Goodness gracious. This guy was awful. I disagree. I thought he played well. But, I'm biased.....we get our haircut at the same place and he's good dude.

I feel like this was the exact same deal as last year.

A 1 year deal and he can continue to mentor JOK and Phillips. No complaints.

I thought he played rather well last year and I just checked PFF and they had him graded as the #17 best LBer last season.

Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

He's no world-beater, for sure... but we could do worse. He's supposedly a good locker room guy and he contributes some on the field. Browns seem to be counting their dollars and don't seem to make LB position a point of emphasis.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

Another year of Wali Ranier/DQ Jackson/Joe Schobert esque play...he'll be the "spokesperson" of the defense and will cheer lead ala Kennard Lang. Great. I was going to miss him chasing RBs downfield after completely missing the read or getting blown out of the way. Should be fun...again. Malcom Smith was notably better.

It’s a “meh” move to me. You need bodies at the position. He wasn’t good but wasn’t awful.
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

How does a league celebrating its 100th season only recognize the 53 most recent championships?

Hell - everything gets a bit fuzzy and I certainly would like an upgrade. But I seem to recall the D playing better with him than without him. You can't have a roster where every position is a stud - and Walker knows the system and players around him. I'd love an impact/enforcer type at LB - but I can live with this. Jacobs was injured a lot - he may come on. JOK is a stud. Taki was better than I had expected (if still 'meh').
The more things change the more they stay the same.

We needed someone, and unless we were going to go all out, Walker is good enough. I am not sure we could find any better on a 1 year, 5 mil deal.
It's about who you can get and how much you have to pay. Unlike previous years, we don't have a boatload of extra cash to be players for the "name" players at every position, so it is what it is.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn. GM Strong

From all accounts Walker is great in the locker room. Darius Leonard credits him for enhancing his film study habits. Hopefully Walker will have that same effect on JOK.

I thought he played rather well last year and I just checked PFF and they had him graded as the #17 best LBer last season. And Walker had the 4th best coverage grade of all qualifying LBs last year per PFF.

and I find both of these revelations to be VERY surprising, and I wonder why there isn't a bigger market for him.
