Great feeling to have our WIN on Thursday night and we can bask in the glory of a stress-free weekend!!
Cincy at NYJ Baltimore at NE
It would be nice if one of them got upset
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I think both our division rivals win. We dominated the Jets and lost in almost miraculous fashion. Cinci has a good team. I also think New England's offense is terrible. They really miss McDaniels.

We have a very difficult stretch upcoming and it will be difficult to be .500 by then … beating divisional opponents or having them lose is our big hope

Man, Buffalo is going to be w/out 4 defensive starters against the 'Phins and have several others who are questionable.

I’m hoping that game becomes a shootout … tons of offensive weapons. It’ll all depend on how well Tua plays

Absolutely Pastor. I enjoyed Thursday night for all the obvious reasons but it's kind of nice to have a Sunday off with our Browns. We can sit back and have no stress for one weekend!!!

They use to keep injuries hidden...now if the kid plays they all have details about his ribs and DL will target them ribs - they did it with Baker and his shoulder. I hope they don't ruin the kid. We already are seeing Burrows falling apart similar to Luck.
Defense wins championships. Watson play your butt off! Go Browns! CHRIST HAS RISEN! GM Strong! & Stay safe everyone!

I hurt my rib cartilage skiing/falling a number of years back. It hurt like hell for weeks. Multiple multiple weeks. I can’t even imagine trying to play a contact sport in that condition.

I guess I'd much rather we face Chase Daniel on the 9th.
How that comes about, I don't care too much - be it Herbert not playing until the 16th or pressing it today and not being able to play us as we go into that difficult stretch.

The pre-game shows for Sunday's games.
Wow. about as corny as you can get. Mariucci howling with a stupid hat on. Waddling like penguin.
Terry Bradshaw, Glazer, Long, Jimmy Johnson, etc. on a mini field lining up showing a play. Bizarre not even funny at all.
It is all like a competition to say something to the camera.
I have to turn it off or at least mute the sound.

I haven’t watched pregame shows in years. Even the Browns pregame shows. It’s a bunch of ex-jocks thinking they’re witty or clever, while most often having very little conversation about actual football. They slobber over Dallas and the Giants regardless of how awful the teams actually are. Even after a Browns win most of them talk about why the opposing team lost more than why the Browns won. Then they use the Browns as a punchline while cackling like hens. Etc. Most of the pregame shows are just unwatchable in my mind.

the only play to fear on the ravens in Lamar. i mean good god i hate the ravens, but this O line is so damn horrible. should've been back to back sacks because the D line destroyed the ravens o line, but lamar spins out of a sack, then next play just takes off and races to the 1st down.
dude spun out of a sack, threw a perfect ball to andrews on the run, and he dropped it.

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

Miami is giving Buffalo a run for their money. Miami is a good team this year.
Detroit is surprising Minny.
Carolina is up 10 on the Saints.
The Jets are battling Cinci, and the score doesn't represent the fight at the moment. I think the jets are above average with Flacco and can hang with anyone.
Seems like the year of the underdog.

I have four games playing right now on the ticket.
Watching the Car/NO game is almost torture. The inaccuracy of both QBs has been nauseating. So many talented offensive weapons on the field and the missed throws have killed it on both sides. Olave has had a great game.
Davis Mills has looked good for Houston. Fields just doesn’t have any weapons.
Lamar has looked good. Mac Jones has looked meh

Crazy how a mediocre qb last year like Tua gets some weapons and all of a sudden is very good. Funny how that works huh Berry. Both LB corps in this game are soo much better than what we have. We need a Baker or Milano

Lookout for Miami. Allen just chucked that into the dirt missing open receiver for the TD.
Chiefs just absolutely fell into a trap game against the Colts. They looked bad all day from the players to the coaching decisions.

Allen would have been better served to fire that ball at the feet of the the WR.
WR should have just given himself up after the catch instead of running east/west for five seconds.
Wish I could have seen the whole game, but the Indy game was pretty exciting as well.

Hard fought win for the Packers. Bucs come up short on the 2 point conversion after Brady leads them 87 yards for the TD.
Aaaand...
The last two undefeated teams in the NFL are the Philadelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins. Miami has beaten the Patriots, Ravens and Bills. Hopefully they have a smackdown in store for the Bengals on Thursday Night.

