Shock: Pelosi’s Daughter Admits Where True Threat to Democracy Lies
'I’m really excited to be here with the only group of Americans with a lower approval rating than I have... '
By Molly Bruns
May 2, 2022

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) House Speaker Nancy Pelosi‘s daughter, Christine, posted a controversial tweet on the White House Correspondents Association Dinner that is catching some flack from the Left, Twitchy reported.

A “NerdProm Week” of corporate media feting the politicos they cover with celebrities and booze rather than a simple @whca awards dinner celebrating the first amendment is a bigger threat to our Democracy than Elon Musk buying Twitter. #TweetYourUnpopularOpinion

“A ‘NerdProm Week’ of corporate media feting the politicos they cover with celebrities and booze rather than a simple @whca awards dinner celebrating the first amendment is a bigger threat to our Democracy than Elon Musk buying Twitter.”

The White House Correspondents dinner has long been criticized as unnecessary, which may be why Speaker Pelosi declined the invitation and went to Ukraine instead.

She did miss out on President Joe Biden making an honest statement about the state of his administration:

Comedian Trevor Noah played host for the dinner, joking about rising inflation rates to a cackling crowd.

“Since you’ve come into office, things are really looking up. Gas is up, rent is up, food is up! Everything!”

BREAKING: Source Inside the Federal Government Reveals Suspected and Known Terrorists Walk Freely in the United States Following Biden Administration's Pullout in Afghanistan

The records obtained by Project Veritas confirm numerous suspected terrorists are currently living throughout the country, many of whom have work visas despite being flagged by the Terrorist Watchlist for violent offenses like murder and using explosive devices and arms.

Project Veritas published redacted government records of suspected terrorists who fall under the “Tier 1” threat level which is labelled as “Armed and Dangerous.” Most of these individuals flagged by the Department of Homeland Security were admitted because of an initiative to shelter fleeing refugees called Operation Allies Welcome.

The whistleblower inside the Federal Government has identified numerous cases. The suspected terrorists verified by Project Veritas appear to only be a small sample size. These threats live throughout the country including the nation’s capital, Washington, D.C.

Project Veritas also published never-before-seen video of the current Director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, Ur Jaddou, touting their efforts to expedite the adjudication process of Afghanistan refugees. USCIS is a division within the Department of Homeland Security.

[WASHINGTON, D.C. – Apr. 26, 2022] A source within the Federal Government has come forward to reveal suspected and known terrorists are roaming freely in the United States following the Biden administration’s exit strategy in Afghanistan, and subsequent initiatives launched by the Department of Homeland Security [DHS] to shelter fleeing refugees, known as Operation Allies Welcome.

According to records obtained and published by Project Veritas, numerous violent refugees, previously flagged by DHS for a wide range of offenses the agency describes as terrorism, are living in the United States.

Project Veritas independently confirmed and verified the records of some of these individuals, but according to the Federal Government source, there are numerous such cases. Project Veritas published redacted government records of some of these suspected terrorists who are living throughout the United States, including Washington D.C.

After being taken off the Terrorist Watchlist, Ismael Jurat arrived in the U.S. on August 31, 2021, and was re-added less than a month later under the “Tier 1” threat level under a code called “Category 15” which is classified as “Armed and Dangerous” for having “used Explosives/Arms.” Since then, his work visa has been approved and records indicate he is currently living in California.

Anwarallhaq Wahidi is also classified as a “Category 15” threat by the Department of Homeland Security for having “used explosives/arms.” He was only added to the Terrorist Watchlist on October 17, 2021, after already being admitted into the U.S. under Operation Allies Welcome. 10 days later, his 2-year work visa was approved.

Despite being flagged by DHS, because he “has engaged or is likely to engage in an unspecified violent terrorist act,” Nazir Ahmad Rahimi entered the U.S. on August 24, 2021. Despite being apprehended by ICE while in the U.S., he is yet to be deported and his last known address is in our nation’s capital, Washington, D.C.

Project Veritas also published never-before-seen video of current Director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services [USCIS], Ur Jaddou, touting the Biden administration’s efforts to expedite the adjudication process of Afghanistan refugees. USCIS is a division within the Department of Homeland Security.

In the footage, Jaddou appears to be giving a speech to other government employees saying, “I am so proud. So, so proud, of what we were capable of doing and what we did in Operation Allies Welcome. Thousands of our Afghan allies paroled into the United States swiftly received employment authorization.” She goes on to add that the agency is “continuing to work with the State Department to improve the efficacy, integrity, security, and transparency of the U.S. refugee admissions program.”

To date, Operation Allies Welcome has brought over 84,000 Afghan refugees into the United States.

5 Radical Facts About Incoming White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre
JOEL B. POLLAK5 May 2022

Karine Jean-Pierre was named the new White House press secretary on Thursday, taking over from Jen Psaki, who is departing for MSNBC on May 13.

Jean-Pierre’s appointment was hailed as “historic,” since she will be the first black woman and “out” LGBTQ person to serve in the role. However, there are several facts about Jean-Pierre’s record of radical politics that might prove to be more important than her skin color or her sexual preference. Here are five facts:

1. Jean-Pierre worked for radical organization MoveOn.org. MoveOn.org, launched in the late 1990s to oppose the impeachment of President Bill Clinton, pushed, ironically, for the impeachment of President Donald Trump, abandoning its former principles. The group also infamously accused General David Petraeus, then commanding U.S. forces during the Iraq War, of betraying the country. Jean-Pierre worked for MoveOn.org from 2016 until the 2020 presidential campaign.

2. Jean–Pierre has a history of anti-Israel radicalism. In 2019, Jean-Pierre applauded Democratic presidential candidates for boycotting the annual American Israel Public Affairs Committee policy conference in Washington, DC, a prominent pro-Israel gathering. “You cannot call yourself a progressive while continuing to associate yourself with an organization like AIPAC that has often been the antithesis of what it means to be progressive,” Jean-Pierre wrote.

3. Jean-Pierre once said that no one who has been merely accused of sexual misconduct should seek public office. Jean-Pierre told Jake Tapper on CNN’s State of the Union in 2017 that even if there was no corroborating evidence, and nothing had been proven against the accused, the mere existence of the accusation should be disqualifying. Ironically, she went on to work for Biden, even after he had been credibly accused of sexual misconduct by former aide Tara Reade.

