Tried to find previous concert thread but its gone, so I’m starting a new one.
Tonight after over 3 years of not going to live concerts, my daughter and me are going to Indianapolis to see Lilith Czar, Black Veil Brides, Motionless in White, and Ice Nine Kills. We are super excited. Love all these bands, Lilith Czar was a last minute add, such a bonus.
Buying tickets tomorrow to see Shamans Harvest, Any Given Sin, and Crobot here is Columbus in June, another killer concert.
I think I'll make it to Wishbone Ash in Tucson next month. Friend has an extra ticket.
Emmylou Harris is the only other one I'm interested in within a 100 mile radius. That's in August. I'd love to see her. A little pricey. Maybe make the trip with my ex.
I'm considering going to see Joe Satriani at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville in October. I saw the Tedeschi Trucks Band at the Ryman back in February. There really aren't that many bands and artists I care enough to see in concert left on my bucket list anymore. God knows I saw my fair share of them in my time. I'm sure I'll see Chris Stapleton at some point in the future but he isn't scheduled to be playing in Nashville this year.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.
Well we had a blast, everyone was great, daughter loved it. Nice easy drive 70 west/east was 77 mph basically the whole way. New Hyundai Elantra SEL got 40.2 mpg for the trip.
I’ve been hired for two festivals so far this summer. One is the bluegrass festival I always work. The line up is a who’s who of greats. Plus the addition of an Umphrey’s McGee Saturday night performance. The other is a festival in Vegas called Life is Beautiful… a festival showcasing a wide array of acts… that I’ve never heard of. Arctic Monkeys? Cage the Elephant?… I’ve heard OF Lorde but couldn’t name a song. At least last year they had Green Day headlining it so I had some desire to step out of my hotel room. This year it’ll be a weekend of people watching from my balcony.
I don’t have any other shows lined up… I’m busy working with a team trying to start a business. Very little time for non money making ventures right now.
Alt-J and Portugal. The Man tonight Elton John Tuesday Widespread Panic in Wilmington NC in May Dead and Company in Cincy in June Rage Against the Machine in Cleveland in July Floyd fest in Virginia in July Roger Waters in August NIN in Cleveland in September
Just got us tickets to see Memphis May Fire and Ashes to New at the King of Clubs here in Columbus. Pretty excited for this show. For $52 for two tickets, it’s a pretty good deal.
Got our tickets for Friday night of Inkcarceration in Mansfield. Gonna be a fun night, largest music festival we have been too. So excited to see Korn, Papa Roach, Three Days Grace, I Prevail, Daughtry, and so many more.
It was a good show. Paul isn't singing as well as he did, but he is 80 years old..It was more bucket list thing for my wife'
They played a great set of music.. Well worth it IMO. I mean, there was only one Beatles, and only four were in the band, and two are dead. The word legend gets throw around a lot but Sir Paul defiantly qualifies as such by most everyone..
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.
Just bought tickets to see I Prevail at the Agora Theater in Cleveland November 11th. My daughter has been waiting to see them be the Headliner, super excited.
Gonna buy tickets to see Beartooth and Silverstein in early August at Kemba Live here in Columbus, outdoor arena. Not as excited but it will still be a good show.
Well the Memphis May Fire/From Ashes to New concert Tuesday was really good. FATN was better and should have been the headliner. Ears were ringing all the way til Wednesday about 5:00 in the evening. Daughter and me had a blast, it’s always nice hanging with my 16yo, soon to be 17 Sunday.
Up next Friday Inkcarceration in Mansfield, really excited.
Going to see Beartooth, Silverstein, Devil Wears Prada, and Erra tonight at Kemba Live outdoors. Hope the rain holds off. Going to be a busy night in the arena district. Our concert, a Clippers game, and a Crew match.
Well last night could have went better. We understand people smoke weed but Jesus it was so bad last night. My daughter has asthma and weed pushes her to the limits. After the first three bands my daughter was in close to dire straits. I ask if she wanted to stay to see Beartooth. She said let’s try. I figured I would ask the people right around us to chill on the weed for awhile. You would have thought that would have been reasonable but they just laughed and got even more people to smoke and blow it at her.
A guy right behind us said come on dude relax, I told him my daughter was in bad shape just cut the smoking down. It escalated to the point where he was going to throw a punch. At this point my 17yo, 5’3” 110!lb daughter pushed the guy so hard he almost fell down. At this point it was either fight and go to jail or get out of the situation.
So I caught a security guy explained the situation and he moved us. Within 5 minutes of moving us they were wheeling my daughter to a squad, we have dealt with asthma for about 12 years, they wanted to squad her to the ER, her pulse was 177, but we convinced them she didn’t need that, she just needed fresh air and a breathing treatment, and to calm down, which they did. No ER.
After about 45 minutes she was cleared to go, we went back in for about 10 minutes and realized this wasn’t happening and we went home.
I realized my daughter will not back down in a tense situation, you never know until your in one what you or another person will do until your in. I know what I will do, and I now know what she will do.
Our concert days are probably over after this. It is sad because we both love live music. Other than getting her a really good respirator, and I dont even know if that will work.
Very sorry to hear about your bad experience. There are certain bands that I would still like to see but I'm not so sure about the type of crowds they would attract. As an example one band is Black Label Society. Considering their overall fan base I feel it might be a situation that would not be smart to place myself in. It's not that I'm afraid of a confrontation, but when it involves multiple people that certainly is a dangerous situation.
I'm not sure the range of your musical interests. I am at the age most of the bands you list going to see I haven't even heard of. lol But if you and your daughter have a wide range of interests I suggest going to see the bands that are more mellow. The type of music often times dictates the crowd and actions of people it draws.
Sad that it's come down to this.

We were on the lawn, the weed smoke was everywhere, we couldnt get away from it. Even when security moved us, it was just as bad there.
In Ohio, you cant smoke at baseball, football, and soccer games why can you smoke at concerts? My sister is an attorney and she is looking into this for us.
Well we went to another concert tonight. It was at Kemba Live here in Columbus. We had no problems tonight. Had great seats, daughter and me had a blast.
Next Friday we will be driving to Cleveland to the Agora Theater to see I Prevail and Pierce the Veil. Been there once before, should be an awesome show. We’ve seen I Prevail before but we were maybe a quarter of a mile away at a festival.
Well we just got back from Cleveland. We were at the Agora Theater to see Fit for King, Pierce the Veil, and I Prevail. It was a really good show, hope you some of the videos I’m posting:
Well we’ve got more concerts we are going to. 2 indoors here in Columbus. And flying to Phoenix for 1.
Saturday May 6th, The King of Clubs, Adelita’s Way and Otherwise.
Saturday May 20th, The King of Clubs, Amity Affliction, fastest band to ever sell out that place.
Sunday, Oct 8th, Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre — Phoenix, Arizona, Avenged Sevenfold and Falling in Reverse.
Avenged Sevenfold is one of my daughter’s favorite bands, they havent toured in awhile. So for a HS graduation gift I made the decision to splurge for her.
No plans for any music festival work this summer. Though that could change at any time if someone opens up their checkbook to pay us. I am going to Burning Man again this year. It has music, but it’s not a music festival.
Michael Franti is playing locally this summer. Might catch him with my girlfriend.
It’s looking like a quiet summer for me as far as music goes. We have three major art commissions going. All due between August and October. I’ll spend much of the next few months listening to the sounds of power tools.
