Biden’s NIH May Have Colluded With University To Downplay Experiments On Babies
LAUREL DUGGAN
SOCIAL ISSUES AND CULTURE REPORTER
April 26, 2022
8:05 PM ET

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) scheduled meetings with the University of Pittsburgh (UP) after a UP leader asked for help deflecting public criticism over its fetal research, according to documents obtained by Judicial Watch.
UP researchers had come under fire for using federal funds to finance its goal of becoming a “tissue hub” for fetal remains, which it collects, harvests and distributes.
“Taxpayer funds obviously were being used because there were government officials at NIH working with the University of Pittsburgh to try to mitigate the public outrage at the fetal chop shop that was being run up there,” Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton told the Daily Caller News Foundation.
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) appears to have colluded with the University of Pittsburgh (UP) to dispel public outrage over its research on human fetal remains, including those obtained through abortions, according to documents obtained by Judicial Watch through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.

Dr. Jeremy Berg, associate senior vice chancellor for science strategy and planning in the health sciences at UP, asked then-director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Francis Collins for help in combatting negative media coverage in October 2021 after its experiments on human fetal remains were made public through a FOIA request. The NIH then arranged a meeting with UP to discuss the matter, emails revealed.

“Taxpayer funds obviously were being used because there were government officials at NIH working with the University of Pittsburgh to try to mitigate the public outrage at the fetal chop shop that was being run up there with public financing,” Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch, told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

UP claimed to have been collecting fetal tissue for over a decade, including liver, heart, gonads, legs, brain, kidneys, ureters and bladders, which it would “harvest and distribute” as part of its plan to “develop a pipeline to the acquisition, quality control and distribution of human … samples obtained throughout development (6-42 weeks gestation),” according to documents obtained by Judicial Watch.

Berg told Collins in his email that UP was the victim of organized attacks and said institutions needed to stand together against efforts to discredit fetal science.

“It seems that this is an organized attempt to delegitimize science based on fetal tissue rather than to identify misbehavior (although, of course, any misbehavior does create opportunities for outrage),” Berg’s email to Collins said. “In light of this, we feel that the scientific community would benefit if more institutions could stand together to take some of the power out of the one at-a-time strategy that appears to be operating.”

“We have a Zoom meeting scheduled with the Pitt VPR and team this Wednesday, October 20, at 9:30 AM,” Michael Lauer, NIH deputy director for extramural research, wrote in response to Collins sharing Berg’s email with several employees.

“Mike indicated that it is arranged,” Lawrence Tabak, then-principal deputy director of the NIH wrote in an email to Berg, appearing to refer to Lauer. Tabak also told Berg that he and Lauer were willing to meet with UP’s chancellor, Pat Gallagher, depending on the outcome of their meeting.

About $2.5 million in federal funds were spent supporting UP’s mission to become a “tissue hub” for human remains ranging from six to 42 weeks’ gestation (the typical pregnancy lasts approximately 40 weeks), according to Judicial Watch’s analysis of documents obtained from a separate 2021 FOIA lawsuit.

“We have disbursed over 300 fresh samples collected from 77 cases. The collections can be significantly ramped up as material could have been accrued from as many as 725 cases last year,” UP noted in the documents. (RELATED: ‘Direct Conflict’: GOP Demands Michigan Judge Recuse Herself From Major Abortion Case)

The university also sought to decrease the amount of time human remains were kept at room temperature following abortions in order to improve tissue quality for their experiments, according to Judicial Watch.

The NIH reversed the Trump administration’s ban on research using human remains obtained through elective abortions in April 2021.

Collins, Berg, the NIH and UP did not respond to the DCNF’s requests for comment.

Game Over: NYC Grand Jury Empaneled To Get Trump Will Not Be Extended After Expiring This Week
David HawkinsApril 27, 2022

CNN just broke the hearts of Democrats across the country and is reporting that the Manhattan grand jury looking into criminal charges against former President Donald Trump and his company will not be extended. Game over no charges.