4. Jean-Pierre is married to CNN anchor and correspondent Suzanne Malveaux. Jean-Pierre is only the latest example in a pattern of high-level personal ties and romantic links between Democrats and the media, as documented by Breitbart News editor-in-chief Alex Marlow in his 2021 blockbuster Breaking the News: Exposing the Establishment Media’s Hidden Deals and Secret Corruption. CNN will continue to be, in effect, the Biden administration’s communications shop.

5. Jean-Pierre stoked racial divisions and fears when Donald Trump took office. She told Bill Maher on HBO’s Real Time, “I think the thing to understand is that, if you are not white, male, straight, you are — you fear a — Donald Trump’s presidency because there is no place for you in a Donald Trump’s presidency.” She later claimed that Trump wanted to put a “whites only” sign on the Statue of Liberty, and claimed Trump had been a lifelong racist, despite evidence to the contrary.

DOJ Establishes ‘Office Of Environmental Justice'
By John Rigolizzo
May 5, 2022 DailyWire.com

The Department of Justice is establishing a new “Office of Environmental Justice.”

Attorney General Merrick Garland made the announcement at a press conference with EPA Administrator Michael Regan Thursday. Garland said that the new office, which will also be known by the initialism OEJ, would “oversee and help guide the Justice Department’s wide-ranging environmental justice efforts.”

The office was created as part of the Department’s “comprehensive environmental justice enforcement strategy,” in compliance with the Biden administration’s January 2021 executive order directing the Attorney General to develop such a strategy in conjunction with the EPA. Garland said that OEJ would initially be led by Acting Director Cynthia Ferguson, an attorney from the Environmental Enforcement Section of the DOJ’s Environment and Natural Resources Division.

“Although violations of our environmental laws can happen anywhere, communities of color, indigenous communities, and low-income communities often bear the brunt of the harm caused by environmental crime, pollution, and climate change,” Garland said in remarks at the conference. “In partnership with EPA, our new OEJ will serve as the central hub for our efforts to advance our comprehensive environmental justice enforcement strategy. In our environmental efforts, we will prioritize the cases that will have the greatest impact on the communities most overburdened by environmental harm. And together with our Civil Rights Division, Office for Access to Justice, Office of Tribal Justice, and United States Attorneys’ Offices, OEJ will prioritize meaningful and constructive engagement with the communities most affected by environmental crime and injustice.”

Associate Attorney General Vanita Gupta outlined how the OEJ would be part of implementing the Justice Department’s environmental justice strategy. “The strategy directs department components to prioritize cases that reduce environmental harms on overburdened and underserved communities, including communities of color, Tribal populations and low-income rural and urban communities,” Gupta said. “To that end, department components, with the support from the new Office of Environmental Justice, will be tasked with developing protocols to assess the environmental justice impacts of their investigations. We also know that securing environmental justice demands the meaningful involvement of affected communities in the decisions that impact them. So, the strategy directs the new Office of Environmental Justice to work to build deeper connections with communities that are affected by violations of environmental laws.”

Gupta also said that the broader strategy also directs all 93 United States Attorneys to designate an “environmental justice coordinator” to identify “areas of concern” within their jurisdictions, and to establish procedures for the public to report them. Gupta added that the strategy would also require the Justice Department to establish “environmental justice education programs” and training for personnel.

The Justice Department’s new office represents the latest example of the Biden administration prioritizing climate change as part of its agenda. The Biden administration announced in January that it was going to spend $5.5 billion in funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to advance “environmental justice” by working to “better protect communities from climate change, and protect vital ecosystems and the people and businesses throughout the country that rely on them.”

The Biden administration’s budget proposal for fiscal year 2022 would also allocate $44.9 billion to “to tackle the climate crisis,” including $11 billion for international climate spending, particularly in developing countries.

BREAKING: Judge Rules Against Radical Dems Efforts To Keep Marjorie Tayor Greene Off Ballot In November
By Patty McMurray | May 6, 2022

A Georgia judge has destroyed the ridiculous dreams of Democrat activists who were hoping to use the legal system as a way to keep the outspoken, America First, US Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene off the ballot in the November election.

BREAKING: Judge finds Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene qualified for reelection; Georgia secretary of state to make final decision – AP

— Breaking911 (@Breaking911) May 6, 2022

Driven by fear of her love for America and her desire to promote President Trump’s America First agenda, leftists turned to the courts, where they attempted to prove Rep. Taylor Greene played an important role in the January 6th incident that is looking more and more like a set up by our intelligence agencies and Democrats than a spontaneous “insurrection.”

The Hill reports – Although the Georgia judge in Georgia found that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green can run for reelection, he said the ultimate decision lies in the hands of the Republican SOS Brad Raffensperger.

Trending: How To Watch 2000 Mules...Dinesh D’Souza Explains [VIDEO]

State Administrative Law Judge Charles Beaudrot announced his decision after a daylong hearing in April that included arguments from lawyers for the voters and for Greene, as well as extensive questioning of Greene herself.

State law says Beaudrot must submit his findings to Raffensperger, who has to decide whether Greene should be removed from the ballot.

The challenge to Greene’s eligibility was filed by voters who allege the GOP congresswoman played a significant role in the Jan. 6, 2021 riot that disrupted Congress’s certification of Joe Biden’s presidential election victory. That puts her in violation of a seldom-invoked part of the 14th Amendment having to do with insurrection and makes her ineligible to run for reelection, they argue.

During the April 22 hearing on the challenge, Ron Fein, a lawyer for the voters who filed the challenge, noted that in a TV interview the day before the attack at the U.S. Capitol, Greene said the next day would be “our 1776 moment.” Lawyers for the voters said some supporters of then-President Donald Trump used that reference to the American Revolution as a call to violence.

Using the Democrat’s logic, Adam Schiff, Nancy Pelosi, Jerry Nadler, and Chuck Schumer should all be disqualified from running again based on their lies about the Trump-Russian hoax.

Cruz: Biden Admin Has ‘Secret Assessment’ Of Iran’s Nuclear Program That They Are Hiding From Public
By Ryan Saavedra
May 6, 2022 DailyWire.com

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said during a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing this week that Democrat President Joe Biden’s administration has a secret assessment of Iran’s nuclear program that allegedly shows a point at which pursuing a deal with Iran would be meaningless.

