 season without Dak than with him in 2021.

I'm all for the trade. We still need a real QB to sling the football his way.

I have no idea about that one way or the other. Apparently, he called Prescott a "black Kirk Cousins". That's pretty diva-like. smile

Cooper has been less injury prone, which was a huge issue for me when we got OBJ. Although, to be fair, Cooper has missed a couple games here and there along the way.

To me, it’s more about his style of play. Does he freelance his routes like OBJ?

No, I don't think so. In fact, he allegedly is one of the better crip route runners.

Its talked about a lot. But I think we can literally take the best player available regardless of position in round 1.

What makes you think that? I know he has been aggressive with a couple of players during the tampering period, but none of them WR.

With the Cooper trade, I'd be surprised with any other major WR signings early on. Monday is when the big money is normally dished out. I can't see that being the WR spot for us.

In Berry’s two years with us he has focused his attention on two areas. The first year he focused on the offensive line and we signed Conklin. Last year the defensive backfield was the focus and we signed John Johnson and Troy Hill.

I would guess we end up signing a new guy for the slot at least on Monday.