This poor tablet never saw it coming.
we all felt this. That coordinator is a idiot. He played up to the camera. He wanted to show the viewing audience just how Angry He was and how disappointing the finish was How original of him. How phoney can you get

I didn't get to see as many games as usual. My freaking Sunday Ticket wasn't working. I spent the entire time on the phone w/multiple reps. I was beyond heated! It's the first time I raised my voice in ages. All I got for the first half of the 1:00 games were the local broadcasts. Bills/'Phins and Panthers/Saints.
I can't believe I read the word "choke" on here earlier. Anyway, the biggest stories of the Bills/Miami game were the injuries and the weather. People refer to it as humidity, but it is actually a high dew point that makes you sweat and leads to all that cramping. The Bills lost, but I thought they made a heroic effort in that crappy ass weather. Again, I don't think people from many parts of the country understand how zapping that weather can be. With that said, the 'Phins played very well. Two very good teams. The Bills are going to win the division, so Miami's win might hurt our playoff chances.
The Panthers/Saints game featured some of the worst qb play I have witnessed. Baker was below 50% yet again. Missed open receivers. Hardly threw for any yards except one of his receivers took a 2-yd. dump off pass and eluded tacklers and took it 65 yards for a TD. Winston sucked even though he put up a lot of yardage. Threw two more picks and missed throws. And his temper tantrum was embarrassing. Also, Kamara fumbled and it was returned for a TD.
Other games that I saw.
Too many injuries for Tampa Bay and Green Bay's receivers are not very good. Two very good defenses.
Murray came back to earth for the Cardinals.
Nice win for Atlanta even though they almost blew it by fumbling a RPO.
The Chargers coach is a dumb ass.
I saw Lamar in the 2nd half and the dude is amazing. He might be going for another MVP.
Philly looked good in the little I saw. Hurst has really improved.
Detroit lost another heartbreaker. Felt bad for them.
I can't remember much more right now because I'm still furious w/Direct TV!!!

Hopefully they have a smackdown in store for the Bengals on Thursday Night. Eagles have been my 'sleeper' team this offseason/pre-season. I think Jalen is going to have an MVP like season, they are primed to go far into the playoffs imo. Funny to read so many consistent complaints about the Chargers HC - I know Herbert has looked spectacular at times, but it seems like poor coaching is only an excuse for players posters like. When it's the Brown's and Freddie and Hue, no leniency was ever offered, in fact to point out how inept the coaching was got ridiculed as "excuses". In a choice between Staley, Hue and Freddie - it's not even a contest Staley is so far ahead of the others.
The more things change the more they stay the same.

Miami ain't no joke this year. Already beat Pats, Ravens, and the Bills with Bengals, Jets, Vikings, Steelers, Lions, Bears, Browns, and Texans coming up before their next rough stretch. I'd say there is a good chance they make the playoffs.

I bet the division is close between Miami and the Bills. Much of it may depend on injuries IMHO. They are well matched.

I am happy we didn’t trade for Russell Wilson. I didn’t want him in the off-season and still don’t want him.

I'd say there is a good chance they make the playoffs. Miami is the perfect example of not settling for mediocre coaching, It also shows that a GM that understands how the game is played now and gets those players. Can't say the same for Berry. Miami barring injuries will be going quite far. Their defense is what a bend but don't break is supposed to look like.. Give up a ton of yards but stop them from scoring points. If Buffalo doesn't fix their line they aren't going anywhere. Too much pressure on Allen consistently. Thats going to be a fun division to watch
Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. Comes into us at midnight very clean. It's perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands. It hopes we've learned something from yesterday. -John Wayne

He was a great QB. He’s still good.
But the main reason is his age, the assets given up for his age, and I feel his play will fall off quickly in the next couple years.

New ownership likely wanted to send a message to the fans announcing their commitment to bringing back a winner. Broncos are stuck with Wilson through the 2025 season when he'll be 37. Even if they release him (should his play really fall off) heading into the 2026 season, Wilson will have a dead cap hit of $31.2M. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/denver-broncos/russell-wilson-9885/

Yikes, I couldn’t remember if they extended him or not. Yea, no thanks to that.
Your reasoning is definitely sound. Sort of like when they brought in Peyton however many years ago.