And the jury expires at the end of this week meaning he is out of any legal jeopardy. At least for now, there is another grand jury in Atlanta set to be seated in May with testimony to start in June. Most experts believe if the Georgia prosecutor had the good she would have broght charges a long time ago. But she may be trying to play politics and do something before the midterms.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said earlier: “We’ve got a strong team of dedicated career prosecutors working day in and day out and following up on new evidence and going where the facts take us. There’s no magic in any previously reported schedule,” Bragg told CNN this month. “This investigation is going to be dictated by the facts we unearth.”

Mark Pomerantz, an outside hired lawyer hired to go after Trump was furios when Bragg refused to charge Trump and resigned.

He wrote in his resignation letter: “I write to tender my resignation as a Special Assistant District Attorney and to explain my reasons for resigning. As you know from our recent conversations and presentations, I believe that Donald Trump is guilty of numerous felony violations of the Penal Law in connection with the preparation and use of his annual Statements of Financial Condition.

“His financial statements were false, and he has a long history of fabricating information relating to his personal finances and lying about his assets to banks, the national media, counterparties, and many others, including the American people. The team that has been investigating Mr. Trump harbors no doubt about whether he committed crimes — he did.

“In late 2021, then-District Attorney Cyrus Vance directed a thorough review of the facts and law relating to Mr. Trump’s financial statements.
“Mr. Vance had been intimately involved in our investigation, attending grand jury presentations, sitting in on certain witness interviews, and receiving regular reports about the progress of the investigation. He concluded that the facts warranted prosecution, and he directed the team to present evidence to a grand jury and to seek an indictment of Mr. Trump and other defendants as soon as reasonably possible.

“This work was underway when you took office as District Attorney. You have devoted significant time and energy to understanding the evidence we have accumulated with respect to the Trump financial statements, as well as the applicable law.

“You have reached the decision not to go forward with the grand jury presentation and not to seek criminal charges at the present time. The investigation has been suspended indefinitely. Of course, that is your decision to make.

‘I do not question your authority to make it, and I accept that you have made it sincerely. However, a decision made in good faith may nevertheless be wrong.

“I believe that your decision not to prosecute Donald Trump now, and on the existing record, is misguided and completely contrary to the public interest. I therefore cannot continue in my current position.

“In my view, the public interest warrants the criminal prosecution of Mr. Trump, and such a prosecution should be brought without any further delay. Because of the complexity of the facts, the refusal of Mr. Trump and the Trump Organization to cooperate with our investigation, and their affirmative steps to frustrate our ability to follow the facts, this investigation has already consumed a great deal of time.

“As to Mr. Trump, the great bulk of the evidence relates to his management of the Trump Organization before he became President of the United States. These facts are already dated, and our ability to establish what happened may erode with the further passage of time. Many of the salient facts have been made public in proceedings brought by the Office of the Attorney General, and the public has rightly inquired about the pace of our investigation.

“Most importantly, the further passage of time will raise additional questions about the failure to hold Mr. Trump accountable for his criminal conduct.

“To the extent you have raised issues as to the legal and factual sufficiency of our case and the likelihood that a prosecution would succeed, I and others have advised you that we have evidence sufficient to establish Mr. Trump’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, and we believe that the prosecution would prevail if charges were brought and the matter were tried to an impartial jury.

“No case is perfect. Whatever the risks of bringing the case may be, I am convinced that a failure to prosecute will pose much greater risks in terms of public confidence in the fair administration of justice.

“As I have suggested to you, respect for the rule of law, and the need to reinforce the bedrock proposition that “no man is above the law,” require that this prosecution be brought even if a conviction is not certain.

“I also do not believe that suspending the investigation pending future developments will lead to a stronger case or dispel your reluctance to bring charges. No events are likely to occur that will alter the nature of the case or dramatically change the quality or quantity of the evidence available to the prosecution.

“There are always additional facts to be pursued. But the investigative team that has been working on this matter for many months does not believe that it makes law enforcement sense to postpone a prosecution in the hope that additional evidence will somehow emerge.

“On the contrary, I and others believe that your decision not to authorize prosecution now will doom any future prospects that Mr. Trump will be prosecuted for the criminal conduct we have been investigating.

