Why can't our laws be much tougher on crime and illegals in the first place and try to prevent a 10-year-old from getting raped rather than worry if she can then kill a baby!!! Democrats make the rain and then cry it is raining!

What do illegals have to do with children being raped? Has the threat of the death penalty decreased murders? How were criminal penalties increased when trump was president? Do you ever really investigate anything or just yell "democrats!" every time something bad happens? Incest and rape have been going on forever no matter which political party has been in power. Your rant makes no sense to any thinking person.

This from the United Auto Worker President pretty much says it all-especially the last line

Trump will speak to those non-union workers instead of attend the second GOP Presidential Primary debate. UAW leadership does not support Trump's visit, with UAW President Shawn Fain releasing a statement last week saying in part, "Every fiber of our union is being poured into fighting the billionaire class and an economy that enriches people like Donald Trump at the expense of workers." Fain told CNN this week, "I find it pathetic irony that the former president is going to hold a rally for union members at a non-union business."

I still can't believe that he was dumb enough to hold a rally at a non union plant.. What may be even worse, is that his advisors let him do that.

It's been his MO all along.

He won't show up to the debates because he can't control the optics. He''ll duck and dodge.
He won't take interviews that won't lob him softballs. He'll duck and dodge out of those, too. On those rare occasions that he does, it never goes well for him.
It makes sense that he'd show up at a scab shop. He was given zero welcome or invitation by the actual striking workers, and was more than willing to grab a cheapazz photo-op at today's equivalent to Rudy's 'Four Seasons Total Landscaping' photo-op faceplant.

If it's the puss move, "Donald Duck" will play it. Bet your bone spurs on it.
His pathology has been on public display for 40+ years. He's nothing, if not patently, pathetically predictable.

His advisors are hand-picked by him and his neuroses.
Of course, they're gonna say, "Right, boss! You're smarter than all the rest of us, boss! We should do exactly what you wanna do, boss! We're loyal worker bees, boss!"

Did Donald Trump pay actors to attend Michigan rally? Sign holder makes confession
Question marks over the real backgrounds of supporters appearing in Michigan were raised after it emerged one attendee held a union-backing placard - only for it to be found they did not belong to a union.

Donald Trump makes bizarre claim about windmills during speech
Questions have been raised about Donald Trump's rally crowd in Michigan yesterday after a supporter holding up an autoworker union sign confessed they were not a union member or an auto worker.

The former president was delivering a speech at Drake Enterprises, a parts supplier in Clinton Township, Detroit, in which he addressed workers' concerns over electric vehicles.

His appearance came as the United Auto Workers continued to strike against Ford, General Motors and Stellantis', with Trump telling attendees: "You can be loyal to American labor or you can be loyal to the environmental lunatics."

But, it later emerged that not everyone present at the rally was exactly who they said they were.

Donald Trump speaks to attendees of his speech in Michigan (Image: GETTY)
A journalist from The Detroit News made the trip down to the rally and began speaking with those in attendance - including one who held a "union members for Trump" placard.

During a discussion with the reporter, though, it appeared the sign holder was not even a member of a union, and another holding an "auto workers for Trump" card was not employed as an auto worker.

The event, estimates predict, was attended by around 500 Trump supporters, with Drake Enterprises boasting a workforce of around 150.

Trump's speech came less than 24 hours after his Democrat rival Joe Biden, who beat him in the 2020 election, visited Michigan, with the Republican nominee hopeful describing him as someone who "serves the billionaire class"

‘F— off’: Gaetz’s inescapable feud with McCarthy grows more hostile

The Florida conservative leveled several unproven accusations at the speaker in a private conference meeting Thursday morning.

Speaker Kevin McCarthy and Matt Gaetz’s bad blood has become inescapable on the Hill.

The Californian and the Floridian’s personal animus is spilling into private meetings, prompting conspiracy theories and eliciting f-bombs from other House Republicans – severely disrupting the party’s frantic bid to coalesce around a government funding plan.

The speaker and his most vocal GOP foe got into a heated exchange behind closed doors Thursday morning as Gaetz accused McCarthy of hiring a “proxy” to attack him online via conservative social media influencers. McCarthy’s counsel had sent a cease-and-desist letter to the individual in question and the original post doesn’t mention the Californian, but Gaetz continues to claim the speaker is involved.