“Last week in this committee, I discussed the IRGC terrorism sanctions with Secretary Blinken and he said that dismantling some sanctions would be worth it because the deal has benefits that will meaningfully rollback Iran’s nuclear program,” Cruz said to Deputy Secretary of State Brian McKeon. “I want to ask you about those benefits, because I don’t think that’s true and I don’t think you do either.”

“Since President Biden was elected, Iran has made enormous, unprecedented progress on its nuclear program, including enriching uranium to 60%, deploying advanced centrifuges, and acquiring significant knowledge,” Cruz continued. “Now, the Biden administration has a secret assessment that says there is a point after which the nuclear progress would make the deal meaningless. Secretary Blinken has referenced that point in public numerous times since last year, but you have never revealed to this committee what that point is publicly. Administration officials have told this committee in classified briefings what your assessment is, but again, it has been kept from the public.”

Cruz highlighted a recent quote from Committee Chairman Bob Menendez over the weekend, who noted that “we are told by the administration that if the negotiations didn’t conclude by the end of February, that in fact, the time that would be lost, and what we would gain would be a very little importance or value to us. Now, it’s the end of April. So if the end of February wasn’t going to buy us what we need, certainly the end of April is not there.”

When asked if the State Department would made the assessment public, McKeon claimed that he did not work on the issue and did not have an answer, although he guessed that nothing would be forthcoming “in the near term.”

”That is entirely consistent with everything I have heard and seen. So my question is, does the State Department intend to make your internal assessment public?” Cruz asked.

2000 Mules: Stream It Now
By J.D. Rucker • May. 8, 2022

Since the 2020 election, we have remained steadfast in two beliefs:

1. The presidential election was stolen
2. We must not “move on” as so many keep telling us to do

Chances are, you hold the first belief. If you don’t, watch 2000 Mules now. Even if you do, watch it. This movie has much of the information we need in order to build a groundswell of support for more investigations that could lead to indictments and arrests.

Therein lies the key to that second belief, that we should not “move on” and focus on the midterm elections and beyond. While they remain important, nobody has been punished for the 2020 election steal. That means they got away with it so far and will continue to do it going forward. Even if you believe there’s no way to correct the 2020 election and put the rightful president back in the Oval Office, you must acknowledge that there need to be repercussions if we’re ever to have a fair election again.

This was an attack on the Constitution and therefore it is our responsibility as American citizens to continue to push for the truth to come out. 2000 Mules is a wonderful avenue through which to rejuvenate the base, but we need more. We need to expose the culprits and bring them to justice. That can only happen if we ignore Establishment Republicans and their demands that we pretend the 2020 election wasn’t stolen.

Here’s what President Trump said:

“Highly respected Dinesh D’Souza, working together with Catherine Engelbrecht of True the Vote, just released a trailer to their new movie, “2,000 Mules,” that shows the world exactly how the 2020 Presidential Election was Rigged and Stolen. The movie exposes the lies of the Democrats, RINOs, and Fake News who say it was the “most secure election in history.” It was, perhaps, the least secure in history. The ballot box was stuffed, and stuffed like never before—and it’s all on video. Ballots were trafficked and sold in a massive operation in each Swing State. The evidence is so damning, what will the cowards who sat and did nothing about the stolen election say now? The way our votes were taken away is a disgrace to our Nation. It must be fixed.”

Watch 2000 Mules and get others to watch it as well. The truth is finally starting to come out, but we need to “red pill” as many as possible if we’re going to ever hold anyone accountable.

Dementia Joe Repeats Thoroughly Debunked Tail for SEVENTH Time as Mental Acuity Approaches Nil
By J.D. Rucker • May. 8, 2022

81 million Americans allegedly put a dementia-ridden liar, racist, and puppet-to-the-highest-bidder in the White House, and the results have been predictable. Not only has his regime driven the United States to the brink of falling from our spot as the world’s superpower, but Joe Biden himself reaffirms his status as a walking punchline for the world to laugh at on a daily basis.

His latest mental lapse came during a manufacturing event in Ohio with Senators Sherrod Brown and Rob Portman. There, he repeated a story that has been debunked so many times even the radical leftist fact-checkers can no longer ignore it on his behalf. According to The Daily Mail:

Biden, 79, was speaking at a manufacturing event in Ohio with Senators Sherrod Brown and Rob Portman
The president once again recalled the encounter with a man named Angelo Negri
In this re-telling, it happens early during his vice presidency, before Biden’s mother passed away in January 2010
President Biden often tells this story as an attempt to emphasize the need for infrastructure repairs and funding for America’s rail system
A key issue with the tale is that Negri retired as an Amtrak conductor in 1993, according to his 2014 obituary
That is long before Biden – the oldest man to ever be elected or serve as president – was elected vice president in 2008
Politicians lie. The elderly often get confused. Democrats will use anything and everything for their political gain. When you combine these three traits in a man like Joe Biden, it’s not shocking that he repeats this falsehood every chance he gets.

Bottom line….. Not one indictment, charge or conviction for mass election fraud that would overturn any election…

Everything else is speculation postulation and rabble rousing by the Orange marshmallow and his minions.

Instead of “Where’s the beef?”, we should ask “Where’s the charges?”

“Show me the money!” Becomes “Show me the charges!” If you like Jerry McGuire.

They don’t have anything, nada, nyet, non, nothing at all…

There will be no playoffs. Can’t play with who we have out there and compounding it with garbage playcalling and worse execution. We don’t have good skill players on offense period. Browns 20 - Bears 17.

Here's how ridiculous the libtard left has become.

I was watching this show on Netflix about women's sexuality and achieving "pleasure"

It was a discussion between women of different races and sexualities.

It was led by this black woman.

It was intended to help women who have issues with achieving pleasure who are young and not familiar with their bodies or sex toys or porn or relationships. (not me)

And out of nowhere the head lady starts blaming white supremacists for women's sexuality problems. WTF???

I was like, how sad and stupid is this. Dear Woke Black Lady: White people arent trying to steal your orgasms, and we dont care if youre bad in bed. Thats your own problem to figure out. Sorry to hear you need a whole tv series about it.

It was so stupid.

My partner ditched Netflix because of their politics. I might do the same if they are going to promote garbage like that.

She should have stuck with all of the things they actually did rob black people of. It's not as if she didn't have a long list to choose from.