A few notes from today’s games
- I knew Baltimore and Cincy would both win. Too much to ask for them to lose.
- LA and NE are not as formidable as I thought. La because of injuries, and NE also lost Mac Jones today. Hmm.
- Atlanta will be a tough game for us … they have 3 GOOD playmakers … that game scares me more than the NE game.
- Raiders move to 0-3. Talk about a bad start.
- Cardinals stink. I think their coach will be gone.
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Our power was out for two days and we had no idea when it would come back. Power flicked on at 3:15 pm my time (2:15 est) and wife was working, so I got to switch around a lot of different games today on NFL Ticket (sorry Vers hahaha).
Felt bad for the Lions because they might be a feel-good story if they can get some wins together. I like their coach, Campbell seems to be on top of things. Jacksonville rolled over the Chargers. Hiring a proven coach like Peterson was a smart move, an offensive-minded coach with a young QB like Lawrence. But their D looked really good today, fast.
Buffalo were missing a lot of starters today but still almost won, and probably should have - they were a dropped pick 6 away from clinching that game .
Lamar is so good, I wish he played on another team.

Atlanta can certainly put up points. Defense is, meh. Not a team to be overlooked.
Jimmy G just pulled a "Dan Orlovsky."

I am worried about Atlanta next week. Not their defense, but their offense. Woods has a tough task ..ugh

Atlanta really is playing loose and nothing is expected of them That makes for a dangerous team In some ways Don't look now but Drake London is emerging as promising Rookie WR. 16 catches and 2 TDs. Him and Mariotta are Developing chemistry. I know most Browns fans had this as a automatic win 5 weeks ago. Not so fast. There is no automatic wins in the NFL.

Jets are the worst team in the league. Browns should be 3-0. Woods is infuriating.
Vegas is a huge disappointment. Carr looks terrible, and he was pretty good last year. Adams looks like he wished he stayed in GB.

Like I said earlier, he'll collect that HC money, get canned and head back to his Belichick to resume coordinator duties. Belichik may make him start lower on the totem pole just to let him know who is boss.

Oh I got to mention Nick Siriani. Watch his initial presser after being hired and tell me if there was any possibility at all he'd be a good head coach.
Kudos to him and Hurts. The Eagles are fun.

Jimmy G reminding the country why the 49er's traded to get Trey Lance. i dont understand why people still try to hype this dude up.

he should be better than trey lance right now. he's been in the league for a while, has a lot of experience, and is healthy (at the moment). Trey is inexperienced, super raw and now injured.
Trey lance is still an unknown. Jimmy G is known. very well known.

Really gutless by Hackett there. You play for the first down, not to have SF burn their last timeout. Worked for them though.
Oh and Chubb with a huge play when it mattered. Want to see more or that from Garrett.

One team that looks unreal right now is Philly. Hurts and that offense is humming … and their DL flies around too.

no, he seems down to earth and really open about his positivity in life.
it only seems goofy to people who are used to most men acting like squares all the time, especially at the HC position in the nfl.

Miami is a good story, but Buffalo is the better team. They pretty much dominated the game yesterday. All of Buffalo's injuries were a factor, but they still would have won the game w/out the weather factor. I feel pretty confident that when it all plays out, Buffalo will finish above Miami.

Chargers coach is not the problem. Half their team is injured. Eve, I was talking about how he left Herbert late in the game when the score was 38 to 10. The coach also blew several games last year due to terrible decisions in which he ignored analytics and made them because he was "trying to prove a point to his team." He's an idiot.

Allen is what lamar is to buffalo right now, meaning they are completely reliant on the QB bailing them out of every horrible position EVERY single time. miami and buffalo are gonna play again this season, but its hard for me to agree that they are better than miami, especially when miami had a punt go off a blockers ass for a safety and STILL won.

