Normally I'm against posting other people's material, but after reading this line in the Steelers/Fins thread... Quote:
They barely beat the Browns, they get beat by a weak Jets team, and then struggle against a terrible Dolphins team.
...I simply could not resist.
Credit goes to "burghermeister" for this gem. I thought it was great stuff!
* Miami is 0-11; say no more; they suck.
* As has been well established on this forum, the Steelers could only beat the sucky Dolphins by 3 points so they obviously suck as well.
* The Jets, Texans, Redskins, Giants and Bills also could only beat Miami, who sucks, by 3 points so they all, obviously, suck.
* Atlanta was trounced at home by the Giants, who suck, so they suck as well.
* The Niners have lost to the sucky Steelers, the sucky Giants and the sucky Falcons so they suck.
* The Rams lost to the Niners at home; they suck.
* Oakland lost to the suckful Texans at home; suckiness R them.
* Baltimore got whalloped by the suckful Steelers; they suck.
* KC could only score 3 points against the Texans (AKA The Sultans of Suck) so they obviously suck.
* Cincinnati has lost to the sucky Chiefs, the sucky Steelers and the sucky Bills, they wallow in suckiness.
* Carolina lost to the Texans; they suck.
* The Vikings lost to the Chiefs; Suck, they do.
* Da Bears lost to the lowly Vikings; they suck.
* The Eagles have lost to the Redskins, Giants and Bears, all members of The Joy Suck Club; the Eagles obviously suck.
* The Cardinals have lost to the sucky Niners not once, but twice; they suck.
* Hear a sucking sound? That would be the Saints who have lost to the suckers in Carolina, St. Louis and Houston.
* Denver lost to the sucky Bears and could barely beat the sucky Steelers at home in front of a national TV audience. Their suck rating is among the highest in the league.
* Tennessee lost to the sucking Broncos and were trounced by the Bengals; they suck.
* Detroit is much improved this year but they still suck; they lost to the Eagles, Redskins Cardinals and Giants all proven suckers.
* San Diego inexplicably lost to the Chiefs and Vikings; they suck.
* The Browns can't even beat the sucky Steelers given two tries; plus they live in Cleveland; they suck.
* Seattle couldn't even muster a point against those same sucking Steelers; stick a straw in them; they suck.
* Tampa Bay lost to those same sucking Seahawks, somehow giving up 20 points to a team that couldn't even score against the hapless Steelers; man, they suck.
* The Jags lost to the 'Aints and the Titans; they suck.
* The Colts lost to the sucky Chargers; they may be Super Bowl Champs but they still suck.
* The Packers, Cinderella story, dream season? Not so fast my friend. They lost at home to the sucky Bears.
* How bout them Cowboys? Sorry. Non sucking teams beat the Bills by more than one point and the Redskins by more than five. Jerry's kids suck.
* Finally, we have the 11-0 Patriots. Sure on paper they look good. But there is video evidence of their suckiness. Do non-sucky teams almost lose to the sucky Eagles with their backup sucky quarterback? I think not. Get on the suck bus boys. There's room for everyone.

If the game would have been played on a decent field we would be talking about a Steeler blowout.

All you had to say is "The Steelers suck." Then again you really don't have to say it because everyone already knows it.

This was a tongue-in-cheek post which I thought fit perfectly with the quote that I included with it.
It's funny how this always happens with every teams fans...any time a team loses, whether it's 1 loss so far on the season, 3 losses, or 5 losses....people develop the "sky is falling" mentality, and their team sucks so badly that they won't win another game this year. It's ridiculous sometimes.
Can you imagine if the Pats lost to the Eagles? The fans up north would be on a suicide watch right now.

I read the post, and you can't tell me the thought didn't enter you mind that OH CRAP we will be tied with the Browns if we lose. You thought it, and you can deny it all you want to, but the thought did enter your mind

No, it didn't.
You had asked me after the Steelers/Browns game if I was concerned about losing to them...and I fully admitted that I was. That's because I knew that the Browns were more than capable of putting up points FAST.
But these are the Dolphins we're talking about. The DOLPHINS.
The only thing I was concerned about was that someone would drown in that mess....

Chill out please. My only point in the other thread, the one you took the quote from, was that many fans were overlooking some tell tale signs that the Steelers are not the invincible machine that the media love to make them out to be. I live and work with Steeler fans, basically all my life, well since the seventies , and after I made the same point to them today, many got their panties in a wad just as you did. Funny thing was as the day went on the were talking about the very things I mentioned. Steeler fans are just as loyal as Browns fans, but success has been theirs for quite a while now. They have the hardest time when anything about their team is criticized. I get ragged on everyday, just for liking the Browns, so anything I say about the Steelers is taken as smack. Truth is I watch as many Steeler games as Browns games, and I love football. As bad as the turf was yesterday, the Steelers should have pummeled the Phins. Nobody seems to want to admit to anything, except using the conditions as the reason for everything. The browns get toasted constantly about their easy schedule, the Steelers don't. That crap gets old. The Browns win and it's luck, the Steelers beat the same team, and they are dominant. That gets old. Steelers having Oline problems and Ben getting sacked, that's new. The Browns have a good Oline and Anderson doesn't get sacked, that's new. Learn to deal with criticism, when your team has faults, we've done it for years. If you can't, well TS

Omg, are you serious?
You completely missed the point of the thread. I wasn't getting my "panties in a wad" as you put it. I read that line in your post in the gameday thread, and it reminded me of another of another post that I had read...so I posted it here. Fact is, you could have made that comment about ANY team playing in ANY game -- this had nothing to do with the Steeler game originally.
Read my comment above, how I said this thread was nothing more than tongue in cheek. This is the mentality of a NFL fan. THAT was the point of it. It was written by a Steeler fan, who was mocking this very mentality....which is the complete opposite of what you are accusing Steeler fans of doing.
Wow, this just completely went over your head. Holy cow....

Your transitive property method sucks so much.
You said Oakland lost to the Texans, who only beat Miami by 3, so they suck. Yet Oakland beat Miami 35-17. More than 3 points. So that would mean that Oakland sucks less than the Texans because they beat Miami by more, but Oakland sucks more than the Texans because they lost to the Texans. Quite a paradox.
What do you say to this: The Steelers lost to Denver by 3 points and so did Oakland, so they are equal. But wait, Oakland just beat Denver 34-20, so they are better than the Steelers.
Win, lose, or tie, Raiders 'til I die.