“I asked him whether or not he was paying those influencers to post negative things about me online,” Gaetz said Thursday, when asked about his clash with McCarthy during the private meeting.

McCarthy responded, according to Gaetz, that he wouldn’t waste his time or resources on the Floridian. Gaetz downplayed the confrontation, adding: “My blood pressure is like 120 over 80, so I’m feeling great.”

Other House Republicans recall the Thursday meeting differently, though. When Gaetz nodded to conspiratorial claims by suggesting that the speaker was fundraising for House Republicans via a bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange, one McCarthy ally got irritated enough to curse.

“[censored] off,” Rep. French Hill (R-Ark.) remarked loudly and with an eye roll in Gaetz’s direction, according to a Republican in the room who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Gaetz’s animosity toward McCarthy is the worst-kept secret in the House, but their tense relationship began affecting the entire House GOP more than a year ago — when the Floridian vowed to nominate former President Donald Trump for speaker.

That clear message of no confidence in McCarthy translated into open resistance on the floor throughout January’s speakership election. Gaetz never cast a ballot for McCarthy, remaining one of six conservatives who – only after 14 failed rounds – agreed to vote “present” in order to let the Californian claim the top gavel.

Gaetz even mocked McCarthy as a “squatter” in the speaker’s office in a letter to the Architect of the Capitol in the middle of that January balloting marathon, referencing the fact McCarthy had moved into the speaker’s physical office in the Capitol before he was elected.

Since McCarthy became speaker, the two men’s relationship has only curdled further.

Gaetz has become the most vocal conservative about a potential vote to oust the speaker — his name was even attached to a resolution declaring the office vacant that a reporter found in a Capitol bathroom — and two weeks ago, he took to the floor to declare McCarthy “out of compliance” with agreements made to win the speakership.

Immediately after the Thursday meeting, Gaetz brushed off questions on whether he was ready to force a vote to boot McCarthy from the speakership. The Floridian has warned that McCarthy is “very likely” to face an ejection vote if he works with Democrats to fund the government.

Despite the clash, Gaetz said his focus is still on passing funding bills.

“Right now we’re going to get individual, single-subject spending bills passed,” he added. “That’s my principle goal.”

McCarthy has hurled his own accusations back at Gaetz at times, even as he shrugs off the threats with “Matt is Matt.” The speaker alleged to reporters earlier this month that Gaetz was working against him alongside Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) and referred to frustration over an unspecified ethics complaint.

That comment by McCarthy is a likely reference to the House ethics panel’s still-open investigation into the Floridian, stemming from a now-closed Justice Department inquiry into sex trafficking allegations. McCarthy allies have claimed this has fueled the hostility towards the speaker — a claim Gaetz allies deny.

Thousands Sign Christian Petition Condemning Pastor's Election Threat

A Christian organization has launched a petition criticizing comments by former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee and calling on a religious broadcasting network to take action against his remarks.

The petition, which was created by the Faithful America Christian organization, says that Huckabee recently made comments about former President Donald Trump and the charges he is facing in Georgia.

"After Trump was indicted on criminal charges by a Georgia grand jury, Huckabee—a Southern Baptist pastor and former Arkansas governor—claimed on his talk show that the legal proceedings were an attempt to 'destroy Trump in the courthouse rather than at the ballot box,'" Faithful America said.

Huckabee this month spoke about Trump's Georgia indictment in which he is charged with violating the state's Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act for alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 election in the state.

During a show on the Trinity Broadcasting Network, Huckabee criticized President Joe Biden, saying that the indictments against Trump were a planned attack and said, "If these tactics end up working to keep Trump from winning or even running in 2024, it is going to be the last American election that will be decided by ballots rather than bullets."

The petition created by Faithful America calls on the Trinity Broadcasting Network to "take action to prevent the airing of conspiracy theories and threats in Jesus's name." The petition also notes that the Trinity Broadcasting Network was called "America's most-watched faith network" by Nielsen Ratings.

"As Americans and as your siblings in Christ, we reject these false accusations and threats," the petition said. "Instead of partisan hatred, authoritarian fear, and political violence, please direct Governor Huckabee and other on-air TBN personalities to promote Christ-like love, hope, and peace."