Trump Judge Will Not Dismiss Lawsuit Against Biden's Mass Release of Migrants
By Jeremy Frankel | Sunday, 08 May 2022 10:05 PM

A Trump-appointed federal judge denied a request from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to dismiss a lawsuit against the Biden administration for its catch and release policy, which has allowed hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants into the country since January of last year.

Judge T. Kent Wetherell II refused to dismiss the suit, writing that laws "clearly and unambiguously state that aliens arriving at the border 'shall be detained,' not that they may be detained," and that "the cited provisions of §1225 expressly require aliens to be detained until removal proceedings have concluded, and that §1182(d)(5)(A) does not authorize Defendants to circumvent the mandatory detention requirement as it is allegedly doing through the challenged policies."

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody sued Biden's DHS in February, stating that the agency was surpassing its authority by mass releasing illegal aliens and border crossers into the interior of the U.S., which then put an undue burden on states.

The case is Florida v. United States, No. 3:21-cv-01066 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida.

The Biden administration released approximately 836,000 border crossers and illegal aliens into the U.S. interior from February 2021 to March 2022.

New DOJ Notes Reveal FBI Panic After Trump Tweeted He Knew He Was Being Spied On
By Jeff Carlson and Hans Mahncke May 9, 2022 Updated: May 9, 2022

Newly released notes taken by high-level Department of Justice (DOJ) officials during a March 6, 2017, meeting with FBI leadership expose some of the lengths the FBI engaged in to cover up its spying on the 2016 campaign of President Donald Trump.

The notes were released on May 8 by lawyers representing former Hillary Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann as part of an effort to clear him on charges of having lied to the FBI. The notes, in reality, appear to do little to exonerate Sussmann but do provide quite a bit of information on the FBI.

The meeting at which the notes were taken took place just two days after Trump’s March 4, 2017, tweet in which he accused former President Barack Obama of having wiretapped Trump Tower. Trump’s tweet panicked FBI leadership, who were unsure exactly how much Trump knew about their efforts to tie him up with Russia collusion allegations.

What the notes reveal is that in response to the tweet, they tried to cover their tracks.

By March 2017, FBI leadership already knew with near-certainty that the Trump–Russia collusion claims were a hoax. They knew that Clinton’s campaign had a plan to vilify Trump by portraying him as a puppet of Putin. The FBI also knew that not a single claim in the so-called Steele dossier—which was the primary source of allegations of Trump–Russia collusion—had checked out.

In fact, at that point, the FBI had already spent three days interviewing Steele’s primary source, Igor Danchenko, who disavowed pretty much every claim in Steele’s dossier. The FBI also knew that the Alfa Bank story, which claimed that a Trump server was communicating with a Russian bank—information that had been brought to them by Sussmann—was bogus.

In short, the FBI knew that all the claims of Trump-Russia collusion had proven to be fake.

But things took a sudden and dramatic turn on March 4, 2017, when Trump said on Twitter that he knew that Obama had wiretapped Trump Tower, a very public claim of spying that set off alarm bells with both FBI and DOJ leadership. Trump’s tweet so alarmed these DOJ and FBI officials that the topic dominated a meeting two days later that included FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe and the acting U.S. attorney general, Dana Boente.

The problem for the FBI was this: They didn’t know how much Trump actually knew about their actions. Just a day earlier, on March 3, 2017, radio host Mark Levin had reported that the Obama administration had obtained Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrants that involved Trump and several of his campaign advisers. Levin also reported that Trump’s off-the-cuff joke in July 2016—“Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing”—had become the basis for the Russia collusion accusations.

But as we now know, the FISA warrants weren’t the only thing that the FBI leadership was involved with. The FBI was actively spying on the Trump campaign and the incoming Trump administration’s transition communications, a fact that also was revealed in the new notes. The FBI had not only spied on Trump campaign adviser Carter Page, but also on another aide, George Papadopoulos, going so far as to lure him to London, where they tried to set him up in a clumsy but elaborate sting.

There were also the new fake accusations brought forward by Sussmann that Trump was tied to the use of a Russian Yota phone. And there was the matter of tech executive Rodney Joffe–a man with deep ties to the FBI–who had been using his access to non-public data to spy on Trump both at Trump Tower and at the White House.

In all likelihood, Trump probably only knew what Levin had reported the day before–that there was a FISA warrant on a campaign aide–but the FBI leadership didn’t know how much Trump knew and had to assume that he knew a lot more.

The discussion at the March 6 meeting was dominated by Trump’s tweet, with the FBI’s McCabe kicking things off by stating that the bureau was trying to determine what was behind Trump’s tweets.

Notes at the meeting were taken by three DOJ officials—Tashina Gauhar, Mary McCord, and Scott Schools. The notes were released because one of the notes appears to show that McCabe stated that Sussmann had represented clients when he took the Alfa Bank allegations to the FBI. Sussmann initially told the FBI that he didn’t represent anyone and was merely acting as a good samaritan. It’s that lie to the FBI by Sussmann that he has been charged with and Sussmann’s lawyers are hoping to sow doubt by introducing that single sentence that appears to say otherwise.

This claim by Sussmann’s lawyers, however, is, in essence, a side-show as the notes are double-hearsay evidence written six months after Sussmann told the FBI the exact opposite.

The real bombshells are in the many pages of notes that Sussmann doesn’t cite; those notes reveal the true extent of the FBI’s panic over Trump’s tweet. The first reaction from FBI leadership appears to have been to tell the acting attorney general, Boente, a sequence of lies about their investigation.

The notes reveal that the FBI repeatedly referred to Steele’s dossier as “Crown reporting,” suggesting the dossier represented some sort of official UK government intelligence, when it was mostly information made up by Steele and Danchenko–a fact the FBI already knew at the time.

The new notes also revealed that FBI agent Peter Strzok lied to his DOJ superiors about what triggered Alexander Downer, the Australian ambassador in London, to come forward to the FBI with information regarding his meeting with Papadopolous. It has always been the FBI’s official story that it was Downer who initiated the official Trump–Russia investigation, but that story is now undermined in the new notes, in which Strzok claims that it was Trump’s joke about Russia finding Clinton’s emails that had triggered Downer.

In truth, Downer had come forward before Trump had even made the joke.

The FBI also lied to the DOJ about the Carter Page FISA warrant, which they claimed was “fruitful,” when it actually had revealed nothing nefarious–something that the FBI was aware of by this time.

