i’ve seen Miami use him around the line of scrimmage as a gadget guy to get the edge. But returning is his forte obviously

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I think we signed him more than just his return attributes. He's excellent addition to our run attack as the Jet sweep guy and has a little Hill in him as a WR.

Now is not the time to mess with our QB situation. we need the impact draft pick at #13 not lose in a trade or have to use +++ to move up and get Malik Wills who is the only QB of merit in this draft.

He could be impactful as a slot receiver. He just hasn't played it all that much.

I think with Watson, we will see this guy thrive as a slot receiver. Watson likes to utilize speed down the field.

This kid is fast, and has some strength to break tackles as well.

The Browns don't need any more of those.
If that is all he becomes, he shouldn't make the roster.

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

When you have to reach back to the early 80's to make a comparison, it's the exception to the rule, not the rule.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Wasn't trying to make it a Rule just saying some Smurfs can play WR ...

Some can. And I guess it would also depend on what your definition of Smurf is has a great deal of relevance as to what those numbers are. His combine height lists him at just below 5'6".

Height: 65.88 inches

I don't think you'll find many NFL WR's quite "that Smurfy".

I definitely think Grant is a gadget receiver, but I think KS can use him in more ways than a couple of plays a game.

KS wanted a receiver for jet-sweeps.

In 11-personnel, having Cooper, Schwartz, and Grant will open the field on run plays.

Overall, I think Schwartz and Grant make a nice mix as your third and fourth or fourth and fifth receivers.

He's our new "motion right and run in a circle" guy.

Absolutely no sane mind should be looking at a player with a history of not producing as someone who is *magically* going to start producing. Dude is a returner and nothing more....and if we're planning to rely on him as more, we're hosed.

Browns is the Browns

... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

He's actually an appropriate addition to our arsenal of "weapons"...fits right in.

I have a weakness (well, one of many), and that's after watching these guys tie themselves up in knots on draft day and then get to the NFL. Screw it, I'm on board. Get this guy some targets. :-p

There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

Yeah hilarious - that was written right after DW turned our initial offer down and supposedly we were out of it. If you read further I was talking about drafting Willis but at that moment it was not the time to mess with the QB department if we wanted to win in 2022.

A perfect encapsulation of the situation. Grant is 29 and has 100 career receptions.

Grant is nothing more than a returner and MAYBE an end around/go deep once a game type player.

he’s not going to be running slants and post corners and stuff. And I’m really not thinking he’ll be a blocking WR, which is a big part of our O

Probably so, but a new team brings new opportunity.

We don't know how he will be used or if he actually ends up a decent receiving option.

Could be. I mean, is he better than Schwartz? That’s probably the role he’d have to take, right?
