We all had our draft favorites and now that we know which teams these guys ended up with, it's time for predicting the Offensive and Defensive Rookies of the Year.

Offense: I'm going w/Garrett Wilson. I have big questions about his qb, but the Jets say they have no questions about him. I do know that Wilson is the most complete receiver in the draft. He can make contested catches, but he also gets so wide open so he doesn't have to rely on that as often as a guy like London. He's way more physical than his frame would suggest. He throws guys around at times. He is so acrobatic. I think the Jets will get him the ball a lot. I mean a lot. I see a Justin Jefferson type of year for Wilson.

Defense: I am going to go with Kyle Hamilton. I thought this guy was excellent in college. While his 40 speed wasn't great, I didn't see anyone cover more ground in college than Hamilton did. He's all over the place. You can move him around. Deep, intermediate, in the box, etc. He also seems very smart. He will be a day one starter and I think he has the opportunity to make a ton of eye-catching plays.

How ridiculous it is to have this thread out so early.

Vegas put out odds earlier. The site I visited had Picket on Offense and Hutchinson on defense.

super...yea, seems to me we might want to see how these guys play at least half a season before we even think about "speculating" on who might be the RoY for 2022. A waste of time to put any thought into this subject, imo.

Some may have missed this.

Kinda hard to make a prediction after you have watched them play. Not sure I understand the need to knock the thread. If you are not interested, just ignore it.

You put speculating in quotation marks. I clearly used the word "prediction." Will you please show me where I used the word "speculating?" Jesus........so many of you are here just for the fight.

I can see Pickett since he is probably the only rookie QB. However I think he will be average at best so I am going with a receiver. I want to say Watson but Aaron Rodgers doesn't usually like rookies so I'm going with Skyy Moore. Mahomes will make him a star.

I need more time to decide on the Defensive rookie.

I read three of the Vegas sites before I posted this and that is what got me interested. I forget which site it was, but Skyy Moore was up there on at least one of them. Makes sense to me because of Reid's scheming and Mahomes ability. When I made the thread, I was thinking about how certain guys fit in their new location. For example, London might be really good, but he has Mariotta throwing him the ball and Pitts, while being a TE, is a similar type of receiver.

Btw........thanks Dawg for dealing w/the topic. I appreciate it.

I'm not a college ball guy so I'm not really a draft guy either so I'm just gonna go with Cade York as ROTY. thumbsup

I think I'll go Olave with Jameis in New Orleans for offensive ROY. While Jameis isn't the best QB, he throws a good deep ball and hasn't been afraid to take chances. That seems to complement Olave's skillset. Throw in that they gave up a decent bit of draft capital to select him and he'll probably get a lot of usage to justify the selection. Plus, there's the dome factor.

Ezukanma is my dark horse. Miami was a great landing spot for him and McDaniel a great playcaller for him. Deebo (lite) was my comp for Ezukanma. It seems to me that McDaniel may have seen similarities as well. With Tyreek Hill and Jalen Waddle to stretch defenses, there could be lots of room underneath.

On defense, I'll go Bonitto in Denver. They have a good secondary and, with Wilson in Denver now, opponents will probably have to pass a good bit. Mahomes likes to try to extend plays, and the Raiders and Chargers have some OL question marks. He should have lots of pass rush opportunities and has the speed to capitalize. His secondary also appears the most likely to make opponents' QBs hold the ball the longest of the early drafted edge guys.

I’ll say Pickett because he’s gonna be a starter and Pittsburgh will still win games with their defense

Defense is tougher, but Kyle Hamilton is a good guess. I think he’s a pro ready dude for a good defense already

I like the Olave choice. M. Thomas will be back and draw a lot of attention in the intermediate parts of the field between the hashes and that will give Olave a lot of one-on-one coverages to run deep routes.

I really think there is a chance that team mates could win both. Wilson and Sauce are strong candidates for me.

If I had to bet money on them though I would go.

Defense
Devin Lloyd Jags
His tape was no joke at Utah. He has A level instincts
Complete game changer at LB.

Offense
Tyquan Thorton Patriots
The Pats have lacked a deep threat for years
Thornton can flat out burn.
Pats WR room needs playmakers
Its not dumb to think he can't put up 800 to 1000
Yards this year. Mac Jones will only improve in year 2

Offense: it won't be a QB, that's for sure. It's almost a lock to be one of the higher picked WRs. I'm going to say Treylon Burks because of what the rest of that offense has going for it.

Defense: Almost a lock to be a DE or DT, and looking at which players won't be stuck trying to be a one-man show on their line, I'm going to say Jordan Davis in Philly, though maybe Karlaftis in KC.

In 2021 it was Wr Jamarr Chase of the Bengals, and DE Micah Parsons of the Cowboys. ...

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

I'm going to predict Quarterback Matt Corral of the Carolina Panthers and
Boye Mafe, Defensive End of the Seattle Seahawks, for the Offensive and Defensive rookies of the year in 2022.

This is fun stuff in the somewhat off season..

I think Detroit may end up with both . On Offense with Jameson Williams and on D, with Aidan Hutchinson.

I also feel there is a pick or two on the Browns team that may take that ROTY !

A lot of the results of rookie of the year depends on the TEAM of which the rookie lands on. I thought it was weird the PRO FOOTBAL WRITERS Rookie of the year award in 2018 on O went to Barkley the weird part is the combined O & D rookie of the year in 2018 was Baker Mayfield.

Defense wins championships. Watson play your butt off!

i think if we dont resign landry, David Bell has a legitimate shot to win ROY.

Wouldn't surprise me if Kylie Hamilton wins D rookie of the year.

On O... If Detroit gets decent QB play I think Williams is going to be a stud. I love Garrett Wilson too but have less faith in the jets and Zach.

Offense: Garrett Wilson WR Jets
Defense: Kayvon Thibodeaux DE Giants

Because both teams should improve and are in the biggest media market.
