When you lose is more important than who you lost to ... LSU came back to be #1 after losing earlier in the season. It gave them time to "redeem" themselves. It's one of the problems with the BCS system, IMO.

This is not a BCS problem,...this is a poll problem -- and it's always been that way.
Only a playoff solves it.

I dont know why WV is ranked so high anyway they lost to South Florida for gods sake and they finished terribly,we lost to a respectable Illinois.
At the time South Flordia was ranked in the top 5 I think.
and in terms of Tenn and Georgia.... Tenn is a good team, but even though they beat Georgia, the bulldogs are playing better ball right now. I'm a big Tenn fan, but I was hoping that it'd be Georgia/LSU in the title game. LSU should win easily next week! The SEC will get both LSU and Georgia in a BCS bowl...

Polls are a major part of the BCS rankings ...
A playoff is clearly beyond the intellects that run NCAA football. Forget the fact that high schools and small colleges all over the country find it 'do-able" ...

I understand that however they finished 4-3 in their own conference hardly a good team. While Illinois ended up being a ranked team.

I'm definitely pulling for them against Washington. They won't get a title shot but I would love to see Hawaii embarrass a BCS conference champion.
I don't see how beating the Huskies makes any kind of case for Hawaii belonging with the elites ... Washington is 4-8, 10th place in the PAC, and without their freshman phenom QB, Jake Locker.
What else could they possibly do? They can't schedule on the fly. If they win all their games, they deserve to be in. No one else in the nation could get it done every week.
If someone doesn't want Hawaii in the BCS, then go PLAY them in the regular season. It's simple really.

Well I think that's more of your opinion.
I don't see how Illinois is viewed as a "better" loss. They did lose to Iowa.
WVU lost on the road by 8, OSU lost at home by 8. Both teams they lost to are in the top 25 right now (illinois is #15, South Florida is #25).
South Florida lost 3 games by a combined 15 points. Illinois lost 3 games by a combined 20 points.
South Florida's SOS is 17 and their power rating is 19 Illinois SOS is 10 and their power rating is 14.
The teams are pretty close. Given that WVU lost on the road, I would guess South Florida is viewed as a better loss. It's essentially a coin-flip that was decided by where the games were played.
Real time RPI lists WVU's schedule as the 5th best in the nation, OSU's is at 12.

You provide, again, good info,.... I definitely think WVa is a "better" overall team; still think, possibly Oklahoma could make the Big Jump if they win BIG vs. Mizz,.... Nothing is in concrete. Go PANTHERS,....(don't hold your breath).
