I hope Cooper is good to go, we really need him. It’ll be nice to have Njoku back, too, I read today he looked healthy at practice and should be ready.

It's probably similar around the league...but our ability to have players get hurt during the week is crazy.

I guess the silver lining is they are actually practicing instead of going through mental reps against air.

Rish...while I appreciate the physical side of the game as much as anyone..I do have to wonder how the hell the Browns manage to injure their top WR while practicing for the Bengals game..?

LOL........on some threads, the Browns are chastised for not practicing and on others for practicing too hard.

I don't care how - or if - they practice. I care that they are routinely softer than the other team and not prepared at kickoff.

If he can't go on game day that will be quite a disadvantage. I had hoped both Njoku and Cooper would be on the field this week. Hopefully that will still happen.

That would go against the narrative, commonly said, even on the post game radio broadcast, that the offense only works well, or best during the first scripted fifteen plays of the game.

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

Is Njoku still a Gametime decision?

The Browns offense was woeful, so far in the first half of the bengals game,
the offense has been a big problem for years.

It will interesting to see how they approach Conklin in the offseason. When healthy, he is one of the best RT in the league. But that is a big "when healthy".

It's marketing time. He's at the end of his contract here and approaching the end of his career... he and his agent will be starting the P.R. work for his last big contract.

I'd love for him to finish his career here because as you said, he is one of the best when healthy. Heck, even at 80%, Conklin is better than most anyone else we've put out there.
Whatever deal gets done, however, will be interesting to see because he hits the market this offseason, but he is still a $6 million cap hit in 2023 even if he isn't here.

Conklin is a shell of himself. Injury and age have done him in. I think we’ll plan to have another RT next season

Injuries might have but I'm not sure age. He's 28.

Thank goodness Berry doesn't put a high priority on quality LBs. I'm sure some of our numerous DBs can play LB.

It will be interesting to see how many other top players we can keep after Watson's deal. When I heard those numbers and the draft picks, I thought Berry had lost his damn mind. But I can definitely see Jimmy's fingerprints on all of this now because he has been too quiet. So I'd say resigning guys like Conklin will take very team-friendly deals to be considered. The browns seem to plan on drafting 2nd rounders for the holes in the next few years.

That's okay if our highest picks are only in the 2nd round the next couple of years. We usually don't draft anyone good in the 1st round even when we've had 2 picks in the 1st!!!! We pick better in the 2nd smile thumbsup

That's the only way to look at it. Think about it. Since we've come back in"99 the only guys we drafted in the 1st round that were consistently good for a long period of time were Alex Mack, Joe Thomas and Myles. We wasted JT's career, Alex had the smarts to get out and so far, we pretty much have done the same to Myles although we at least won a playoff game with him. PATHETIC!!!!