The FBI appears to have also tried to misrepresent and elevate the Alfa Bank allegations by claiming that the Trump Organization had sent a solicitation to Alfa Bank. Again, this was completely false. The FBI knew within days of Sussmann giving them the Alfa Bank data that it was useless and probably fake.

By Sept. 23, 2016, the FBI’s IT team had disproven the Alfa Bank allegations. But rather than admit that, the FBI actually tried to breathe new life into the Alfa allegations through its misrepresentations.

All of these exculpatory facts were not just hidden from interim DOJ officials at the March 6, 2017, meeting, FBI leadership twisted those facts to make them appear like there was a strong case against Trump when they knew there was no case at all.

But the March 6 meeting was only the beginning. Knowing that Trump might now be on to them, FBI leadership immediately increased their efforts to cover their own tracks by intensifying the focus on Trump.

On March 5, 2017, the day following Trump’s tweet, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper went on CNN and claimed that there was no “wiretap activity mounted against the President-elect at the time, or as a candidate, or against his campaign.”

While Clapper took a defensive stance, the FBI soon went on offense and the bureau’s efforts began almost immediately.

On March 15, 2017, FBI Director James Comey suddenly decided to brief the leaders of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Sens. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), about the Carter Page FISA application, which FBI leadership believed Trump had found out about. Comey would provide them with copies of the actual FISA warrant two days later. At this same time, Comey also began his briefing of the congressional Gang of Eight—the eight individuals within the U.S. Congress who are briefed on classified intelligence matters by the executive branch—regarding the Page FISA.

On March 20, 2017, Clapper suddenly changed his narrative, shifting from denying the existence of any spying to denying any abuse of the FISA process.

Also on March 20, Comey publicly testified to Congress, revealing for the first time the existence of the FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane investigation into Trump and his campaign.

During his testimony, Comey inadvertently acknowledged that he had also intentionally withheld the required congressional Gang of Eight notification of the FBI’s counterintelligence investigation. Under questioning, Comey stated that he did so because of “the sensitivity of the matter.”

The combined efforts of Obama intelligence officials and the FBI would soon culminate in the appointment of special counsel Robert Mueller, which essentially tied up Trump for the next three years. And in doing so, they ensured that little or no progress was made in bringing the actual perpetrators of the Russia hoax to justice.

I’ll take a ‘broken brained’ President Biden over the brainless don. He’s still smarter and more stable with a broken brain than donny and it isn’t even close.

Gas Prices Reach New Record High
By BRITTANY BERNSTEIN
May 10, 2022 8:12 AM

The national average price for regular gasoline reached a new record-high on Tuesday, according to AAA.

The new high — $4.37 a gallon — breaks the previous record of $4.33 set on March 11.

Gas prices jumped 5 cents overnight and a whopping 17 cents in the past week, CNN reported.

California, Nevada and Hawaii have all reached an average of more than $5 per gallon. Diesel fuel also set an all-time record on Tuesday of $5.50 a gallon.

“With the cost of oil accounting for more than half of the pump price, more expensive oil means more expensive gasoline,” AAA spokesperson Andrew Gross said. “These prices are creeping closer to those record-high levels of early March.”

The new highs come after the national average began to fall in April after the release of oil from emergency reserves.

Gas prices are up roughly 25 percent since Russia first invaded Ukraine, CNN reported. The Biden administration has repeatedly cited Russian president Vladimir Putin as the cause of Americans’ pain at the pump.

Meanwhile, Andy Lipow, president of Lipow Oil Associates, told CNN he believes retail gas prices will reach $4.50 a gallon in the next week to ten days.

Rising oil costs mean the average American household may pay almost $2,000 more for gasoline in 2022, Yardeni Research said in March.

“In addition, we estimate that the average household is currently spending at least $1,000 [according to a seasonally adjusted annual rate] more on food as a result of rapidly rising grocery prices,” wrote Edward Yardeni, the president of the firm, according to Fox Business. “That’s $3,000 less money that households have to spend on other consumer goods and services, which also are experiencing rapid price increases.”

Joe Biden Tries to Blame Inflation on Republicans, His Senility Bites Him in the Backside
By Bonchie | May 10, 2022 2:00 PM ET

The latest inflation report isn’t quite out yet, but it’s fair to assume it’s not going to be pretty. Inflation hit 8.5 percent in March, and April is promising to top 9 percent as prices continue to skyrocket across the country. The cost of a gallon of gas hit a new record high, and anyone who’s been to a grocery store in the last six months can attest to how dire the situation is.

Yet, what I think makes matters all the worse is that there’s no hope on the horizon. We do not have a president who is capable of pulling the economy out of this mess, and that’s mostly because Joe Biden is responsible for putting the economy in this mess. Any “solutions” he’s proposed have only promised to accelerate the pain.

That sad reality was on full display as Biden spoke on inflation on Tuesday morning. Ironically, while the president tried to dodge responsibility for his myriad failures, his senility jumped up and bit him in the backside, causing him to admit the obvious.

At first, I just laughed at this. Then I remembered that this person is the President of the United States and that inflation isn’t actually a laughing matter. The high cost of living is crushing the middle class, and it’s disheartening to know that the person most able to affect the path of the US economy is so far gone that he can’t even manage to lie properly. Here he’s trying to brag about the supposed strength of his economy and manages to admit that all he’s managed to build is inflation. So I guess the proper response here is to laugh and then cry.

In the other clip, we see Biden realize that he stepped on his own talking point by saying that his party has total power before fumbling about, asserting otherwise. But Democrats do own all three branches of government, and by virtue, they own whatever happens in the nation. That’s what being in power means. Parties don’t get to be in power and then pretend they aren’t in control.

Past the mental breakdowns, when the president did manage to read his teleprompter properly, he delivered ridiculous lines like this.

It is a total lie that Republicans want to “raise taxes” and lower the income of Americans. In fact, it’s such a lie that even Glenn Kessler, the notoriously biased fact-checker at The Washington Post, has said that it’s a lie.

For context, Sen. Rick Scott of Florida did propose, on his own via a statement (not a filed bill), some kind of minimum tax so everyone has skin in the game. That proposal has zero support. The leadership is not behind it, it’s not going to come up for a vote, and I haven’t seen a single other Republican say they want to enact it. In short, there is no truth to the idea that the GOP wants to raise taxes.

Lastly, I’ll end with a clip of Biden just being his general creepy self.

