For the record, Ga and Kansas didn't even win their divisions let alone their confrence. I say put all their names in a hat , and draw out two. You will get the same results. What a mess.

Which further shows how useless these polls are. Ohio State will move up by not playing anybody and Georgia will fall because these pollsters now won't be voting for the two best teams, but rather simply looking to create the match-up they want.

I'm just happy Hawaii won.
That was just a GREAT comeback by them. There are very few teams that can turn the ball over, look really flat, get down 21-0 in the 1st quarter and come back and win. Anytime the little guy can buck the system, it's a good day for college football. The only shame in the entire situation is they don't get the opportunity to play for a national title. Hopefully they'll show well and the selection committee better not give them a bum matchup.

They should get a good match-up.... everyone in the top 12 is a pretty good team this year... I'd love to see them up against either LSU or Georgia. Think that would be a very high scoring game. I'm guessing they are in the Sugar Bowl... but who knows. Only 9 hours and change until we sort all this mess out and we have something more concrete to argue about

I mean your making fun of an area of this country that was almost completely destroyed by a natural disater, yes they might speak with a draw and use words differently but I don't think that was appropriate. Now I really hope LSU makes it and get's to play for their community, they could use the good vibes still to this day, I hope they make it and wish them the best if they do and will root for them to win. They can use the happiness with all the problems Katrina caused that whole area.
Here's to LSU making it, and winning it! Go Tigers.

Well... I take the philosophy that one of the Buckeye defesnive players took (can't remember who it was). He basically said that they were very happy they made the Rose Bowl... but if no one wants to play in the National Championship then we'd take it
I personally think whoever we play against we'll be an underdog... and I especially think if we play LSU we'll be a major underdog just because it's a home game for them. I think we can play with anyone in the country, but not sure we can beat them.... LSU has an unbelievable defense when they are healthy. I will say if we play LSU I hope we see a lot more of Flynn then that Freshman... we've had trouble with mobile QBs.

I've been reading everywhere that the Rose Bowl is going to pick Illinois. While it would be great for the school/program, I don't see how they deserve it when there's other 2 loss teams out there? I'd love to see them get in, as it's been a fun year watching them play over here in Chicago but I think there are other teams that are probably more deserving. I know the Rose Bowl committee prefers a Big Ten vs. Pac-10 matchup but preserving that tradition while screwing another deserving team goes a bit against the sportsmanship aspect of college athletics. The odd man out in this seems to be (10-2) Arizona State but we'll see how it all shakes out. There's a few teams that are eliminated based on the BCS rule that 3 teams from the same conference can't go but as it stands today, I would guess the 3 at large spots will be filled by Georgia, Kansas and Illinois/Arizona State. If Illinois goes, it probably means Michigan is going to get destroyed by the SEC #2. I think it would probably be Florida and UM in the Capital One. While I think Michigan is a little bit better then they showed the last 2 weeks, I don't know how they'll fair against Florida. If they can get everyone healthy, they can obviously play with most everyone but unless Henne's shoulder and Hart's ankle is 100% by then, I don't see how they can even keep it close let alone win.

If everyone calls it that, then why didn't I have an idea about what your talking about, plus I never heard my relatives call it what you did and they happen to live there, not sure what your talking about, but I do find it offensive as would many others even though you think you speak for the south.
Cute comment about me being on crack as well, how much more offensive can you be? You can laugh at my post all you want and that makes sense since your insensitive about how others feel.
I take it you meant it at a joke, but it's a bad insensitive joke.