“I fear that your decision means that Mr. Trump will not be held fully accountable for his crimes.

“I have worked too hard as a lawyer, and for too long, now to become a passive participant in what I believe to be a grave failure of justice.

“I therefore resign from my position as a Special Assistant District Attorney, effective immediately,” he wrote.

Biden Promises To ‘Accommodate’ Putin’s Allies, Then Starts Laughing
By Tom Pappert
Published 4 hours ago

Joe Biden struggled to speak earlier today as he discussed specific actions the United States is taking to punish those close to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Biden promised to “accommodate” the “oligarchs” before laughing twice.

Biden promised to “Enhance our underlying effort to accommodate the Russian oligarchs and make sure we take their, take their ill begotten gains.”

At this point, Biden apparently realized he got a word wrong, and began laughing.

“We’re going to accommodate them,” said Biden, fighting laughter.

“We’re going to seize their yachts, their luxury homes, and other ill begotten gains of Putin’s kleptocric– yeah, kleptocracy, the guys who are the kleptocracies,” Biden said before laughing again. He then summarized, “But these are bad guys.”

Biden made the remarks while asking Congress for another $33 billion to fund Ukraine’s defense against Russia’s “special military operation” to demilitarize and “denazify” the country.

He attempted to suggest that the additional funding would help the White House punish Russian oligarchs who are believed to be key to Putin’s base of power in Russia.

This is the latest verbal blunder for the U.S. President whose public appearances have come to be marked by incoherent, slurred speech and awkward interpersonal interactions.

Most recently, his involvement at the White House Easter Egg Roll event became a lightning rod for conservatives who say Biden’s mental health is not adequate for the White House.

Biden was told to wave and sit by First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, was redirected away from small children by the Easter Bunny, and complained that Dr. Biden would not let him read a children’s book.

Around that time, Biden appeared to shake hands with no one while on an empty stage. Fact checkers were quick to claim that he was not shaking hands with thin air.

Just before that, Biden seemed to suggest the United States may launch a chemical weapons attack on Russia and told troops stationed in Poland that they were going to Ukraine. He also called for regime change in Russia, saying it was impossible for Putin to continue leading after the 2022 invasion of Ukraine.

Biden later claimed that none of this happened, though the White House repeatedly corrected its executive when he made the verbal blunders.

Perhaps explaining Biden’s words earlier this week, outgoing press secretary Jen Psaki – who is leaving the administration to host a web show for MSNBC – explained that Biden gets “frustrated” when his “passions” are ignored, or when his critics impose “limitations” on his behavior.

‘This Is A Mobile Morgue’: Chip Roy Rips Into Secretary Mayorkas, Biden Administration’s Immigration Policy
HENRY RODGERS
SENIOR CONGRESSIONAL CORRESPONDENT
April 28, 2022
4:30 PM ET

Republican Texas Rep. Chip Roy ripped Department of Homeland (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas during a Thursday hearing, showing photos of those who have died due to the ongoing border crisis.

During Roy’s time to question Mayorkas during the House Judiciary Committee, he grilled Mayorkas with photos of dead bodies, mobile morgues, dead livestock and more. Roy and Republicans have continued to press Mayorkas about the crisis at the border.

“Mr. Secretary, do you know what this is? This is a mobile morgue, a body trailer needed by counties in south Texas overwhelmed by dead migrants. That particular trailer is filled with these bodies. Twenty-seven bodies that were stored in this mobile morgue in south Texas with dead bodies of migrants. Dead bodies like this one found on a ranch just three weeks ago in south Texas, a dead migrant. Somehow that’s compassion,” Roy said to Mayorkas.

“How about the dead bodies found by migrants? Compassion? How about the ranchers, who had to walk out of their door and this is what they faced, gentleman with rocks threatening a rancher in south Texas, only able to be saved when they are able to bring their dogs out to scare the people away in order to save themselves,” Roy continued.

