Taven Bryan has had a solid career so far through his second season after being drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the first round with the 29th overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft.

He started eight games, posted the eighth-highest run grade among interior defenders in November, per Pro Football Focus, and finished the season with a respectable 75.6 overall grade.

Bryan played under 30 percent of the team’s defensive snaps while appearing in every game and finished the year with 20 tackles and a sack.

Seems like a rotational guy that Zegura will say tomorrow shows flashes of Aaron Donald-like pass rush skills and plays with a mean streak.

2021 PFF on Taven Bryant:

Overall: 56.4
Run Defense: 44.4
Pass Rush: 66.8

Total Snaps: 298
Run Defense Snaps: 122
Pass Rush Snaps: 176

Best graded PFF Season was 2019:

Overall: 75.5
Run Defense: 74.5
Pass Rush: 68.8

Total Snaps: 481

DT continues to be an issue lol. He’s a lottery ticket

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

He's not an answer to a problem. He is another DT back-up who isn't all that good like the back-ups we have.

Day -2 of Free Agency and he's taking a 1-year deal already. We probably had to outbid ourselves to get him.

might be a good pick, Clowney took a one year deal. Bryan is a big body who has 85 tackles. If he fits the scheme and can stop the run then he might be a welcome fit for the Browns.

Reading his draft evaluation, it said he could play inside or outside. DE in a 3-4, more specifically. With no one signed as of yet to replace Clowney, he might work out there.

a defensive tackle usually lines up inside, he's not a defensive edge rusher or OL. pretty much going to put him on a guard or tackle and keep his ground.

I'm thinking "depth that has upside and shows up on the field as a positive, economical signing" as many of Berry's second-tier signings have.

Good point. DT's don't always have "stats". If you have a guy who requires 2 blockers to move him, maybe he doesn't get stats, but someone else should be able to get a stat credit.

I think people look at guys like Aaron Donald ,Merlin Olsen and a handful of others and expect that. Well, those guys are in the HOF for a reason. They are rarer than edge rushers. You usually only find 2-3 of those guys every 15-20 years.

From clips and write ups I’ve seen, he looks athletic and probably a higher SPARQ score. It’s probably worth a flyer like this

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

He can play DT or DE. The Browns hope he can be a run stuffer and also a better pass rusher fingerscrossed

He is a free agent. The fact that he took less money to go to Minnesota probably means he doesn't want to come back here.
