Not to rain on OSU's parade but ESPN is now reporting that Carr will announce his retirement on monday.

Don't see how that rains on the parade, other than it steps the competition up a notch, like it oughta' be,....

My insiders tell me -- (actually, informed me earlier this week) -- that Miles has already purchased a home in Ann Arbor,....if so, then this was a done deal a long time ago.

I'm glad he's leaving; the program needs to head in a different direction. Carr thought like a 'college' coach and the higher echelon have moved beyond him. Can't wait to see who replaces him.

Congrats Buckeye fans.

So I should say were going to lose?

No but it's UM/OSU... never know how it's going to go.

And Tressel came in his first year and won when no one thought he had a chance.....

I expect us to win every time But you never know how it's going to play out.

My only fear with Miles is that he might be loyal to some of Lloyd's assistants. I'd like to see English stay but everyone else can be given their walking papers IMO.

lmao... ummm no... Carr hasn't 'offiically' retired yet... and with LSU having two more games to go besides a bowl game I seriously doubt Les is going to say a damn thing until after the SEC championship...

No,...but IF my source is good -- and I'll admit it's only as good as the next-door-neighbor -- and Miles has put an offer on a home in Michigan, Michigan grad, Michigan ballplayer, what does that tell you ??

Either that, or LSU comes back in really hard with more money.

Money talks, but heart walks. I say, take The Job, Les.

I just saw that it said the presser was Monday not this very minute as I was wishing.

I think he will. He went to UM, played for the Wolverines and was incredibly close to Bo. Regardless of the money, I don't see Miles turning down the UM job.

j/w...what's so great about Ron English besides the fact that he's the most famous d-coodinator in football? (mainly thanks to the press...I haven't seen anything impressive out of him).

Doesn't anyone for a moment think that the importance, if any, of this rivalry dictates that Carr at least be replaced ?? In some fashion ??

Call it what you want, but he's gonna "retire" for failure to beat Ohio State.

GodSpeed and best of wishes beating whatever (reported) health problems he has.

He may be the John Cooper of UM but he's still not John Cooper. The John Cooper of UM is having the most active Big Ten wins, 5 conference titles and a National Championship. While I think he's not a great coach, it's still not terrible. As many have said, his failure to beat Tressel is what eventually pushed him out but 13 years as a head coach at one school is still a hell of an accomplishment.

I can't see how it wouldn't. I bet wherever Bo is he's glad he didn't have to live through today's loss or this year's disappointments.

Maybe it'd have been better if he was more Cooperesque, he'd have been easier to get rid of. Poor Lloyd. I never call for anyone's head in college ball but I'm glad his time is over.

Had Bo lived to see this season, he would have only made it to the 1st week of the season.

Comparing Carr to Cooper is as about as worthless as comparing Tressel to Carr. And the only reason Michigan was as good as it was during the Cooper years and sustained the record it did was because it had to drive through Columbus.

i think it plays a role, but it's not the entire reason...

how about their play in bowl games recently?

the appalachain state fiasco?

and also their recent pre-season hype the last few years, only to never live up to expectation...

I can't wait to start beating the hell out of that arrogant Les Miles. I don't care if he is from Elyria, I can't wait for Tressel to own his butt too.

Dawg, I'm pulling for you now,...but you don't own the tiebreaker. That makes us Kentucky fans,....yuck.

To be honest, I was rooting for Kentucky yesterday, but I figure now that you've eliminated the Gators, you're as good a shot as any to beat LSU,....

ESPN news said that Lloyd secured 2 year guaranteed "no fire" contracts for most of his assistants.

I had a lot of respect for Mike Hart prior to the game. When he laid a textbook block on Chekwa, I didn't think it was a big deal, but, when he started taunting Chekwa by standing over him, I realized that he has no class.
It was nice to see Chekwa push him back, and then get in his face every time Hart got hit behind the line of scrimmage. -Which happened a lot.

It was also nice to read Hart's quote that was displayed by the commentators during the first quarter "Getting beat by Ohio State is irritating, I'd rather lose to Appalachian State than to Ohio State." -Well Mike, sorry about your luck, but you, and those two other big seniors you came back with just got trampled by Ohio State again.

Many, many reasons. Mostly because of his actions on the field, some by saying "The SEC is so much better than PAC-10." He too me is Michigan through and through, a cocky a-hole.