In a statement to Newsweek, Karli Wallace Thompson, Faithful America's digital campaigner about the petition, said: "Implicit threats of violence like Huckabee's have no place on 'America's most-watched faith network.' The reality that he and others like him refuse to face is that Trump was indicted four times in accordance with the law by regular Americans fulfilling their civic duty with integrity, bravery and wisdom."

"So it's time for him to condemn the violence, or he needs to be removed from TBN by the network's leadership."

As of Wednesday, the petition has garnered more than 15,000 signatures with a goal of 20,000.

Huckabee is not the only Republican to criticize the indictments of Trump, as former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin made similar remarks in August.

"Those who are conducting this travesty and creating this two-tier system of justice, I want to ask them what the heck, do want us to be in civil war? Because that's what's going to happen," Palin said during an interview with Newsmax, adding that "we do need to rise up and take our country back."

Extreme House Republicans’ Chaos Is Marching Us Toward a Government Shutdown

While President Biden continues delivering for the American people, extreme House Republicans are consumed by chaos and marching our country toward a government shutdown that would damage our communities, economy, and national security.

Instead of following the bipartisan example of Republicans and Democrats in the Senate, extreme House Republicans continue to demand a reckless laundry list of partisan proposals as a condition of keeping the government open—from an evidence-free impeachment that even some of their own members don’t agree with, to reckless cuts to programs millions of hardworking families and seniors count on, to a litany of other extraneous ideological demands.

Just three months after threatening to default on America over their partisan agenda, extreme House Republicans are back at it again. Their latest 30-day continuing resolution is just more of the same—a shutdown bill that doubles down on extreme, partisan proposals that can’t pass the Senate and will never become law. Their bill not only makes devastating, indiscriminate cuts to food safety, education, law enforcement, housing, public health, Head Start and child care, Meals on Wheels, and more—it also fails to provide the urgent funding President Biden requested to support disaster-struck communities, counter fentanyl trafficking, support Ukraine, provide critical food assistance for pregnant and post-partum women and young children, and avoid disruptions to FAA air traffic operations.

Just had my briefing this morning about potentially loggin on Monday morning, signing a form, and then being forbidden from doing work until the appropriations pass. What's crazy is that if someone does work without appropriated funds, they face civil and potentially criminal penalties. One dude during the last shutdown sent an email out. GAO nailed him for about $11 of work. Reported to Congress and the President. Crazy stuff.

If McCarthy wants more votes for his proposals, maybe he can throw in fund appropriations for the House members to receive Beetlejuice tickets with Lauren Boebert.

House GOP members seek to expel Gaetz amid renewed threat to vacate House Speaker McCarthy
Danielle Wallace, Jacqui Heinrich, Chad Pergram
Sun, October 1, 2023 at 12:01 PM EDT·4 min read

House GOP members are preparing a motion to expel Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., amid his renewed threat to pursue a motion to vacate House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.

The House Republican members will seek to expel Gaetz if the ethics committee report comes back with findings of guilt, Fox News has learned. One member told Fox News the report is mostly written but does not know what it contains. Yet following threats to vacate McCarthy, the member said of Gaetz, "No one can stand him at this point. A smart guy without morals."

It takes a two-thirds vote to expel. And Republicans are treading on thin ice with their majority. The House is down to 433 members. It’s unclear where things stand with federally indicted Rep. George Santos, R-N.Y. If you were to have members expelled, retire or die, the majority could be right on the edge for the GOP.

During an appearance on CNN Sunday morning, Gaetz said he planned "to file a motion to vacate against Speaker McCarthy this week."

"I think we need to rip off the Band-Aid. I think we need to move on with new leadership that can be trustworthy. Look, the one thing everybody has in common is that nobody trusts Kevin McCarthy. He lied to Biden. He lied to House conservatives," Gaetz told CNN "State of the Union" host Jake Tapper. "Kevin McCarthy's goal was to make multiple contradictory promises to delay everything back up against shutdown politics and at the end of the day, blow past the spending guardrails he had agreed."

Rep. Matt Gaetz says he'll pursue a motion to vacate House Speaker McCarthy.
In response to that motion to vacate, McCarthy said, "I’ll survive."

"This is personal with Matt," McCarthy said, according to ABC producer and reporter Ben Siegel. "Let’s get over it, let’s start governing."

But on CNN, Gaetz insisted he was not pursuing McCarthy's ouster over personal matters.