“Or the fact that you got houses being attacked, you got livestock dead on the side, because we’ve got ranches wide open. How about the little girl here with a brand on her arm, a little girl with a brand on her arm because of your policies? A little girl here in the desert found by ranchers trying to save their life. And how about the lost voices for people dying from fentanyl, the tens of thousands of Americans dying from fentanyl? Faces, faces of Americans, faces of Americans across this country dying because of fentanyl pouring into our country because of your policies that you know full well,” he added.

Border agents encountered a record two million migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border in 2021. In fiscal 2021, they seized $3.31 billion in counterfeit goods, over 319,000 pounds of marijuana, over 190,000 pounds of methamphetamine and over 97,000 pounds of cocaine.

“You’re encouraging cartels, encouraging people to come here, harming Texas and harming this country. You know it and you’re ignoring the actual truth!,” Roy concluded.

Republican lawmakers on The Republican Study Committee are reportedly preparing to impeach Mayorkas.

Biden’s New Disinformation Governance Board Is ALREADY Expanding Its Scope
BY ROBERT SPENCER APR 29, 2022 1:01 PM ET

Old Joe Biden’s ominous Disinformation Governance Board has just been announced, and it’s already expanding the scope of its responsibilities. Of course, that’s what government agencies do. They’re always looking to justify and increase their budgets, and so they’re always looking for new things to involve themselves in. But in this case, the expansion makes the agency in question even more dangerous to the American people than it was already.

When Politico revealed the existence of the Board in an offhanded statement buried 60 paragraphs down in its Wednesday “Politico Playbook,” it said that the Department of Homeland Security was “standing up a new Disinformation Governance Board to coordinate countering misinformation related to homeland security, focused specifically on irregular migration and Russia.” DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, however, went farther than that almost immediately, saying on Thursday: “We have just established a mis- and disinformation governance board in the Department of Homeland Security to more effectively combat this threat not only to election security, but to our homeland security.” And when Jen Psaki defended Biden’s new Ministry of Truth on Thursday, she went farther still: “We know there has been a range of [disinformation] out there about a range of topics, I mean, including COVID for example, and also elections and eligibility.”

Was Psaki announcing more responsibilities for the Disinformation Governance Board, beyond what Politico had reported and what Mayorkas had said? It was hard to tell, as she sounded as if she was simply pointing out some of the areas in which supposed “disinformation” had circulated. However, she is the press secretary. What she says is generally the official line of the Biden administration. If she didn’t mean to say that the Disinformation Governance Board will be clamping down on what Biden’s handlers claim is “disinformation” about COVID and eligibility (we already know from Mayorkas that the Board will be working against election “disinformation”), she will have to make an additional clarifying statement. Whether or not she does that, it is also true that when Fox’s Jacqui Heinrich asked for more details about what exactly the Disinformation Governance Board would be doing, Psaki professed not to have much information: “I really haven’t dug into this exactly, I mean, we of course support this effort but let me see if I can get more specifics.”

Yes, of course Psaki supports this flagrantly unconstitutional effort to police what Americans say and think. She even professed to be surprised that anyone would oppose this sinister new initiative: “It sounds like the objective of the board is to prevent disinformation and misinformation from traveling around the country in a range of communities. I’m not sure who opposes that effort.”

Related: FREE SPEECH ALERT: DHS Setting up New ‘Disinformation Governance Board’

Well, let’s start with everyone who realizes that yesterday’s “disinformation” — Trump didn’t collude with Russia, Hunter Biden’s laptop contains evidence of influence-peddling with Joe Biden’s involvement — is today’s breaking news. Then there are those who are deeply concerned that the government will crack down on dissenting opinions under the guise of fighting “disinformation.” In short, anyone who understands the vital importance of the freedom of speech will oppose the very existence of the Disinformation Governance Board, and be even more alarmed by the fact that it started out on Wednesday focusing on alleged disinformation concerning illegal migration and Russia, and by the very next day had already apparently expanded its purview to include COVID, as well as “elections and eligibility.”

