I've never posted in the Political forum. That's worked out pretty well for me.

Posting in the political forum isn't a problem if you aren't thin skinned or easily triggered. But there are certainly those that post there who are. Some can't seem to separate what gets posted in there form other topics. They are so ingrained in politics anyone who disagrees with them there becomes their enemy. It's really stupid.

I don't know. I mean everyone has their own priority list when it comes to voting. I don't expect everyone to see things the same way as I do. I guess the reason I feel that way is I know a lot of people that vote differently than I do. They are good and wonderful people. I know they don't have some kind of evil intent in their heart when they vote. And then there's also the fact that I'm not happy with who I vote for most of the time. In most cases we're given two viable, electable choices and I'm not crazy about either one of them. If I'm not happy with helping elect them I can understand how people with a different priority list than myself could vote differently.

Pit yep, like he said we are buds. We don't always agree but but hell I don't even agree with my wife all the time and we have been together married almost 42 years. Frank I have not had the pleasure of meeting yet.

I have had discussions with some logical folks whose opinion I respect, and more than a few who are pounding out a number of illogical fallacies and hurtful, hateful "priorities" that are attacks to inflict will on others; these seem to require hurt and harm as well.

Point I would add to what you said here, and with which I agree, is how dissatisfied I am with most political candidates for some time. Many have agreed with me that it is not who they vote for ass measured by their qualifications and qualities. Their vote is driven by who they are voting against more often than not.

I can say I have met a good number of people at tailgates over the years, and hope to meet more. Some I have gotten along with here on the board, some not so much, but after standing around shooting the sheet I can't think of anybody but one I walked away thinking that person really was a jerk.

I can't disagree with you there. But there are extremists on both sides. Some are fueled by hate and anger. Some to inflict their own personal or religious version of morality upon an entire society. But by and large I think most voters on each side simply have a different version of what's best for America moving forward. I think the mistake a lot of people make is judging an entire party or group by the worst or most extreme elements within each group.

I’ve got blood relatives I no longer interact with over the same views you have. Many of us do. So there is that.