I’m not sure I want Biden tasting anything around me, but I digress.

We are long past the point of Biden’s statements being pathetic. When a president is failing this badly, it is a terrible look to take to the podium and continually make excuses. Americans want leadership right now. They want a plan. They don’t want lies about Republicans wanting to raise taxes. Biden will not give them those things, though, because that would mean admitting he’s wrong and changing course. He’s too controlled by his far-left handlers for that to happen.

Fact Checking the Fact Checkers: Debunking AP's '2000 Mules' Hit Piece
By Jennifer Van Laar | May 10, 2022 6:00 PM ET

Many of us were alarmed on Election Night 2020 when, while the results were looking good for Donald Trump, multiple states suddenly stopped counting votes. As the night wore on and went into the next day, it seemed that every update was favorable for Biden until he was ultimately named President-Elect.

While Trump’s campaign repeatedly promised to “release the Kraken” and bring forward evidence of election fraud that would prove that the election was stolen, focusing on electronic voting machines, that evidence didn’t materialize. RedState’s Scott Hounsell pointed out various states and cities – even down to the precincts – that should be investigated, and that information was given to the Trump campaign to no avail.

(READ Scott’s pieces on Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Arizona)

The basis of Hounsell’s “Excuse Me While I Call BS” series was that the supposed results of the 2020 general election were completely incongruent with what had been documented in voter registration data over the preceding four years and with what would be expected given Trump’s performance over Clinton in 2016. For example:

In Pennsylvania, Trump has won every county he won in 2016 except for one, while he picked up another county that Clinton won in 2016. Enthusiasm levels for Biden were lower than they were for Clinton in PA. Since 2016, in the state where Trump won by 45,000 votes, Democrats have lost 48,000 voters while Republicans have added 150,000 voters, outperformed amongst minorities and had record party support and Democrat cross-over vote and yet, Trump only leads by 110,000 voters? BS.

While Hounsell wasn’t able at that time to determine what had happened, it seems that Catherine Engelbrecht and Gregg Phillips of True the Vote have some evidence, in the form of cell phone location data, ballot drop box surveillance video, and more, to suggest that there was a coordinated effort in key states (those in which a small number of votes could swing the state and, therefore, the Electoral College) to illegally “harvest” ballots by paying “mules” to deposit them into drop boxes throughout the given metropolitan area in the month before the election, in numbers that were small enough to fly under the radar on daily counts yet large enough to change the state’s outcome on Election Night. Filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza took this data and interviewed witnesses to create the documentary “2000 Mules,” in collaboration with Salem Media Group, to explain what True the Vote found.

Not surprisingly, by the afternoon of May 4, before “2000 Mules” premiered at Mar-a-Lago that evening, the so-called fact-checkers were out in force attempting to debunk its claims. PolitiFact and Associated Press are the most prominent, and many local rags have run AP’s, magnifying its reach. Of course, the PolitiFact and AP pieces are nearly identical, almost as if they were coordinated. The “facts” or data they use to attempt to discredit D’Souza, True the Vote, and the film are laughably thin — and some are simply not true.

The Associated Press claims that “2000 Mules” did not prove that “at least 2,000 ‘mules’ were paid to illegally collect ballots and deliver them to drop boxes in key swing states ahead of the 2020 presidential election” mainly because the findings are “based on false assumptions about the precision of cellphone tracking data and the reasons that someone might drop off multiple ballots, according to experts,” but the piece lists a few other areas in which they believe the film perpetuated falsehoods.

Let’s go through the various claims AP believes “2000 Mules” got wrong.

Geotracking/Cellphone Location Data
According to Gregg Phillips, True the Vote analyzed more than a petabyte (1,000 terabytes) of data from smartphones in Phoenix, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Detroit, Milwaukee, and Las Vegas, covering the time period from October 1 through Election Day (and through January 6 in Georgia to cover the Senate runoff). In Atlanta, the group says that by using that data they identified 242 “mules” who met their criteria (visited 10 different ballot drop boxes and at least five different nonprofit organizations identified as “stash houses”) during that time frame. Here’s what the AP had to say about that claim:
[E]xperts say cellphone location data, even at its most advanced, can only reliably track a smartphone within a few meters — not close enough to know whether someone actually dropped off a ballot or just walked or drove nearby.

“You could use cellular evidence to say this person was in that area, but to say they were at the ballot box, you’re stretching it a lot,” said Aaron Striegel, a professor of computer science and engineering at the University of Notre Dame. “There’s always a pretty healthy amount of uncertainty that comes with this.”

That’s simply not true. In the first sentence of the quote, the writer says that experts say that a smartphone can be reliably tracked within a few meters. Depending on what “a few” means in this case, that could be six or nine feet. That’s hardly leaving a healthy amount of uncertainty. Also, we’re not just talking about one visit to a ballot box.

Pieces in the Washington Post and the New York Times also characterize cellphone location data as quite specific and reliable. For example, in May 4 WaPo article stoking fear that the Patriarchy could use phone data to determine who got an abortion should abortion become illegal in some states:

Phones can collect precise information about your whereabouts — right down to the building — to power maps and other services. Sometimes, though, the fine print in app privacy policies gives companies the right to sell that information to other companies that can make it available to advertisers, or whoever wants to pay to obtain it.

On Tuesday, Vice’s Motherboard blog reported that for $160, it bought a week’s worth of data from a company called SafeGraph showing where people who visited more than 600 Planned Parenthood clinics came from and where they went afterward.

A 2019 New York Times series, “The Privacy Project,” revealed a lot about how granular this data can be. In a piece from that project titled “Twelve Million Phones, One Dataset, Zero Privacy,” Times journalists reported on what they found after analyzing a data file containing 50 billion location pings from 12 million Americans over a several-month period in 2016 and 2017. In the introduction they state (emphasis mine):

Each piece of information in this file represents the precise location of a single smartphone over [the] period.

And, says the Times, this information isn’t generated solely by big tech or government surveillance, and is openly available to anyone who wants to pay for it.

The data reviewed by Times Opinion didn’t come from a telecom or giant tech company, nor did it come from a governmental surveillance operation. It originated from a location data company, one of dozens quietly collecting precise movements using software slipped onto mobile phone apps. You’ve probably never heard of most of the companies — and yet to anyone who has access to this data, your life is an open book. They can see the places you go every moment of the day, whom you meet with or spend the night with, where you pray, whether you visit a methadone clinic, a psychiatrist’s office or a massage parlor.