Some of the critics of the new board are speaking out. Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Missouri) tweeted: “Rather than police our border, Homeland Security has decided to make policing Americans’ speech its top priority. They’re creating a Disinformation Board. No, really. And take a look at the views of the leftist radical running it.” Hawley then included screenshots of tweets from the new Disinformation Governance Board top dog, Nina Jankowicz, in which she referred to “America’s systemic racism,” criticized (oh, the irony, it burns) Trump for “authoritarianism,” and warned against “free speech absolutists” (that one was just from last Monday). As PJ’s Rick Moran detailed Thursday, Jankowicz is an experienced disinformation peddler herself, which only makes her appointment even more of a concern: it’s clear that Biden’s handlers aren’t trying to maintain even a semblance of even-handedness here. When they say “disinformation,” they mean “conservative opinions” and “criticism of the Left.”

There is plenty more of that criticism in areas other than those Alejandro Mayorkas and Jen Psaki have already enumerated as the responsibilities of the Disinformation Governance Board. So watch for its mission to expand even more. And more. And more.

This is what happens when one party CAN NOT TELL THE TRUTH, DENIES SCIENCE, MAKES UP ITS OWN "ALT" FACTS, ACT INFANTILE IN CONGRESS AND ON THE STREETS, CRIES WOLF ABOUT EVERYTHING THEY DISLIKE, and IS COMPLETELY UNTRUSTWORTHY. This is but one example of the world we live in today...THE ABILITY TO LIE is a core value for many politicians (foreign & domestic), talking-heads and individuals. Those who value the truth welcome new offices such as "The Disinformation Governance Board"... the new Department of Homeland Security office that will help to counter “misinformation” and “disinformation.”

Some of those complaining the loudest about the new DHS office are the very individuals and organizations that have been caught lying over the last few years...and now you know why they are complaining.

Great idea..!

Good quote and good point to bring up 40. I think people in general are good, even Trumpians. But when they are being preyed upon by a criminal fraudulent wordsmith, and I use that term lightly, the worst can be brought out. Jan 6th is a prime example, but so is gun toting militia types storming state houses. And before you scream BLM or Antifa, those are both groups formed in reaction to the government not taking steps to protect us from police and general political thuggery. People dying is not the same as mAh RiGhTs. As for the rioters during the BLM protests, they should have been prosecuted, and many were. And Antifa is nothing more than a Trumpian boogeyman. Patriots who punch Nazis (let's just say bad actors) in the nose, that is Truly what made this country great during and after WWII. And I know I throw fascism and Nazi around a lot, but that is who Trump and his criminal organization are at heart. Screw em and anybody who promotes them, they get what they get. I don't care.

But understand that I don't feel this way about conservatives or old school republicans. It is the tea party element and Trump element that has taken things to the extremes, refusing to cooperate and compromise with the other side. And that failure to give and take has turned us on each other. You and I did not do that, it started at the top. Now people can't even agree on facts. This is mind boggling to me. Some things are true, proven by science, yet denied and ignored by those who want either a return to yesteryear, or a government that places their priorities over others, at the expense of whoever gets in their way. Neither of these reflect basic American values, or what I used to think those were anyway. Plainly, after seeing Trump dodge justice so many times, I don't believe America, or the right half stand for much of anything but greed, power, and themselves. We've seen the racism, hate rhetoric, white supremacy, authoritarian BS, and complete withdrawal from civility on the right. That demands the left take a hard line stance against it, and that's where we are.

But as your quote states, we are all human, and not always good souls. This is why we have rules and norms acceptable to the majority (you can't please 100% of the people), or used to before 2008. But your side of the aisle made a point to go busting all those rules and norms that they dislike, even though your party agreed with and followed them for decades or more. Every major piece of legislation prior to Obama, was hashed out and agreed to in compromise OR on a moral principled basis. This is why murder, theft, etc. is against the law. This is why we have the constitution. But now, the right acts like spoiled children who think they don't have to play by the same rules as everyone else. Hell, they want to impose rules on others that don't apply to them! That's NEVER going to fly here, and should be called out for what it is... fascism.

So I made a good point according to you but you turned it into a "Your Side, My Side" thang again.

Please don't make me post the list of Lies, Fake News, False Accusations and deceit the Left and the Media have been responsible for in the last decade.

Great idea..!