On paper is such a cop out.. thats why they play the games.. Anyone watching the game yesterday sure didn't come away thinking Buffalo was a better team. They came after Allen all day and he couldn't do anything at the end. Their front 7 is pretty good at collapsing the pocket. With players like Hill/waddle/Gesecki, they can get plays when they need them. Almost all of Buffalos plays came off of broken plays where Allen had to scramble because his line is only good for about a second before it collapses. Allen is a great player but if they don't figure out how to keep him protected, its just going to be a matter of time. Miami is surprisingly well coached. My only concern with them is Tua, he makes a few plays but leaves a ton out there, Not sure how the game goes yesterday if Buffalo secondary was healthy, but Miami receivers are really good, especially Waddle. I think both teams will be battling all season, going to come down to who stays healthy I think

I get that and I agree that Buffalo asks so much of Allen. But, I thought Buffalo pretty much controlled the game. All that cramping and some odd plays changed things. Consider these stats.
Buffalo led in first downs: 31 15
Total plays: Buffalo 90----Miami 39
Time of Possession: Buffalo at 40.40---------Miami at 19:20
Total Yards: Buffalo at 497---------Miami at 212
I understand that the only stat that counts is the final score, but I think Buffalo is the superior team.

The thing that stood out to me about that Bills/Dolphins game was how inconsistently both teams run the football. Maybe I’m just used to our brand of football with Chubb, but the Dolphins would struggle to pick up 4 yards with their backs.
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Anyone watching the game yesterday sure didn't come away thinking Buffalo was a better team. That is not true. I'm listening to guys analyzing the game right now and they are saying the same things I have been saying.

I agree Buffalo is the better team. If we are basing the evaluation on who won then the Jets are a better team than the Browns. Does anyone actually believe that?
The Dolphins have a nice little lightning in a bottle moment going on right now. I don't think it will last.
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

I understand that the only stat that counts is the final score, but I think Buffalo is the superior team. i agree that they controlled the game between the redzone. but all that control doesn't mean anything if you can't finish off the drives. those stats say they moved the ball in the open field. those stats ALSO say they were extremely inefficient as an offense. lets remember, the only reason why the score was 21-19 was because of the punt that went off the blocker for a safety. without that play, the Bills have to go and score a TD instead of simply trying to get into FG range. but all those stats without the scoring says they would've got up and down the field, only to not score the game winning TD. Miami had the ball for 20 minutes, but they maximize their opportunities with that. IMO, the stats make buffalo's loss look even worse than it was real time. especially since those stats say it should've been a blowout. so look at the stats from a bigger picture, and it tells you one offense was far more effective and efficient than the other.

Outside of unforseen injury Buffalo is the best team in football IMO.
It is a long season that has just begun. The best teams lose games. It happens.
But if the Bills play the Dolphins in the playoffs. I would think the Bills would win that game.

The Miami head coach looks like a fish out of water, but his team plays well. I think their is trust building with that team. Great interview here listening to Hawk talk about Mike McDaniel when McDaniel was the Browns WR coach.

look, people can say that "he's off the team so move on" all they want, but we all know that as browns fans, we're gonna be paying attention to what baker does with the panthers this season, and possibly next if he's on the team.
dude was 12/25 yards, 170 yards, TD, with an 11.3 QBR.
man, not looking good.

Just updating: Bosa and Slater may be out a while for the Chargers. That’s a really tough break for them

Interesting.
It is popular to talk about innovation in football. The truth is. There is not much of it.
Most all of what is now has been done before.
Todays coaches were all mentored by the coaches they came in contact with. The techniques are recycled. The schemes are recycled.
There have been few real innovators.

bro i dunno why, but not personal just in football life, kyler makes me angry. i dont care what anyone says, i'm glad the cards tried to put that clause in the contract with regards to him studying. that's why guys like lamar keep leveling up while he doesn't on the football field.

man, not looking good. I'm in Charlotte and I will be interested to see how he does here - so have watched the game vs Browns and the game yesterday. Baker has looked bad in both games. I've seen him play much better - so some of it is defenses stopping what he does well, a lot of it is WR's and Baker not being on the same page, a lot of it is he is rushing and panicking, and in my personal opinion McAdoo is not calling plays to help Baker - to me one of Baker's strengths was the long ball to an isolated WR on a Go or Post route - I don't think I have seen any plays like that, everything is short/intermediate. The Panthers OL was flat bad vs the Browns they were ok yesterday. McCaffrey is great but it's a very different run game than the physicality of the Browns zone scheme. We will see how it goes - Baker didn't have a long period with the team before the season and he spent most of preseason splitting reps. . . . overall if you are Panthers fan you have to be concerned.
The more things change the more they stay the same.

is Rhule a big problem? like, starting to feel like a Matt Nagy situation. doesn't matter the QB, dude just wasn't a good HC?

