He wasn’t a great husband, bandmate, and he would have agreed not a very good person through much of his life, but he was a gifted artist. There’s a doc out called Remember My Name. It tells a pretty rough story of his life.

Yeah I saw that doc a couple weeks ago. He admitted he screwed up majorly, many times, and alienated almost everyone he cared about.
Part of a legendary group though. RIP.

Sad to hear of his passing.

Recently I watched the documentary "Laurel Canyon."

DC was featured quite a bit. He was part of a group of talented musicians who lived there in the late 60's.

As part C, S,&N. their music will last. Great song writing and incredible harmonic sound.

He was "grateful" for his life. He used that word when asked.

RIP

I saw an interview Graham Nash a while back, and when the subject of Crosby came up, you could really sense some hatred there. They must have really gotten into it at some point.

‘Grateful’… Jerry Garcia credited David for working with the members of the Grateful Dead teaching them how to harmonize better as a group.

The unfortunate truth of life is that as we get older, so do others, and we lose so many of those whose talents we enjoy. This is only the beginning for my generation.

RIP David.

The documentary on Laurel Canyon was interesting.

I am fairly close in age. I feel like I grew up with them. I lived the same history. I lived in Berkeley when Jerry played damn near every night somewhere in town. That was around 71. Earlier I went to Mira Costa Junior college in Oceanside in 66 and 67. The time of Monterey Pop Festival.

My life was framed by that music. Music then was incredibly powerful. It influenced everything. Most people from that time were in some ways living the music.

It was part of daily life.

As you look back upon that time now. It proved how lasting music can be.

RIP David.

I am not sure if it can be characterized as unfortunate. It's just the truth of life. Father time keeps ticking.

R.I.P. David.

That was a time when those who had the exposure to express their views had something of value to say. At least some of them did. And while people may have disagreed with their message, nobody can say they didn't use their music to express themselves. Many songs of that era caused me to think about things in ways I otherwise may not have. Sending a message that needed to be sent. For that I am very thankful. I was 12 in 1970. As I grew up CSN and CSNY made an actual difference.

RIP David Crosby.
