With Cribbs and Leon Washington having 5 combined tds and welker is the leading vote getter? come on

It's the fans vote. When coaches and players vote it will change.

just goes to show. the pro bowl is really a popularity contest.
as a fan, though, it's nice to be a piece of the puzzle, however insignificant and irrelevant we may be.
id vote for:
qb afc: tom brady. i hate the pats but for the sake of pete, the guy is awesome.
rb afc: marshawn lynch. the man is behind addai and parker in yards, but the impact he has is much more than either of those two.
fb: carey davis, pitt. i won't give any credit which may be due to parker. it's all davis. i hate pitt and parker, but with no mention to a guy who has been tearing up the league, ill just say it's all davis's fault. moving on....
wr: braylon edwards. i don't care who calls me a homer. if the pats had braylon instead of randy, he would have 18 touchdowns by now. he's better. he got all his stats from a team and qb which were thrown under the bus before the season. game over. and flame on.
te: kellen winslow. i just looked at the stats and this man is at the top or near at everything. his only down side is two fumbles. he leads the league in 1st down %, has touchdowns comparable to gates and gonzalez, and leads the AFC in yards and yards per catch. kellen winslow wins here.
t: joe thomas. tom brady has been sacked 10 times, derek anderson 8. thats including a game he didn't start but got his butt kicked anyways. anyone who says matt light is better is crazy. period.
g: jake scott. sorry, steiny but you gotta block for a rb that does something. scott helped make edge what he was and now is making addai look good. and he is an IDAHO VANDAL. the colts used to have 2 vandals on their line. you won't see any bsu players on this evaluation.
c: dan koppen. again, i hate that they are so good but you just don't ever see brady clutching himself in pain because he got rushed up from the middle. also, isn't the center the guy that points out the blocking responsibilities? ugh, i wish it could be hank. he rules. but is a close second to the offense thats better. EDIT: i know there are other better offenses but i died a little not voting for hank.
k: rob bironas. this really can't be argued. the guy has made the long ones and leads he afc in points as far as i can tell. whoever is putting vinny ahead is retarded.
st: you guys figure it out, i wish i had seen enough games to say a guy was the best. i really really do.
kr: josh cribbs, hands down. no argument, no homerism, the man has played amazingly. you just can't ask for more. awesome. thank you mr cribbs.

I am not going along with what many of you are saying.
Last season with the Bengals Stenbach was a Pro-Bowler.
This season, Steinbach has been injured many times (I swear he's missed a few games). He still leads all Guards in the AFC in Pro-Bowl ballots. Somehow I get the sense that he is there due to name recognition.
Cribbs is not there, yet his return average is higher than anybody else in the NFL. He has numerous special teams touchdowns. He is not leading the AFC voting. Instead it is a Patriot who has been hyped up by the media for every little thing he does. Simply because he is on the Patriots.
Kellen Winslow is not leading - he had better be right there in voting behind him. If not - it is a sham.
Braylon Edwards had better be one of the top recievers in votes. He has had a great season and if he doesn't go he is being robbed.
Now, Joe Thomas has had an amazing season. It should be Thomas leading instead of Steinbach.

I'm not sure what you're getting at. Steinbach was hurt in the pre-season.... he hasn't missed a regular season game and has been outstanding!!!
And Thomas is a tackle and Steinbach is a guard.... so why would one be ahead of the other?

I am saying among the O-linement on the Browns.
That, IMHO, Joe Thomas is the one that deserves praise. He is a rookie and he has come in and played outstanding.

He has but when it comes to fan voting, especially for a position like OL.. name recognition means everything. I'm a fairly involved fan of football and the only OL I can name (aside from the Browns) are those of pro-bowl caliber.... The right OG for the Jaguars could be the best OL ever and I wouldn't know it unless somebody told me or he got some media attention....

Exactly. There are too many players for most people to have a clue about. they vote for who they know.
I voted for the first time ever. I did it because I thought Joe, Eric and Hank all deserve it. I also voted for Braylon and winslow on offense, as well as Cribbs for special teams.
I voted for DA as a joke. Foe other votes I cast I did it only for players I have seen andread about having good years. I left a whole lot blank.

And a lot of people won't do that. They'll vote for their players that they think deserve it (some will vote straight homer)... then they will vote the obvious.. Manning, Brady, etc... then they will fill in players who are the household names, like Thomlinson, Gates, etc.... doesn't matter how good or bad they are doing that particular year, they were there last year so they must be good...

For all in tents and porpoises... It would be an absolute SHAM if Thomas, Winslow and Edwards don't go to the Pro Bowl. Winslow especially, isn't he leading all tight ends in yardage?

I'm just hoping that we don't have to have the annual "Why didn't (fill in the blank) go to the Pro Bowl" thread.

My thoughts exactly. With our past history of bad luck one of our guys would get hurt in the Pro Bowl.

This is just a beauty contest. I tried to vote for this but couldn't. I think Cribbs and Winslow should definately be up there also who will be the rookie of the year?
