I guess you missed trump trying to overthrow the election and how he held a rally with a bunch of people spewing hate speech and then actually telling them to go to the capital.

Of course he had to throw in the lie that he would go with them while he sat in The White House watching it all on TV while doing nothing.

Let me get this straight. This 14 amendment has been around since the 1860’s and trump is the leading Republican candidate in 2024. Wtf. It is repulsive how current republicans are "acting." They know who trump is. Yet the republican field is so weak they won't attack him.

They have one slim hope. All but one should drop out. Then all republicans should back that one person. And attack trump with everything. Go to republican states and close call states and try to force him off the ballot with 14th.

trump has no chance in a general election. There is no way he gets new voters. He will lose more women and Independents.

There is an excellent chance he will be a convicted felon. The document case is a slam dunk. Jack Smith has the cross-hairs lined up perfectly.
I hope he continues his threats to the judicial system. He may find his ass in stir waiting for the trial.

If I was a GOP candidate, I would start saying that there is only one candidate who cannot beat Biden and that is trump. Then I would transition it to a vote for trump is a vote for Biden. Then I would start a multimedia campaign flooding the TV, and every social media site with pictures of trump and Biden together. I am sure there are picture of the two together yucking it up. Each picture would be associated with the phrase - a vote for trump in a vote for Biden.

I said this in another thread, but I do hope that we get some sort of official ruling on Trump and the 14th. I'm really curious to see how our government treats that as these indictments move along.

They won’t do that. GOP candidates are too weak to call out a known criminal at large. They could get physically hurt. Ouch that could hurt. Snowflakes.

That's kinda what Christie is doing. Hutchinson as well. It doesn't look like either of those guys have a chance.

I have stated the mechanism before, any state legislature or attorney general would have to declare Trump ineligible and then it would wind up in a court for a ruling, and then it would either go state by state or to the Supreme Court.

No legislature has been willing to pick that fight, so all what we have is two yahoos with sheepskin on the wall pontificating.

If convicted before on any of the indictments. It probably will not matter.

The law is a funny thing. Even constitutional scholars can't agree on what the constitution actually says and means. So I'm certainly not going to try and say or interpret what a law such as this means. But on the surface it seems rather clear at least in part. Nobody on January 6th was charged or convicted of insurrection. Nobody was charged with trying to overthrow the government or treason. I do understand that people "feel and think" trump, the people in trump's orbit along with many on January 6th should have been. But from a factual standpoint they were not. That in and of itself would be a tall mountain to climb in order claim he isn't eligible to be president.

Oddly enough, back in 2007 or 2008, one of our speakers at the Washington DC event was none other than Rudy Giuliani, back when he was in the running for the presidency.

I don't find it odd that you were a member. I find it odd it sounds like you aren't any longer.

When ideology and actions dictate, some people recognize that and change course.

You might be right, but there are fools on both sides. We are in a Civil War now. It is just in the political spectrum at this point.

No matter who wins the election, the war will spread to the streets. The lines are drawn and each side is ready to fight. The breaking point is near. Stock up and be ready to defend yourself. It isn't going to be pretty and won't be over any time soon. Supply chains will be disrupted, people will start marauding the streets looking for anything to give them advantage.

Stock up on food, guns and ammo. You have to be able to eat and you have to be able to defend the fort. If not, good luck with that. Government isn't going to be of much help.

Trump lied to start this civil war. He can say what he wants, but he lost the election. Over 60 court cases lost. Those that support him in this are, in my opinion, traitors. Elected officials that support him in this, are IMO, traitors and all should be treated as such.

Being prepared to protect yourself and country isn't being a traitor. I believe that is being a patriot.

I've always believed that. One should always be prepared to combat a disaster and defend themselves, their family and their home. As I've always been taught. "It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it."

Hopefully we will never reach a point that we need these things. But if or when that point comes, I will be ready for it.

But back to my original point, the battle lines are in place. They have been building for 20 years or more. I think the whole Covid deal was the tipping point. It isolated all of us.

It's smart to stock up on food, water, and guns/ammo. You never know when a natural disaster or other catastrophe will happen. It doesn't take a war to shut a city down. My town has been shut down before as a result of things that happened a thousand miles away (hurricane). The oil refineries were knocked offline and there was a gas shortage in the ATL for a few weeks. Try going a few weeks with no gas and no supplies. It's not fun.

I view it as a threat. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.
