In 8th grade my daughter made a plan. Get an associates degree while in high school, well she will finish 3 classes short in May when she graduates from high school. She would have finished it in the summer but last night her plan came to fruition when she got accepted to THE OSU. Cant take classes in the summer before OSU, OSU rule. She will finish 1st in her class of 450. Super super super proud of her.
Now we just wait for the scholarship offers. If none come, we have over $40,000 saved for her to finish her little over 2 years at OSU. We think we have helped set her up for life pretty good, along with her hard work.

Good job.
It's a pretty damn good feeling when you see a long term plan come to fruition. This isn't something you, your wife and daughter just hatched last year. It goes back to planning years in advance.
Well done Frenchy family!

Congratulations. what is she wanting to get her degree in and do? Actuarial Science, math, math, and more math. If she completes it, which I totally believe she will, she should start out making over $70k/year at an insurance company, Maybe up to $90k if she gets an internship and some experience before she graduates. Trying to talk her into government work, they start over $100k, but she would have to move or drive to Dayton, which she doesn’t want to do right now.

Congrats to you and your daughter. As a father myself I know nothing makes a parent happier than seeing their child succeed.

Wowzers! You are a success! Great parenting of a great kid! She will look back and see how lucky she was/is with this family. Feels great to read this kind of narrative. Medals for everyone for dedication and drive!

Kudos to you and your wife. And a big congratulations to your daughter. I have an 8th grader as we speak and while she’s a great student, getting set to be going to a great Catholic High School, I pray that she comes close to accomplishing what your daughter has. This is truly great news. Also, from what I’ve heard, Ohio State is really, really, hard to get accepted into. Awesome job as a parent, and awesome job by your kid.

She got official acceptance letter in the mail yesterday. So exciting. Since she has been accepted to OSU, so much more has opened to her. She did some stuff today online, and now she is being considered for 61 scholarships that she knew nothing about. Those to go along with all the others she has filled out, she should get a full ride. If not, by working at Kroger she gets $3,000 a year there.
Since we live inside the 25 mile radius, and she is basically starting out as a junior, she is staying at home. She will only be on the hook for $13,000/yr for 2 years. It will most likely be free.