"This isn't personal, Jake. This is about spending," Gaetz said Sunday. "This is about the deal Kevin McCarthy made. If Kevin McCarthy didn't want to keep the deal to return to pre-COVID spending, if he didn't want to keep the deal to have single subject spending bills, not vote for government spending all up or down at once, then he shouldn't have made that deal. So this is about keeping Kevin McCarthy to his word. It's not about any personal animus."

The House Ethics Committee has been investigating Gaetz since 2021 on allegations, including campaign finance violations as well as claims of taking bribes and using drugs – accusations the congressman has vehemently denied. Gaetz also denies allegations leaked from a Justice Department sex trafficking probe said to have involved an underage girl.

In a statement to Fox News Digital earlier this year, Gaetz's office confirmed that "the Department of Justice has confirmed to Congressman Gaetz’s attorneys that their investigation has concluded and that he will not be charged with any crimes."

"If Kevin McCarthy is still the speaker of the House, he will be serving at the pleasure of the Democrats. He will be working for the Democrats," Gaetz said Sunday. "The only way Kevin McCarthy is speaker of the House at the end of this coming week is if Democrats bail them out now, they probably will."

"I will make no deal with Democrats and concede no terms to them. I actually think Democrats should vote against Speaker McCarthy for free. I don't think I should have to deal with that."

Such a gambit to try to bounce a speaker in the middle of a Congress is rare. Former Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., threatened to use the tactic on House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, in the summer of 2015. Boehner saw the writing on the wall and resigned that October. The House last saw a formal effort to remove a speaker in 1910.

As the House currently has 433 members, if all members vote for someone by name in a speaker’s race, the successful candidate must receive 217 votes.

It’s unclear how many Republicans may vote against that secondary motion to table or refer. McCarthy’s move on government funding has inflamed many on the hard right. And it’s unclear if Democrats could potentially assist McCarthy. Some McCarthy opponents on the Democratic side of the aisle may vote with Republicans wanting to bounce the speaker. Others may not participate in the vote at all. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., has said Republicans must solve this civil war on their own.

Also on CNN's "State of the Union," Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., said Sunday she would vote to recall McCarthy.

It has become quite the civil war.

Interesting choice for Democrats. On the one hand, they could help McCarthy and potentially rid the house of one of - if not THE - most despicable representatives. If they stick up for McCarthy, I could see them tacitly negotiating an expectation that the vote would have to coincide with a motion to expel Gaetz, which is apparently something more and more Republicans are contemplating as well.

On the other hand, McCarthy is been no friend to the Dems either. He has gone back on his word and his stances quite frequently, all going back to J6 and continuing through budget, authorization and appropriation negotiations. It already took 15 votes just to get HIM in the role. If they support the motion to vacate and oust McCarthy, they would put the full dysfunction of the GOP on display for the country. The fallout of that would be massive. Might not have a speaker for the rest of the term... which would make the end of the 45 day CR even crazier. I might not work until the next election in that case (joking).

McCarthy has already sold out to dem values over MAGA. Dems can get rid of theat MAGA bullies are using to handicap the government via the speaker position. I don’t care about McCarthy, but dems sticking with him against Gaetz and company would be a finger in the MAGA eye. I prefer that.

I'm not one bit surprised by your comment. When one looks under a microscope instead of through a telescope it's hard to see the big picture. One of the rules passed is that a single congressperson can bring to the floor the call to have the speaker dismissed just as we saw Gaetz do today. They can make such a proposal as many times as they wish. If the Democrats help him retain the speakership, he will constantly have to negotiate with the democrats on some level or be removed. If he is removed the house may be dictated by a MAGA extremist. The house has a majority of republicans. As a result a republican will be the speaker of the house. All you are proposing, to put it in language I think you would approve of, is that you seem willing to trade the devil you know for the devil you don't know. And if you're a democrat I would think having the devil you know depending on you to keep his job would be considered a tactical advantage.

Gaetz files motion to remove Speaker McCarthy from leadership position
Savannah Kuchar, USA TODAY
Mon, October 2, 2023 at 7:10 PM EDT·1 min read

WASHINGTON−Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., introduced a motion Monday night to remove Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., from the top position in the House.

His motion comes after a contentious week of negotiations to avoid a government shutdown, during which Gaetz had previously threatened to oust McCarthy if the Speaker looked across the aisle for support.

