Spero is our new Ian Eagle circa 1999-2004
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I don't want to get ahead of myself, knowing how the NFL is "On Any Given Sunday" but, with Watts injury we have a very good chance of being 4-0 with the Chargers coming to town in week 5 ... GO BROWNS

Does anyone know who is starting at QB for the Jets? Flacco or Wilson?

The bad news is Flacco has owned us. The good news is he stinks now.
Still, our Qb is not good either.

I remember years ago on this board(or perhaps the older board) we were all discussing how we would happily trade two 1st round picks for Flacco (That was the going rate for an upper tier QB back then) Despite his age, Flacco can still wing it. They are pretty deep at WR with several nice talents (Corey David, Garrett Wilson, Braxton Berrios, and Moore) Uzamoh at TE, seemed to always have good games against us when he was with the Bengals...Their Oline is perhaps the worst in the league, especially with the OT injuries they've suffered.
We def. should be winning this one, and it shouldn't even be close.

The last time the Browns played the Jetys, the Jetts won, the jets lines stunts on DL, really curfuffled the Browns OL, And I'm thinking, Does Kevin Stefanski only have one recipe for winning?
It's not that I think the Browns won't win on Sunday against the Jets, It's that I think they CAN"t win.
I. they are up on themselves too high on themselves from week #I 2. The Browns defense simply can't be as pumped to dominate a half plus like they needed to to have a 58 yd fg's chance to beat Carolina
3. The same with the Browns RB's they simply can't be as motivated to out rush the opponent by I50 yards.
4. @uarterbacks matter, and Flacco is the better 5 WR's matter, and I don't know about the Jets' but the Browns' aren't really hitting on all cylinders.
There is No Way the Browns win this upcoming game. AND, being an AFC game it' will likely, accelerate the date the Browns are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs this year.
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

As crazy as it is for me, I remember that game against San Fran. I remember begging my parents to stay up to watch it (and my dad was easy to convince lol)

The last time the Browns played the Jetys, the Jetts won, Wasn't that the game where every single one of our wide receivers and a bunch of other players were out with COVID?

We should win and we need to win. We really need to be 4-0 or minimum 3-1 after our first 4 games to have a real shot because our schedule gets significantly harder after that. Hopefully we can knock off Pittsburgh at home. After the Atlanta game the only game I see us winning is with the Pats before DW comes back. I know the " on any given Sunday" but man our schedule gets really tough. JMO

I’ve said this all along. Look at this stretch:
LA Chargers New England At Baltimore Cincinnati At Miami At Buffalo Tampa Bay
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

The bad news is Flacco has owned us. The good news is he stinks now. If we continue to have those breakdowns in coverage, Flacco will expose it. He is a vet and will recognize it. That needs to be cleaned up. Now.
How does a league celebrating its 100th season only recognize the 53 most recent championships?

That needs to be cleaned up. Now. No doubt. No matter the reviews on Flacco, he has a strong arm and is good at hitting he long ball. I am no expert on defensive coverages, nor really care to be, but it makes no sense to me to not have a deep cover safety. I may not have liked it a whole lot when Williams had Peppers about 40 yards deep, but I like that better than having nobody. I understand it may have been a communication issue, but I don't want those. I don't even want the chance. We can't have wide open receivers without having someone back there with at minimum a chance to tackle them.

With or without Watson I think we'll lose at minimum of 1 game vs Cincy, Balti or Miami. Sweeping divisional rivals is hard - and because we did it last year with Cincy probably means we are less likely to this year. I know you are down on Burrows - but they went to the SB. That isn't all fluke and chuck it up Chuck plays. Injuries to all tams will be the biggest single variable. I think we'll have as much chance to beat Tampa as we do Cincy/Ravens.
The more things change the more they stay the same.

Speaking for myself when I look at the schedule I keep being reminded how hard it is to win a game.
When was the last time we had a kicker win a game with a 58 yard field goal?
Now we are looking at the Jets like we own them.
Games in the NFL are close. A couple plays. Broken coverage and we almost gave away a game that we controlled for 4 quarters.
You play the schedule. The whole 1-0 thing is the only way to look at it. Last year NE beat the tar out of the Browns. We gave the Packer game away.
Lets beat the Jets.

Lets beat the Jets. I agree bone. Who knows how things will stack up once future games get here. I just look at the Jets at this point. Just win that game. I don't expect a explosive O at least until Watson returns, and him being off as long as he has, we may not get that at all this year. Every game is going to be close. Play solid D and take points when you can get them and see how things shake out.

From the beginning of the Panthers game till 6 minutes left in the 4th the Browns controlled the game completely.
And we damn near lost.
If we can clean up a few things on defense; we could be really good on defense.
I fall back on the term of "foundation football." Play good defense. Win the turnover battle. Be efficient on offense. Play to your strengths. For us the strengths are OL and runningbacks. Make your kicks. (Go Cade go).
If Jacoby can make a few throws that are there to be made. We can stay close in games.
If you can do that every game. You have a chance to win.

I agree with both you and Bone. Each game is a chess match on its own. You game plan to expose your opponents weaknesses and game plan to work around their strengths. Each opponent is different. As the season goes on both your and your futures opponent will suffer injuries that can change your strategies. Looking down the road and trying to predict where you will be in that progression is a very difficult thing to do.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Well, it is easy to do, but accuracy is a crap shoot due in part to some of the reasons you mentioned.

For some reason I think most people who hear a story that starts out "I was in a hotel in Bangkok, Thailand, at the age of 19" expects the story to end a little differently than that.
