ow that we have made our final selection and round 7 is coming towards a close, it's time to look for the undrafted free agents.

If you were an undrafted TE or DT, is there any team you would rather sign with than us?
If you were an undrafted Wr is there any team you would rather sing with than us other than GB?

You didn't post a thread about pick #246 to the Browns Dawson Deaton C Texas Tech?

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

BREAKING: The #Browns are signing former Northern Iowa WR Isaiah Weston, per source. Weston is a 6-4, 210 pound WR that ran a 4.42, leaped a 40 inch vertical and 135 inch Broad Jump en route to a 9.99 RAS score.

Because the tweet isn't showing for me.

I’d expect us to sign a handful of LB guys. We need to find a depth dude there

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I like LBers, safeties, and some corners to help on Special Teams. It amazes me how some front offices don't value Special Teams.

I'm hoping for Kevin Austin WrND
Slow start to his college career
Good season in 2021 led the team in receiving yards 888
Had 7 TD's

When I watch him run I see Josh Gordon (Without the drug issue)

I am also hoping for Jalem Wydermyer TE Teas A&M
#2 TE in the draft before he ran a 5+ 40 yrd dash but he plays faster than that
Worth bringing in to take a look

I agree, but would also include some coaches. Remember when starters like Clay Matthews would be on a special team unit?

If GM's don't bring in guys who can play special teams, the coach should play whoever he has to play to have a good unit on the field.

I also remember a time when the special teams coach could select 1-2 players on the final squad as his players so to speak. I wonder if that is still the case? I tend to think not as GM's more and more have roster control and special teams players have usually been mostly bottom of the roster guys.

I like this class of undrafted free agents that we have signed. I particularly find Isaiah Weston, WR, and Silas Kelly, intriguing although I know little about them....

I don't know anything about any of them. I do know each year we say we like the class, and every now and then there is someone of note, but most get cut. Maybe 1 or 2 stick in some form. Trying to figure out who that might be is another story.

I hope each is able to give it their best shot. If it's good enough, good for them. And really, good for the ones to have even been able to take it this far.

You'd think he would have gotten drafted for sure based on those tweets..... so, where's the unspoken bits about the reality of what he is?

As with all scouting reports they must be taken with a grain of salt so I can't speak about how accurate it is but this at least lists the positives and negatives....

Overview

One-speed route runner with the height, weight and speed to beat up on FCS opponents down the field. His primary function was to stretch and challenge defenses vertically, but he appears to have the physical tools to become a more nuanced route runner with more coaching. Weston will find that getting a clean release and outracing an NFL cornerback will be a much greater challenge. The downfield ball skills can be spectacular at times and his productivity would have skyrocketed with a more accurate quarterback. There is upside worthy of exploring but it might be as a late-round pick with an early home on the practice squad.

Strengths

Long body type with NFL proportions.
Flexible, fast and athletic.
Leverages coverage to create a clean runway vertically.
Build-up speed to blow by FCS cornerbacks.
Gets the most out of his catch radius.
Length and lift to go up and swipe the jump ball.
Displayed improvement in making contested catches.

Weaknesses

Might need additional time to clear press corners.
Routes are run at a monotonous tempo.
Needs to locate and adjust to deep balls quicker.
Too delayed in framing and bodying up defenders.
Career drop rate is a bit high.
Feet need additional runway to gather and open for comebacks.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Weston could make this team, possibly over schwartz

I like Travell Harris, because he's only 5'9, because he played at Washington State, and because he was 2nd in the pac 10 in rec. tds' with 9 and because he had 62 catches last year. And because he has everything to prove. And because why not, he has just as much chance as anyone else.
I'd like to see Felton on one side, Travel Harris on another side, and see who gets consistently more open on those quick quick, super quick reads.
It's just a body frame thing, I think those guys 6'2-6'5 plus, can't get small like the less tall guys.

I liked the center Hoffman late in the draft, thought he would get drafted late in the draft...good udfa signing. I know a lot of folks were high on Shaun Jolly as well (CB)

Looks like Glen Logan, DT, LSU was well regarded and sought after given his 60K guaranteed signing bonus.

he was hurt 7-8 games last year but is considered a stout run defender. he might have a good chance to stick.

I like that we’ve prioritized DT

Love the tape and the nickname! Maybe we can send a game film to Woods. Like the approach for THE Mullett and Co.

Drew went to a local high school then went to Penn State. The wife and I are good friends with his Parents. Such a cool thing! So happy for him. He worked his butt off.
