Well, the Brits finally stopped singing! Fight changed in the 8th. After that, I knew Mayweather had it. Too quick for Hatton. Props to the Brits- man those guys never stopped. Passionate about their sports. GO USA!

I didn't think Hatton would get KO'd but I knew he was in trouble when I saw Floyd land three jabs in a row as Hatton was trying to stalk him down. The first 5 rounds that jab wasn't hitting and Hatton had good head movement, but from the 6th on Floyd was head hunting and hitting his pin point shots.

Was there something funny I missed?? I was hoping Hatton would win, he didnt, how is that so hilarious? I never heard any great prediction from you.

If a punk like Mayweather is a represenative of the USA I think I would rather root for the Brits.

Why is he a punk? I don't really watch boxing, but both times I have he has fought... Delahoya and Hatton, and both times he seems very classy and hes a good boxer. I enjoyed the fight tonight.

Did Hatton throw a punch that didn't land to the back of Mayweather's head ? I think I would have to agree with Teddy, Hatton wasn't even in the fight, and it was just a matter of time before he went down. Hatton only brawled and really never hurt Floyd. If you looked at his face you could see he was taking too many punches. The first knockdown , I think Hatton got up looking around the arena to find out where his head rolled away to.

the one thing I like about Floyd is how he always has his nieces and nephews around with him... I'm glad he keeps that part of his family close at least.

I'm not a Mayweather fan, but I gotta support my countrymen the way all of Manchester supported Hatton. He's not really a punk. He's cocky, but that don't make him a punk. And he's a hell of a fighter.

J/C Oh Riddler !! Riddler ! Closer than I thought it would be but the outcome was inevitable . Heck, Floyd even fought the fight that Hatton wanted and still his talent and skill won the day. Like Pretty Boy or hate him there is no way anyone can deny the kid is one of the best in the history of the sport . I've said it for years that Mayweather is the best and no matter who they stick in front of him he still remains UNDEFEATED . What other British boxer is there waiting in the wings for a buildup and then a crashing defeat.

Mayweather while he is a great champion... he ducks... gives his back... runs... etc... too much for me to give him that much respect. He's no Hearns or Haggler..
He put on a great performance last night... adapted and took Hatton out. But that referee was killing me... and I know he was bugging Hatton too. The puches to the back of the head were due to Floyd giving up his back... You can't do that and I don't know why the ref didn't take a point away from Floyd. Also the elbows on the inside were viscous... That ref is a complete moron all the way around... First 5 rounds he wasn't even letting them fight.

j/c One thing I was disappointed with last night were the British fans. I give them all the respect in the world for taking a long flight and flying halfway (well almost) across the world to see their guy fight, pack the house, and drown out the Americans. BUT I did not like the fact that they booed during the National Anthem. That, to me, is very disrespctful. You didn't hear us doing that.

Didnt get to see the fight! but from what friends tell me and the reports I have read it sounds like the best guy won DP017 - Unfortunately in England we have a number of idiots who constantly boo the 'oppositions' national anthem. This has happened for years when England play soccer, and unfortunately all it does is motivate the other person/team to win. I dont see Ricky fighting at this weight again. The lure of the 'big' names and payday made him go up a weight and in the end it was all too much for him. Will let you know my thoughts after I watch the fight.

True.

None at that weight. It does look like Bernard has quit running though as him and Joe Calzaghe had "words"....even though Hopkins reverted to flat out racism with his comments. I'm taking Joe on that one (not surprisingly )
So whats the sig bet terms?

It's crept into other sports and nations too. Not something i'm a fan of.

He struggled last time out at this weight but unfortunately as you say, thats the lure of the big fights. It's a little beyond him.
