I guess it is nice on one hand that we live in times when people feel comfortable stepping up and showing us who they really are. They used to keep that $#!+ under the radar.

Read the thread about renaming Army bases. How some people think an army that murdered hundreds of thousands of American troops in a fight that supported slavery should be held in places of honor. If you can't see that, that's not a me issue. How one is even an apologist for the confederacy. It's clear as day.
Look at the states that are passing anti gay laws and banning drag shows. It's all painfully obvious.

The civil war war was a far more complex issue that "supporting slavery"
The combantans you deride were Americans and those that surrendered were given unconditional parole and sent home. You are glossing way too much to fit your agenda.

Not at all. The souths entire economy was centered around slave labor. And yes, to insure the nation move forward and become unified they were pardoned for any crimes they committed during the Civil War. And when Andrew Johnson did that it was highly controversial.