This is a terrible idea. Who will determine what is misinformation? The government. On the surface it sounds good because they are only thinking about misinformation that is easily black & white(like Trumps lies about the 2020 election). What happens when it is not so black & white? The government will determine what the "truth" is and anyone that says otherwise will be thrown in the gulag. Remember the drone strike that was ordered to kill those involved with the airport attack in Afghanistan last year? Turned out we bombed a bunch of civilians instead. Government would then be able to label talk of killing civilians as 'misinformation' and silence anyone who brought it up. Do you think thats a good thing? That fact that it was talked about forced the US to eventually admit it's mistake. This disinformation board would allow the government to sweep something like this under the rug.

Something else to consider, how would a corrupt government official abuse this? Imagine if this board of disinformation existed under Trump. He would use it to silence anyone that said he lost the election. This board is one of those things that may sound good in theory, but in reality will result in more bad than good. People think of this board as a way to silence the insurrectionists. It won't stop there. It will go beyond that. In the end, this board would be assault on the first amendment. Anyone who claims to be pro-constitution should be against this. Instead, we see people supporting it.

I think it's actually a terrible idea. I'm all for more accountability in what politicians spew. Both parties either exaggerate out outright lie. But when a political party can appoint and determine what is truth and what is not, every time there is a shift in power it will be used against the very people who promoted it. Much like doing away with the filibuster. It sounds great if you're the party in power. But soon it will be the other party that's in power. Then the very tool you promoted to get your way will come back to bite you in the ass.

I think you should be required to label every post as either fact or opinion so that it is clear.
The if you post "facts" that are not indeed facts there is some kind of punishment.
Something small such as a 1 day suspension for 1st time offenders and escalating for each repeat offense
The details are beyond the scope of this post

Biden Has Already Done More for Rural America Than Trump Ever Did

April 26, 2022
By Robert Leonard

Mr. Leonard, the author of “Deep Midwest: Midwestern Exploration,” has written extensively about the politics and culture of Iowa and the Midwest.

KNOXVILLE, Iowa — In 2020, Donald Trump won this state, and its governor and two U.S. senators are Republicans. Just one of Iowa’s four House representatives is a Democrat, and it has not voted for a Democratic presidential candidate since 2012.

Yet there was President Biden with our one Democratic representative, Cindy Axne, in Menlo (population 345), about 45 miles west of Des Moines, to publicize a policy change about ethanol that could help ease gas prices and expand the rural economy. He was there even though he lost Menlo’s county, Guthrie, to Mr. Trump in 2020 by a whopping 36 percentage points.

In under two years in office, President Biden has done more for places like Guthrie County and other parts of rural America than Mr. Trump ever did. The rural economy is stronger, wages are higher and infrastructure projects are popping up all over.

Mr. Biden and his fellow Democrats are responsible for many of the improvements and for bringing back a sense of stability. For the midterms, they should run on these successes — the American Rescue Plan, the infrastructure bill. And they should run on why they have worked: Democrats should run on Democratic values.

Mr. Biden promised to be a president “for all Americans.” He stressed building things and working with Republicans — and he has succeeded, most prominently on the bipartisan infrastructure bill (supported by our Republican senator Chuck Grassley).

Here in Marion County, where I live, some modest investments will make a big difference, like partial funding of a new shop for road equipment, which will extend the life of expensive equipment by sheltering it from rain and snow, or the repairs and upgrades at the law enforcement and public health centers and at the courthouse.

Last week, Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg and Representative Axne noted that $5 billion from the infrastructure bill will reach Iowa and is targeted to help rural areas. The infrastructure bill is so obviously beneficial to the communities that even Republicans who voted against it are taking credit.

Inflation is a big problem here, as it is everywhere. But Mr. Biden is doing what he can to alleviate its impact. In Menlo, he announced that he was temporarily lifting environmental restrictions on the sale of gasoline with 15 percent ethanol, called E15, to help lower fuel costs and our nation’s dependence on foreign oil.

Furthermore, many places far from cities are facing health care crises, with more than 450 rural hospitals in danger of closing. With funds from the American Rescue Plan, the Biden administration program Emergency Rural Health Care Grants will award up to $43 million to benefit 2.2 million people across 22 states.

