Taken from the Titans Titans signed RB Chris Barclay off the Browns' practice squad. Barclay will take over as the No. 3 running back while Chris Henry serves his four game substance abuse suspension. He could also see work returning punts. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_mai...px?sport=NFL&id=4429-------------------- Not a huge loss, considering we have Cribbs..and there was no room for him at RB..

I always like Barclay. Sucks to see him go, although there was no use for him at this oint in time. Good luck to him, just not if he faces us.

Sad to see him go, but I wish him well.
I think this is actually a sign of progress. When was the last time someone was signed off our practice squad? Normally the players we have there are of no use to anyone but us.

I liked Barclay as well, he was exciting in preseason.
My first thought was that this is a good thing. Not losing Barclay, but rather that we have talent, not just on our active roster, but our practice squad that other teams (or at least one ) poached from us.
Statistics are like a bikini; what they show is interesting, but what they hide is vital. Drive for show (1st round), Putt for dough (rest of draft).

Just not well enough for them to be ahead of us for the wild card...

Thats great for him. I'm sure the money is a godsend for him and now he gets a chance to actually maybe play some football in the NFL.

it is sad to see him go. but its so good to see him get his chance. he's done everything we've ever asked of him, and done it well. Good for him.

My thoughts as well. At least we now have players(1 anyway) on that list who attract attention.

Well, i hope they made the right choice between Harrison and Barclay- always thought they were similiar and seemed that Barclay may have had more value with the special teams stuff.

I keep wondering what they (the coaches) are seeing that we as fans don't see when it comes to Harrison.. I mean, they hardly ever let him in a game and I don't really understand it.
I know we've only seen a glimpse of him this season, and that it not enough to really make much of an impact, but damn,, the kid looked good.. I'd at least like to see if that was real or a mirage!

I know Daman, he just stands out. I don't get it. I remember watching one of the preseason game replays and Ditka was announcing the game. Harrison was in and looking good. Ditka made the comment that Harrison has superstar written all over him and should be the featured back. He then asked how is this guy third on the depth chart! The comment was surprising, but Jerome just looks a step quicker than everyone on the field, shows vision, and looks to be a game breaker. I have no idea what goes on in Berea that has this kid inactive almost every game. It makes no sense. Does he fumble alot in practice? Is it really the blocking issue? It sure is a mystery to me.

Originally, we were mostly under the impression that his blocking was suspect and he did fumble a couple of times,, so maybe that's it.. don't know.
But geez,, when he came into the game that Lewis was out of, he did great.. like I said, maybe it's a mirage.. I'd sure like to understand however.

This sucks because we are losing some potential to the numbers game. One has to wonder why we can keep a guy like Ted Washington on the active roster for close half a season but cant find a spot for barclay

I'm not so happy about this, I believed he was better than both Harrison and Wright...but clearly I'm not the one calling the shots

I can't say that I was upset that Harrison or Barclay weren't on the active roster from the beginning.. As for Barclay, I was impressed with him this off season.. who knows, we may end up getting him back.. it's a strange league that way.
But as far as Harrison, I wasn't upset he wasn't on the active roster until I saw him perform the one time he was on it.. and I was impressed.. That's why I'd have liked to see more of him...

WE have threebacks on the roster now, and only two have been active the majority of the games. It just doesn't make sense to overload one position if there isn't a need.
Keeping Ted was a mistake as far as he doesn't have ability anymore, same thing for keeping Baxter on as long as we did. Sometimes I guess it is better to give vets the benefit of the doubt, escpecially when they can help contribute in other ways.

I saw the update on Barclay in the morning paper today, and just smiled, man that kid was awesome. Hopefully he has a long career ahead of him.

Don't worry. I'm not that far from the college scene and I've never heard this saying either. It had me perplexed. I was sure it was a typo