In addition, the AP writer says there are many reasons that people might have been close to a ballot drop box on multiple occasions, since they’re placed in high traffic areas like libraries, government buildings, college campuses, that people frequent. That’s definitely true. But are they going to those places regularly late at night or even in the middle of the night? Are they also going to five different nonprofit organizations focused on get-out-the-vote efforts?

In 2021 the Times published a piece titled, “They Stormed the Capitol. Their Apps Tracked Them.” about the January 6 protesters. In that piece they noted that since their 2019 article a new piece of information had become available:

Unlike the data we reviewed in 2019, this new data included a remarkable piece of information: a unique ID for each user that is tied to a smartphone. This made it even easier to find people, since the supposedly anonymous ID could be matched with other databases containing the same ID, allowing us to add real names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses and other information about smartphone owners in seconds.

The IDs, called mobile advertising identifiers, allow companies to track people across the internet and on apps. They are supposed to be anonymous, and smartphone owners can reset them or disable them entirely. Our findings show the promise of anonymity is a farce. Several companies offer tools to allow anyone with data to match the IDs with other databases.

The data purchased by True the Vote most likely contained the mobile advertising identifier information, which would allow True the Vote to discern the real names, addresses, etc. attached to each potential “mule” device’s owner in seconds, which comes into play with the AP’s next supposed reason that the True the Vote analysis could not possibly be correct:

True the Vote has said it filtered out people whose “pattern of life” before the election season included frequenting nonprofit and drop box locations. But that strategy wouldn’t filter out election workers who spend more time at drop boxes during the election season, cab drivers whose daily paths don’t follow a pattern, or people whose routines recently changed.

It wouldn’t filter them out if the group didn’t also have other information, such as mobile advertising identifiers. But True the Vote has even more than that. For example, the group has chain of custody logs for the ballot drop boxes in question, so they know when election workers visited the drop boxes to collect ballots and can eliminate cell phones at that location at that time from being included in the “mule” category.

Use of Gloves in Georgia Senate Runoff
Investigators found that in the 2020 Georgia Senate runoff, particularly after December 23, 2020, many of the mules seen on surveillance video were wearing blue latex medical gloves when approaching the ballot drop boxes. Gregg Phillips attributes that development to the arrest a day prior of an Arizona woman for ballot fraud, and claims that the FBI used fingerprint data to help catch that perpetrator.

According to the AP, though, the “mules” were just wearing gloves because it was cold out. Because obviously we all wear blue latex medical gloves to keep our hands warm in the winter, then throw them away before getting back to a car or home.

This is pure speculation. It ignores far more likely reasons for glove-wearing in the fall and winter of 2020 — cold weather or COVID-19.

Voting in Georgia’s Jan. 5, 2021, Senate runoff election occurred during some of the coldest weeks of the year in the state, and when COVID-19 was surging. In fact, the AP in 2020 documented multiple examples of COVID-cautious voters wearing latex gloves and other personal protective equipment to vote.

Mail ballot voting for the Georgia Senate runoff began soon after November 18, 2020, when mail ballots went out. The nighttime temperature on December 23, 2020 and through January 5, 2021 weren’t any colder than the weeks prior, and, in fact, between December 29 and January 3, 2021 the low temperature in North Atlanta was warmer than the historical daily average low.

In the movie, this woman is — whose smartphone seems to “live” in South Carolina according to True the Vote, is shown wearing blue latex medical gloves as she deposits multiple ballots in a drop box in Fulton County, Georgia, in December 2020 . . .

[Linked Image from redstate.com]

. . . then removes them immediately after the ballots are securely in the ballot box and puts them in the adjacent trash can.

[Linked Image from redstate.com]

It must not be very cold out.

Of course, AP has no comment as to why one would be out in the middle of the night placing numerous ballots in the drop box. I’m sure they will claim that it’s simply a hard-working person who just got off their night shift job and are dutifully taking all of their elderly relatives’ ballots to the drop box. But, of course, that hard-working person also would have visited at least 10 other ballot drop boxes and made five visits to the identified nonprofit organizations alleged to have served as stash houses.

Sounds totally legit.

Photographing Ballots/Ballot Boxes
According to the AP fact check:

In a similarly speculative allegation, the film claims its supposed “mules” took photographs of ballots before they dropped them into drop boxes in order to get paid. But across the U.S., voters frequently take photos of their ballot envelopes before submitting them.

Of the envelopes, possibly. Perhaps one of their individual envelope going into the drop box. Where is the documentation of AP’s claim that U.S. voters “frequently take photos of their ballot envelopes before submitting them”? There is no link back to any story or study documenting that supposed fact. But who takes photos of a stack of ballots? What does that prove for an individual voter? And what good does a picture of the box from a few feet away do if one is trying to prove they deposited their ballot in the box?

[Linked Image from redstate.com]

Multiple Devices in One Car?
To rebut the movie’s claim that “In Philadelphia alone, True the Vote identified 1,155 “mules” who illegally collected and dropped off ballots for money,” AP noted that True the Vote wasn’t able to obtain surveillance video in Philadelphia and then added a 200-word speculative story from a Pennsylvania lawmaker:

Pennsylvania state Sen. Sharif Street…told the AP he was confident he was counted as several of the group’s 1,155 anonymous “mules,” even though he didn’t deposit anything into a drop box in that time period.

Street said he based his assessment on the fact that he carries a cellphone, a watch with a cellular connection, a tablet with a cellular connection and a mobile hotspot — four devices whose locations can be tracked by private companies. He also said he typically travels with a staffer who carries two devices, bringing the total on his person to six. During the 2020 election season, Street said, he brought those devices on trips to nonprofit offices and drop box rallies. He also drove by one drop box up to seven or eight times a day when traveling between his two political offices.

While his trips to nonprofit offices could meet True the Vote’s criteria for inclusion in the “mule” pool, since we don’t yet know exactly which nonprofit offices in Philadelphia True the Vote was focusing on, we can’t be sure he visited five or more of the targeted nonprofit organizations. And if he did, why? We’re not talking about the Boys & Girls Club here.

In addition, it’s likely that investigators would notice if six devices were traveling together to these various locations then investigate further, and they’d see that the devices were also stopping at legislative buildings and campaign offices. Using the other data, such as mobile advertising identifiers, they’d be able to determine that they belonged to a legislator and not a mule.