It’s not all about what the president has done; some of his success is in what he has undone or cleaned up. Last May, Mr. Biden ended the ill-conceived Farmers to Families Food Box Program, which was intended to get provisions to families. Some families benefited, but it was unfortunately, at the height of the pandemic, a boondoggle. A new supply chain had to get the boxes from farmers to food banks that competed directly with local grocery stores. The program was mismanaged and used for political gain.

It would have been much more cost-efficient to expand SNAP payments, which the Biden administration did. A report from the Department of Agriculture shows that federal food benefits have more than twice the impact on rural communities as they do in urban areas.

It was largely overlooked at the time, but Mr. Trump’s trade wars and tariffs inflicted a lot of damage in some rural areas reliant on food exports — so much so that the government made payouts to farmers of about $46 billion. He actually told farmers that they were better off with government payouts, which cost more than the government spends each year on the State Department or children’s health insurance, than selling overseas.

Every farmer I know would rather have markets than payments. Record high commodity prices under President Biden have weaned farmers off government support. The Biden administration has reduced some tariffs, though many farmers would like it to be more aggressive, especially with China and other countries in the Indo-Pacific.

And the Biden administration recently said that it intends to provide $1 billion in American Rescue Plan funds to help independent meat producers be more competitive. This will help make our food supply more resilient, addressing problems exposed at the height of the pandemic.

So will what President Biden has done for so many rural Americans improve the electoral fortunes of Democrats in places like Iowa? When it comes to the midterms, the problem is not really about Mr. Biden himself but about long-running trends, and the only way to alter those trends is to change the perception of Democrats on the national level.

This year, much of it will depend on what Democrats do before November, and how they engage. As I said, they should celebrate victories — like the American Rescue Plan, which supported a wave of spending on construction projects and programs across America. Too often, Democrats leave it to Republicans to set the agenda and frame issues, or blame conservative media.

Democrats should be proud of what the party has been and is — the party of Social Security, Medicare and Obamacare, of greater opportunity for more and more Americans — and what it stands for, and its values: for smart government being part of the solution, not the problem; for health care as a right, not a privilege; for clean water and air and effective climate solutions; for taxation that doesn’t favor the rich; for equal opportunity for all; for life chances and opportunities that aren’t determined by one’s ZIP code, race, gender, faith, sexual orientation or gender identity.

These are Democratic values. They can play everywhere, including in rural America. Run on those.

I agree. If Biden and company were one tenth as braggadocios as Trump and company, there would be no question about the dems running the table in 22 and 24.

Tulsi: Is Obama Really Behind “Ministry of Truth”?
By J.D. Rucker • May. 1, 2022

Former Democrat Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard offered an interesting theory. What if the new Disinformation Governance Board, aka “Ministry o Truth,” really the work of Barack Obama and not Joe Biden?

It seems plausible. In fact, if you believe that Obama is part of the globalist elites who are trying to control or destroy us all as the New World Order, then this seems almost certain. According to Fox News:

Former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard suggested that former President Barack Obama is behind the effort to establish a Disinformation Governance Board, which she likened to George Orwell’s famed “Ministry of Truth.”

“Biden is just a front man,” Gabbard said on Twitter Sunday. “Obama, April 21: social media censors ‘don’t go far enough,’ so the government needs to step in to do the job. Six days later, Homeland Security rolls out the ‘Ministry of Truth’ (aka Disinformation Governance Board).”

Gabbard, a Democrat, was referencing Obama’s speech at Stanford University last week, where he argued tech companies have a hard time moderating content on their own and called for more oversight.

“Now the good news is that almost all the big tech platforms now acknowledge some responsibility for content on their platforms, and they’re investing in large team of people to monitor it,” Obama said during the speech. “Given the sheer volume of content, this strategy can feel like a game of Whac-A-Mole.”

Joe Biden is just a guy they can control. Is Barack Obama actually the one calling the shots in America at the behest of people like Klaus Schwab, George Soros, and Bill Gates? It seems very likely.

Opinion piece/essay.