Said at the time Jacoby Brisset was a lateral move on Baker in of itself and Watson can be elite.
All things equal, I think that's still true. I will say, Mayfeild SUUUUCKED playing the Steelers and Baltimore for that matter. Brisset not turning it over has proven to be a medium to big upgrade of Baker being a turnover machine against division rivals.

I don't know - he is widely criticized here, but from what I can gather he didn't have a OC that was worth a damn last year and was forced to take over and was not able to manage HC and OC roles. Not having watched Panthers games before I don't know. in Training camp the universal feedback was Baker looked miles better than Darnold and would be an improvement - we haven't seen that on Sundays though. Unless there is a strong of wins Rhule is certainly on the hot seat. Owner is notorious for quick trigger!

Brissett is doing damn well for us; especially for his history. He is literally having a career year thus far, playing WAY above what he's ever done at any other stop in his career.
I don't know what to make of that: either all he ever needed was to be surrounded by better talent and given the right scheme with a strong run game, or there is a very real probability that he will begin to regress to his mean. Once we face tougher defenses, that may well be what we get.
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

Swish - I meant to mention, Orlovsky did a breakdown of the Panthers second game ripping the coaching. (It might have been posted here?) - basically McCaffrey was lined up next to Baker on all the pass plays and he was lined up a step/yard back on rush plays ... it was a massive tell for the D. Not a good look for Rhule/McAdoo

man, not looking good. I watched quite a bit of their game yesterday. During the telecast, I heard one of the announcers utter something like there was talk during the week leading up to the game that the WRs were not running the right routes after Baker missed a WR by a long shot. The color guy said something like "that was just a bad throw." I wonder where that leak came from? It sure sounded awfully familiar, as does the talk about firing the head coach.

There's a great line from a good movie called the Devils Advocate Al Pacino says " Its fun to be right " It's fun to see the Browns at 2 and 1. And it's just as much fun to see Baker fail in Carolina The Browns finally have a real professional at QB. Not a child but a real pro I've never seen such a average QB stimulate such emotion Out of a loyal fan base such as Mayfield Every excuse was made for his porous 2021 year And it was excuses that didn't hold water

Fish out of water -- get it?? lol
I really didn't know much about him and ran across this... I'm thinking "wow, how did I miss this whole story line?"
Let's be honest, on the surface, he seems a little goofy. Goofy, yes, but that is without question the best and probably most accurate answer to the question.
Welcome back, Joe, we missed you!

And it's just as much fun to see Baker fail in Carolina Normal people call that being vindictive and nasty. Every excuse was made for his porous 2021 year And it was excuses that didn't hold water He was injured almost the entire season last year. You do understand the difference between excuses and facts, correct? There's nothing wrong with him now other than he is playing like crap.

You do understand the difference between excuses and facts, correct? There's nothing wrong with him now other than he is playing like crap. How are you in the great state of Tennessee? My buddie from childhood just caught a state record blue cat 118 lbs ...wonders. So back to Mayfield. Baker yes played injuried in 2021. But that injury had no bearing on his porous decision making Last year. Or his penchant for missing wide open Targets. He snookered John Dorsey into drafting him with His false bravado and Mr.Chip on My Shoulder mantra. I mean Dorsey was out of football for a year before Becoming Browns GM. He couldn't see that Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson was better options than Baker? Dorsey was studying film day and night on these QBs So now we fast forward to today Mayfield QBR is 32 out 32 QBs. And this is from a the number 1 QB drafted overall. Baker simply is a very average QB on good day. Take away that pass play from Sunday...he throws for barely a 100 Yards. Panther fans can't wait to move past Mayfield.

I have no idea what part of me saying he is playing bad you don't understand. How quickly people forget that he led us to the playoffs and a playoff win for the first time in 15 years. I don't really recall anyone saying he was a top NFL QB. In fact average what what most of us said. Maybe you are having memory issues?

Herbert has an injured rib and there are excuses about the pain he is in.... Baker had a torn shoulder and broken humerus and "it didn't affect his decision making" .... LOL. I'm sure that getting hit by 300lb DL while having those injuries didn't impact his decision making at all. Bottom line is that he's not here - the posters still talking about him are the haters. I still believe he's a top 15 or better QB in the NFL. He's not playing like it so far - but Panthers are a poop show right now. Lets wait till week 7 or 8.
