well, I understand that.. but the point still stands, noone comes out and right off the bat makes that sort of offer.
Even moreso when you consider things that might drastically change what it should be are yet to unfold, and thus what that offer would have to account for:
He *might* be a Pro Bowl QB... if he gets voted to go, that drastically bumps up his ability to demand more
He *might* be a playoffs QB... a good showing in the PlayOffs and his value goes up even more.
It is unknown how many teams might actively court him... if he gets into a multiple-bid situation, it's just like real estate... people can get goofy.
If I can see this, I'm sure his agent can see this and so can our FO. With that in mind, you'd have to jump MIGHTY high with your offer for them to forego testing that market even before he has several strong oppotunities to significantly boost his value.
DA just hit the lottery as he has a chance to play the Daily Double and make it grow.... it's NOT in his favor to take ANY deal right now.

No, your right, nobody comes out with the top offer right out of the gate..I'm well aware of it being a Negotiated offer.. give a little take a littlw.. You were taking me to literal.
As for things yet to unfold,, I wasn't really saying they should make that offer today.. Mort might have been, but I wasn't.
They should let the season unfold before offers are made.. they have time.. I'm sure they will use it.

Did anyone see OUTSIDE THE LINES today on ESPN.
I was at the gym on the bike and it was on the big screen TV far from me.
A lot about DA...saw Savage be interviewed as well as DA and JJ.
Saw a lot of shots of his home town watching the game all wearing #3 Brown Jersey's
Saw this pretty blond and some cover of playboy with her on it??? Looked interesting as all heck anyone know when there are replays...even if its 2, 3 am I'll watch...lol

It was on the ESPN pre game yesterday also.
Somewhat a fluff piece ..... but aren't most "human interest" type stories.
And yeah ... she's a playboy playmate ... and one of Derek's friends. (and, I think she said, friends with his wife also)

im gonna turn the tide a bit here...
with the Braylon thread made me think.
I really think that Braylon and DA have a rapport that really has made for a special season for both guys. Do you think that DA and Braylon have got something that would maybe get in the way of BQ and Braylon having a good rapport? I can see the difference between Braylon and Charlie and Braylon and DA.
Is this something to get rid of? or in the way of?