I'm a huge college football fan. After watching these games tonight, crunching numbers, running the results through my supercomputer, here are my predictions for the BCS finalists:
1) Globo Gym Purple Cobras- This is my team: Blaze. Lazer. Blazer. 2) Mt. Union Purple Raiders- Bonus points for a second purple team. Most dominant college team in the country, easiest pick, by far. 3) Troup 406 of the Greater Saskatoon, Saskatchewan- A Canadian team! Unfortunately, under current NCAA rules and stricter immigration standards, game will be played in the mid-Atlantic Ocean (Turf provided by Heinz Field!). 4) Les Miles' School of Choice- Oklahoma State, LSU, and Michigan are front-runners for at-large bid. 5) New York Yankees- Steinbrenners see way of buying into a title race and pounce quickly. 10 year contract for $419 million. 6) Boston Red Sox- See Yankees make move, must mimic. 10 year contract for $419.5 million. 7) Scottsdale Community College Fighting Artichokes- Serious college, funny name. Spot could still be claimed by Big Ten school who has been idle for past three months. 8) Notre Dame Fighting Irish- This is the BCS we're talking about, after all.
Damn dude, the BCS is awful if that happens. They need to go to a playoff system!

One of my patients who passed away about a year and a half ago was a self proclaimed coon-ass... I took his parents out to dinner here in Houston and had to translate for Dad because the waitress had no idea what he was talking about because his accent was so thick.
I would say over 75% of the people I know from that area pronounce it 'n'awlins'. Really ain't that big of a deal.

because they didn't drop as far as a typical team would after losing to an unranked team at home... they are the media darlings this year... I'm really tired of hearing about LSU.... they are a great team, but still... they lost to Arkansas at home.

Personally if a team is ranked #1 TWICE and can't keep it they don't deserve to be in a title game.

I kind of had the same thoughts... I know LSU is a good team... but they were ranked #1 twice and lost... tough for me to justify them being in...
hell... put Hawaii in there!

Georgia also got blown out by a Tennessee team who couldn't beat an LSU squad playing with a gimpy all-american DT and a back-up QB. They also lost to South Carolina at home, which is a hell of a lot worse then LSU's Arkansas loss. Maybe everyone forgets DMac dropping 300+ on SC? The Bulldogs also barely scraped by Vanderbilt. Did they play well late? Sure but when you can't even win your DIVISION, let alone your conference, you don't deserve to go.
As for LSU losing twice as a #1. In the craziest season maybe ever, if we start disqualifying teams that lost while being ranked #1 or #2 who do we have left.
I don't see how OSU fans even have a gripe about who else may get in as well. OSU lost at home to an unranked team in their second to last game. If that disqualifies LSU, then why doesn't it disqualify Ohio State?

We didn't lose twice...
and I'm not saying that LSU doesn't deserve to win it... I just think there are arguements for other teams...
doesn't matter in the long run... more likely it'll be LSU and we'll get killed... here's hoping though.

You're not bad at making argument adjustments,... Give me your rundown on why Oklahoma should be 2 vs. LSU. I would ask to throw USC into the same comparison, but they lost to Stanford,....way above the level of Oklahoma's stub vs, TexasTech. And make sure you put their OOC games in there. This going to get really ugly with Hawaii at 12-0.

LSU barely beat Tennessee!! they got the INT for a TD, and that sealed it... offensively, I dont think they could have scored. Ainge made a bad throw to give away the game again after that. And I also think if Kentucky beat Tennessee, and Georgia played LSU, Georgia would have won.
but it doesnt matter... we could discuss this all day long, but we have nothing to do with the rankings. until then... im going to chill on this issue.

