I just don't think that those two teams are the best and I don't some computer can tell me that that game is the NC game.

The computer doesn't by itself -- the polls do 2/3 of the decision making. As long as you have less losses than everyone else (sorry, Hawaii), and/or the loss is early, you're gonna be ranked on that basis. That hasn't changed in 60 years of polling.

It doesn't make it "correct" -- it's just the way it is. And I think you might want to take a look at Ohio State's schedule over the next 12 years,...they play some very notoriously tough OOC games.

Gee whiz, I sure hope those programs are as good then as they are today,...wouldn't want to be called a scaredy cat,....

I have looked at those games. I love the fact that they are not afriad to play one big game OOC. I think if I remember corectly they are going to play USC for two years then Cal for two? Can't remember if there is soembody inbetween those two or not?? I think we will see less and less of these games though.

Cudos for Ohio State, and VTech is usually up for a good one early too. I think with an end year tournament each school would cut loose and play a big one. If all you have ot do is win your conference and you have a shot to win it all....than that early OOC lose will not matter. There will be those who still avoid it, it hopes of getting the auto bid.....But those teams are simply not preparing themselves to be champoins and will eventually lose to a team who is prepared and ready to win it all. I'm rambling again.

BTW...I'll throw another stone while were on playoffs..Somebody's got to tell Notre Dame they have to get in a conference, we can't make concessions for them in this tournament. I can see it now, if ND wins 3 or more games they get one of the automatic bids...

Just messing around....Kind of.

I was thinking about this (Notre Dame) when the "conference champion playoff bid" scheme was thrown out there.

Someone just posted a story on here not long ago in regards to ND and how they've rooked the current system - they are guaranteed BCS money even after their debacle of a season this year. They wouldn't stand for letting that "free" money go...let alone having to pay conference dues and abide by conference bylaws.

Personally I'd like to see them absolved into the Big 10 in the conference playoff bid scenario, as you'd have to do the same with all the other independents.

However, I would guess ND's common opponents - esp. the military academies wouldn't be happy about losing the ND from their schedules, where they get 40% gate in South Bend, and usually sell that game out in their home stadium because of the Nat'l draw that ND seems to posses.

True, but ND could rotate the Academy's...One year they play Air Force and Army, the next Air Force and Navy, then Navy and Army...Keep a rotation going. THey would have to keep SC as a rivalry game. If they did that and played a big ten schedule too...Then they would have a real schedule. Your right on though, they will never do it becuase of money....And the fact that they know college football will always cater to them.

I'm no Notre Dame fan by any stretch, but I hate seeing them be "bad" because it just isn't good for college football. They play as tough a schedule as anyone these days, discounting the Academies -- your idea about rotating is good, but they have played Navy since forever; the relationship between those 2 schools has a lot of historical significance that goes way beyond football -- I mean any year you want, the Irish already play USC, Michigan, Michigan State, and Boston College. All due disrespect to the Big Ten , that's 4-loss potential before two-a-days even start,....and you can't always count on Air Force being bad.

(Side note:) As tough as it is to recruit, I just wish they'd move all the military schools to 1-AA.

If Notre Dame is taking advantage of the knowledge that CF will always cater to them, they better start playing ball again.

The ND scheduling would be a problem. They would pick up Michigan and State most years from the Big 10 schedule...Then the academy would rotate. It is a nightmare, but a necesary one for the advancement of colelge football...Becuase you are right ND does need to be aprat of the national scene.

If they were to join teh Big Ten...Or east, either way it would help them in recruiting IMO. It is a good idea about the academies.

LOL wow

I made this EXACT same thing like 3 years ago. I even used the same terms like at large and stuff, its almost exactly to the T, actually it is just I didn’t have the schools that would fill in at the time. I have it on my old computer but it wont seem to upload, Jimromeisnotburining remembers me sending it to him haha so I have one witness. Yahoo should just be paying me I’m 3 years ahead of their writer’s haha

If that's true (which i bet it's not) you should have tried to patent it. Then you could sue that guy and be rich.