The writer should seriously be ashamed that this story — which might or might not have actually occurred — is used in a fact check.

Dropping Off Ballots for Family Members
Knowing how startling and impactful surveillance video of numerous people stuffing a handful (or more) of ballots into the drop boxes would be, it’s important for the legacy media to try to explain that.

The AP fact check simply declares that “2000 Mules” didn’t properly account for instances in which someone was dropping ballots off at the drop box for family members, and falsely claims that there was no way match up those voters with the cellphone location data True the Vote possessed. The only “proof” AP puts forth to prove their assertion is one anecdote and one instance in Georgia in which surveillance video of one person depositing six ballots into a drop box was investigated and it was determined that the man was depositing ballots for himself and his family:

In some states, in an attempt to bolster its claims, True the Vote also highlighted drop box surveillance footage that showed voters depositing multiple ballots into the boxes. However, there was no way to tell whether those voters were the same people as the ones whose cellphones were anonymously tracked.

For example, Larry Campbell, a voter in Michigan who was not featured in the film, told The Associated Press he legally dropped off six ballots in a local drop box in 2020 — one for himself, his wife, and his four adult children.

Saying that “there was no way to tell whether those voters were the same people as the ones whose cellphones were anonymously tracked” is just laughably incorrect. First, the videos are timestamped, and True the Vote has all of the cellphone data for that location at that time, so they are able to determine the device ID’s for each device at that location at that time. They can also tell where that device was before and after the visit to the ballot drop box. And, using the mobile advertising identifier, they could identify the owner of the phone – and how many family members they have.

We know that True the Vote investigators did look into who the owners of particular devices were, since Phillips mentioned in the movie that the woman in the screenshot above was normally in South Carolina but was a “mule” in Georgia during both the general election and the Senate Runoff.

Some “Mules” Were Also at Antifa Rallies
Here we have another instance in which AP uses speculation as a supposed “gotcha,” but this time they’ve also found a way to insert their political slant into said “gotcha.” To attempt to rebut the claim in the movie that some of the “mules” identified in Georgia were “violent far left actors,” in AP’s words, because their devices “were also geolocated at violent antifa riots in Atlanta in the summer of 2020,” they write:

The anonymized data True the Vote tracked doesn’t explain why someone might have been present at a protest demanding justice for Black deaths at the hands of police officers. The individuals who were tracked there could have been violent rioters, but they also could have been peaceful protesters, police or firefighters responding to the protests, or business owners in the area.

Of course, when AP describes the riots, they’re actually “protests demanding justice for Black deaths at the hands of police officers.” Spare us. And sure, it’s plausible that devices of first responders could be mixed in with the rioters, but business owners? Perhaps, but in my recollection of video footage from the riots, by the time they were getting violent most business owners weren’t anywhere near there. Those who stayed to fight and protect their buildings were the exception, not the rule.

Also, they’re again relying on the “anonymized data” trope to make it seem there is no way True the Vote could have determined who owned the device, or that they didn’t. As described above, they could easily have determined the name and identity of each and every mule. For all we know at this moment, they could have.

It’s clear that the “fact checks” claiming to debunk the content of “2000 Mules” don’t pass muster, and they certainly don’t contain factual information that could be considered in a courtroom — unlike the information presented in the movie.

Not following any point here at all.

Trump botched and lied his way through Covid. As a result more people died than if we'd of had better leadership who had left things to the experts.

If you think Biden has somehow messed up and mishandled Covid since he took office - and if you think people have died because of lies and misinformation he has spewed .... then please explain.

Otherwise that tweet by Def L is really just dumb.

I have no idea why some people find the English language so complicated.....

Responsible.... being the primary cause of something and so able to be blamed or credited for it.

Wholesale inflation climbs 11% in April, remaining near 40-year high
Economists expected the producer price index to show prices climbed by 10.7% in April
By Megan Henney FOX Business

Americans facing record inflation rates, gas prices
'Kennedy' party panel reacts to President Biden's 'economic blunders' as inflation hit 8.3% in April.

Wholesale prices accelerated more than expected in April as inflation continued to hover near a 40-year high as a result of strong consumer demand, pandemic-related supply chain snarls and the Russian war in Ukraine.

The Labor Department said Thursday that its producer price index, which measures inflation at the wholesale level before it reaches consumers, climbed 11% in April from the previous year. On a monthly basis, prices grew by 0.5%. Although that marks a slight moderation from March's reading of 11.2%, the gauge still came in higher than the 10.7% forecast from Refinitiv economists, suggesting inflationary pressures remain strong.

HIGH INFLATION COULD BE 'PAINSTAKINGLY SLOW' TO COME DOWN

Core inflation at the wholesale level, which excludes the more volatile measurements of food and energy, increased 0.6% for the month, following a 0.9% increase in March. Over the past 12 months, core prices were up 6.9%.

Overall, prices for goods jumped 1.3% last month, the fourth consecutive rise and the biggest contributor to the headline inflation figure. That included gains for items like motor vehicles, diesel fuel and eggs. Prices for construction also soared by 4% in April, while prices for services held steady last month.

Energy moderated in April, rising by 1.7% after surging 6.4% the previous month following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The surge in wholesale prices comes on the heels of a separate Labor Department report released on Wednesday that showed the consumer price index climbed 8.3% in April from the previous year, far more than economists expected. Consumers are paying more for everyday necessities, including groceries, gasoline and cars.

Sky-high inflation has created a political headache for President Biden – who has blamed rising prices on the war in Ukraine, as well as pandemic-related disruptions in the supply chain – and has forced the Federal Reserve to chart an even more aggressive course to cool demand and bring inflation down.

The Fed now faces the tricky task of cooling demand and prices without inadvertently dragging the economy into a recession. Policymakers raised the benchmark interest rate by 50 basis points last week for the first time in two decades and have signaled that more, similarly sized rate hikes are on the table at coming meetings as they rush to catch up with inflation.

The back-to-back inflation reports "will not dissuade the Fed from making another half percentage point rate hike when they next meet in mid-June," said Bill Adams, chief economist for Comerica Bank. He noted that inflation will almost certainly finish the year well above the Fed's preferred target range of 2%.

"The Fed will want to see clearer evidence that inflation is cooling and higher interest rates are slowing demand before they start thinking about the endpoint of the current rate hike cycle," he said.
