My biggest takeaway from this is that it's an obvious problem. If it isn't an ethics violation, it should be. That it's yet another loophole in the system that needs to be corrected. It's obvious that this, if not a violation, is most certainly a way to influence the highest court in the land. I'm certainly not qualified enough to know for sure one way or the other if it's illegal or a violation under the current code of ethics. I do however think most everyone can see this is something that shouldn't be allowed.

My obvious takeaway is the trailer trash is trying to make a big deal out of something that it isn't important. Because....you know......it's about "sides."

I believe if both sides were respectful, reasonable, and willing to listen. We wouldn’t be so divided. But we don’t have that do we? We have one side expelling the other for wanting to make life safer for their constituents.

I would hope that in the future when you try to cover your ass for saying such things you warn the board in advance so we all have time to put our hip waders on first. Nobody wants to get that BS all over themselves.

I agree w/the first part of your post. I think there is trash on both sides that keep the hate alive. This board is represented mostly by the hateful left. Other places are dominated by hateful souls on the right. Both "sides" suck!

The rest of us have to sit idly by watching both "sides" pollute our nation w/their trash.

I think there is very little constructive discussion on this board. Even sensible reasonable posters fall into the habit of dismissing and or assuming what others think. Everyone is guilty of making flippant remarks, disingenuous remarks, put downs. You ignore some, I ignore some. I read an OCD rant and I don't think he's serious - I think he's venting. Peen talks about communism and it's become something of a joke to keep bringing that up - whether he truly believes his communist comments or it's just a way to make a point or score a point ... I have my opinion.

Using this board to label one side or the other in any way would be a mistake and just one more example of trying to score points.

All what I will say is that “friends with benefits” has taken on a whole new meaning.

Given the fact that they were not friends before Thomas became justice, this may not have broken the letter of the law, but it would not pass for an explanation in 99.9999999 percent of occurrences. So the spirit was violated.