From an Iowan that must not be a farmer? Ever hear of inflation? Cost of seed, cost of fertilizer, cost of fuel? Apparently not.

Ever hear of what just those costs alone will do to price of food? Apparently not.

Watch Biden Laugh at Americans Suffering From High Prices
Todd Starnes May 1, 2022

There were a number of cringe-worthy moments during the annual White House Correspondent’s Association. But one of the worst happened when President Biden laughed at Americans who are struggling to put food on the table.

“Since you’ve come into office, things are really looking up. Gas is up, rent is up, food is up! Everything,” comedian Trevor Noah said.

President Biden laughed heartily.

Americans who can’t afford to buy groceries is no laughing matter, Mr. President. Watch below.

‘Never Let A Crisis Go To Waste’: Biden Official Celebrates Fertilizer Shortages Forcing Farmers To Seek ‘Natural Solutions’
Infowars.com
May 1st 2022, 12:41 pm

Biden official Samantha Power celebrated the global fertilizer shortage resulting from the Ukraine conflict, claiming it will “hasten transitions” for farmers to use “natural solutions.”

Power, who now serves as the Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), said the fertilizer shortages are actually “in the interest of farmers”, claiming “manure and compost” are more eco-friendly alternatives.

“Fertilizer shortages are real now because Russia is a big exporter of fertilizer,” Power said told ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday. “And even though fertilizer is not sanctioned, less fertilizer is coming out of Russia. As a result, we’re working with countries to think about natural solutions like manure and compost.”

“And this may hasten transitions that would have been in the interest of farmers to make eventually anyway. So, never let a crisis go to waste,” she said.

“But we really do need this financial support from the Congress to be able to meet emergency food needs to we don’t see the cascading deadly effects of Russia’s war extend into Africa and beyond,” Power added.

Fertilizer costs have nearly doubled over the last year, thanks in part to the fertilizer shortage ginned up from the Russia-Ukraine war.

The shortage is continuing to drive up the price of food and commodities immensely, with the Department of Agriculture predicting that food prices will continue to rise by at least 5% over the next year.

“If you think paying $10 for a pound of bacon or $6 for a pound of butter is bad, it’s about to get more expensive,” USA Today wrote.

Skyrocketing food costs are now threatening food security not just in the third world, but the developed world as well.

From Bloomberg:

For the billions of people around the world who don’t work in agriculture, the global shortage of affordable fertilizer likely reads like a distant problem. In truth, it will leave no household unscathed.

In even the least-disruptive scenario, soaring prices for synthetic nutrients will result in lower crop yields and higher grocery-store prices for everything from milk to beef to packaged foods for months or even years to come across the developed world.

And in developing economies already facing high levels of food insecurity? Lower fertilizer use risks engendering malnutrition, political unrest and, ultimately, the otherwise avoidable loss of human life.

As Power suggested, the elite won’t let this avoidable “crisis go to waste” if it can advance the left’s Great Reset agenda.

Right?

That's like watching a neighborhood burned down by arsonists and complaining about the color of the fire trucks.

Sad.

lmao, and that is why I put him on ignore. He knows damn well that's a crap ass source. He also knows I didn't take exception because I don't even bother to read that drivel. Even if it has a trace of truth, that ish is full of lies just because the source is a demented alt-right master troll. Fate, did you fall down the Q well too? lmao, smfh.

But since I know arch may not be able to breathe unless he gets his pound of flesh… Yes, there is inflation and Joe Biden did not cause it. We are where we are for numerous reasons. BUT let's talk about how strong the economy is. Let's talk about a bounce back after Trump's coup took the air out of the sails. So no, I don't even remotely care about your whine tonight or any other day arch. Just stop messaging me, I don't read you.

arch...Info Wars...?

Alex Jones...?

That was the guy who said the massacre at Sandy Hook and the 9/11 attacks were "false flag" events.

InfoWars is described as a far-right group that deals in fake news and conspiracy theories owned by Alex Jones..not a very reputable source for any kind of information, imo.

It's odd how the longer things continue the more what used to be considered normal people become an advocate for the fringe element.