Call it BCS Armageddon. In the perfectly upsetting ending to the Season of the Upset, as many as seven teams head into Sunday at least within argument's range of the national-title game No. 1 Missouri and No. 2 West Virginia? Sorry, you had your chance. You're out, even though you'll probably still be ranked in the top 10. No. 3 Ohio State? You're the only one of the major conference champions with only one defeat, so you're in. That leaves pretty much everybody else in the top 10 worthy of consideration. Let's hear their positions for and against, leading to Sunday's 5 p.m. BCS announcement: No. 4 GEORGIA, 10-2 Second place in SEC East For: We were No. 4 this week, and when No. 1 and No. 2 lose, we should move up. We're probably the hottest team in America, having won six in a row, we haven't lost since Oct. 6, and we've looked good doing it. If we had a playoff system, we'd be the team nobody would want to face. Against: If you're so good, why couldn't you win your league championship? Not only did you fail to win the SEC title, you couldn't even win the Eastern Division. Only by an oversight of the BCS powers-that-be are "non-league champions" even eligible. Only once before has a non-league champion worked its way into a national championship game, and that 2001 Nebraska team would up being embarrassed by Miami, 37-14. No. 5 KANSAS, 11-1 Second place in Big 12 North For: We lost only one game, just like Ohio State, and we were ranked No. 5 heading into the week. Against: Sorry, you lost the only big game you played this season, and didn't win your own division or conference. No major college program played an easier schedule this year. No. 6 VIRGINIA TECH, 11-2 ACC champion For: We started the week ranked No. 6, behind two teams that didn't even win their conference championships, and among conference champions, we're ranked only behind Ohio State, so this should be an easy decision — we should play OSU in New Orleans. Saturday, we avenged one of our two losses of the season by dispatching Boston College in the ACC Championship game, 30-16. Besides, the whole country knows our first loss to BC was a fluke, anyway. We haven't lost since then, and blew everybody out along the way. Against: The ACC was not a strong conference this year, and in your one non-conference challenge, you were thoroughly dominated by the SEC champion (LSU, 48-7). At the very least, a team playing for the national title should not have lost a game by six touchdowns this season. No. 7 LSU, 11-2 SEC champion For: This is not a tough call. We won the toughest conference. We beat six ranked teams. We beat the ACC champion by 41 points. We overcame all the distracting rumors about our coach leaving for Michigan — which he isn't, thank you very much. And we even won the SEC championship without our No. 1 quarterback (Matt Flynn, who will be back for the BCS game). Yes, we lost two games, but so did everybody else in the mix — and both of our losses went triple-overtime. We've overcome the most adversity of any team in the country, and we deserve a chance to show Ohio State that we're the best team. Against: You are ranked this highly mostly because of reputation, not because you're a dominant team. You started the week ranked No. 7 for a reason — you had your chance, twice falling out of BCS championship-game position by losing (to Kentucky and Arkansas), and you ended the regular season losing to an unranked team. Take your SEC title and go to the Sugar Bowl and be happy. No. 8 SOUTHERN CAL, 10-2 Pac-10 champion For: We're back. We've got it going again since getting QB John David Booty back from injury (we didn't have him for our two losses). The only reason we aren't ranked higher is because the computers devalue our non-conference victories over Notre Dame and Nebraska. It isn't our fault those teams stumbled this season. Against: You started the week ranked No. 8, and it isn't reasonable to assume you'll jump all the way to No. 2 for just beating a mediocre UCLA team. Besides, you lost to Stanford, for crying out loud. No. 9 OKLAHOMA, 11-2 Big 12 champion For: While the media types were enamored with the gutsy little Missouri and Kansas teams, we bided our time until the Big 12 championship game and showed our stuff. Our only two losses were one of the season's biggest shockers (a 27-24 loss at Colorado and a Nov. 17 game when our quarterback, Sam Bradford, was knocked out with a head injury). He's back, and with him we're the best team in the country. Against: You had your chance. You lost to two unranked teams, and losing in the second half of November shows you aren't able to finish off your season right. What's more, the Big 12 was soft this year, built up by Kansas and Missouri and their weak schedules. That's why you were ranked at No. 9 going into this week — the computers have you all the way down at No. 12, so you don't deserve to get to No. 2. http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/story/7513842?MSNHPHCP>1=10734

Because 1 is usually less than 2,...??
Nobody's griping, just asking questions. And Illinois is not an unranked team. The season is a whole season. I believe in playing out the entire season before judging where/what a team WAS ranked when you played them. Illinois is now going to the Rose Bowl as the Big 10 rep -- what's that based on ??
