Captain Phil's right.
You can twist and bend and stretch and compress anything you like...except people. If people are too big to fit your space then either make them smaller or be willing to crop them. Close up like. Distorting people is a last, (and I really mean never not last) resort. Distorting people makes them look very unflattering and less than fully human.
I remember, not so long ago, your first attempts at making these compiled graphics and quite frankly they were severly lacking in many ways. But now, (and it's really only been over a very short time), your graphics are looking very professional.
I feel the last hurdle you must overcome is the temptation to distort people to make them fit your space. Once you've gotten away from that all your images will be of a very appealing sort and, again quite frankly, I'm amazed at how fast you've caught on to the software and your feel for cool backgrounds and layouts.
Keep up the good work. Just quit squishing people.