Shortly after Gaetz moved to oust him, McCarthy gave a succinct statement on X, formerly Twitter: "Bring it on."

Hours before Saturday's midnight deadline, McCarthy and Republicans put forward a temporary deal to fund the government through Nov. 17. The stopgap, known as a continuing resolution, received bipartisan support in the House, with 209 Democrats and 126 Republicans voting in favor.

Gaetz confirmed his intent to file the motion to vacate Sunday morning, telling CNN "we need to rip off the Band-Aid" and "move on with new leadership that can be trustworthy."

"The only way Kevin McCarthy is speaker of the House at the end of this coming week is if Democrats bail him out," Gaetz said.

Gaetz's motion to vacate needs 218 votes to successfully remove McCarthy.

McCarthy defended his actions in the face of Gaetz's challenges, telling reporters Saturday, "If I have to risk my job for standing up for the American public, I will do that."

Gaetz had an easier path to file this motion, thanks to McCarthy's own concessions at the start of the year. In exchange for votes from hardline House Republicans for his speakership — and to put an end to days of voting — McCarthy allowed House rules to say that any one member of either party can bring forward a motion to vacate.

Wonder what the Dems will do. Will they vote "Present" or vote "Aye"?

Interesting to see the fate of a speaker in the hands of another party when his party has the majority.

Travis Kelce Bud Light Sweepstakes Ad Sparks Backlash

Travis Kelce has been criticized for once again collaborating with Bud Light, as the beer brand faces ongoing calls for a boycott.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end featured in a promotion for the Bud Light sweepstakes, in which he sported a diamond chain and bespoke beer can pendant. Bud Light shared the video of Kelce holding the chain up and smiling toward the camera, but some anti-LGBTQ+ conservatives weren't happy with him.

Bud Light has been under fire since March when it celebrated transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney's gender affirming transition anniversary by sending her personalized cans of beer, not for sale to the public. The brand also hired Mulvaney to promote its March Madness campaign.

"Two words: Friendship. Chains. Tag a 21+ friend with #Sweepstakes in the comments for the chance to win a pair of these," Bud Light captioned the post on social media.

Some people on X, formerly Twitter, were not impressed.

"No f***** way! Kelce being the biggest sellout of 2023 was not on my bingo card. Hope Chiefs lose every game!" tweeted one person.

Another added: "Shame on you @tkelce and go out of business @budlight."

And a third wrote: "And Kelce goes super duper woke. A dress coming soon."

Those unhappy with Kelce may have failed to realize, not only has Kelce previously worked with Bud Light, but he has been a long-time supporter of LGBTQ+ rights.

He appeared in a Bud Light campaign in July, months after the Mulvaney controversy began and previously said he would support any teammate who came out as gay.

"Anybody in this world [can play]. I'm comfortable with who I am and I expect everyone to be comfortable with who they are. I respect people for their views and opinions," Kelce told Outsports in 2017.

Kelce, who is rumored to be dating Taylor Swift, is no stranger to facing heat for his "woke" campaigns, and he was recently criticized for encouraging people to get a flu shot and COVID vaccine.

The Kansas City Star supported Kelce's decision to stick with Bud Light and continue supporting causes he believed in, despite their unpopularity online.

"Tying his reputation to a brand that has been the target of a widespread boycott takes courage, a character trait Kelce often exhibits on the field. In Kansas City, we learned some time ago Kelce was fearless: Over the course of his 10-year, record-setting career in the NFL, we've seen him run over hapless defenders with regularity. Kelce is never one to shy away from contact," the newspaper wrote in a recent editorial.

LMFAO

1st time in US History the house removed the speaker! DEMS REFUSED TO SUPPORT MCCARTHY, MAGA voted him out. GOPers are in total disarray. Popcorn moment.

Dems are hoping GOPers will follow through and remove Gaetz and several other MAGA members from the house. This is going to be good. It’s time for the showdown at the okey-dokey MAGA corral. Trump is winning.

I never thought about a one-two step of both McCarthy being ousted and Gaetz being expelled. Definitely hoping for the latter. When the CR ends in November, I may be on mandatory leave until the end of the year since the House can't elect a speaker now, pretty much.

What's funny, if you believe what the GOPers are saying, it's all on the Dems for not voting for McCarthy....

Trump as speaker of the house would be so horribly hilarious I almost need it to happen.
