How come nothing was said about the Judges Ruling yesterday. How come nothing was said about the 91 felony counts on Trump last night.
Instead, they were worried about $50,000 worth of Drapes in the State Department offices?
I thought Tim Scott was the smart one.. I guess not.
Come to think of it, why weren't the candidates asked to comment on the Ruling and the felony counts?
Softballs all around.

I know you want everybody to talk about Donnie, every minute of the day. For most Americans he's not as much of an addiction as here at DT.

I'm honestly asking because I only saw snippets, but did they address those issues that much? The part where I tuned in was when DeSantis of all people interjected with the phrase "Can we talk about issues that are important, please?" leading me to believe it went off the rails on stoopid stuff, but I can't say that with certainty.

They talked about all of those issues. Just not at any length and not with any flow because of how these debates are handled. Haley and Scott were more interested in non-stop attacks on Ramaswamy. I really liked Haley before last night -- she showed her psycho side.
I do not understand why these debates are moderated the way they are. Really, just a microcosm of Washington itself... always searching for complex solutions to simple problems. "Class, class, CLASS! Please quiet down so everybody get's a chance!" How about a row of mute buttons. You get a 15 second warning, then your mic is cut.
That and the "he mentioned my name so I get a chance to respond" bs makes these things nearly unwatchable. Then the grandstanding and straying from the subject... Pence has not answered a single question, or even come close, in either debate.
Hard to watch.
Desantis, Ramaswamy and Christy did well with staying on subject and providing real answers.

Yeah, electing a crime boss to run the country again after all we know now isn't an issue. He claims he'll pardon those convicted for Jan. 6th. Wait a minute, that's not an issue. He said plainly he will come after and prosecute his political enemies and he bases that on nothing else. Yep, not an issue. He said Mark Milley should be executed. Let me guess, not an issue?

So that's what candidates hoping to eliminate him should debate about? That's what normal, non-obsessed Americans want to listen to? They called out Donnie all night long, that should have been more than enough for your tireless, never-ending TDS. Nobody but Trump trolls think people want to endure a debate about Trump's indictments.

i understand that at this point, everybody up here is fighting for 2nd place and/or making a bid for VP.
that being said, this was embarrassing. everybody tried to be a hard ass like Trump, and all it did was make most people even more turned off by this clown show.
nobody separated themselves from each other. and the responses to the UAW strike....lol, once again its like the GOP is trying to lose.

So that's what candidates hoping to eliminate him should debate about? That's what normal, non-obsessed Americans want to listen to? I do believe that the average American does care about those among other things. I find it hilarious that you think someone needs to be obsessed to care about a potential president being involved in all of this criminal activity. That the same person is saying outlandish and crazy things like the death penalty for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. I don't think the entire debate should center around those things. There's plenty of time to mix that in among other topics. But yes, I don't think anyone has to be obsessed to understand that if you're trying to win the nomination over the current front runner, showing how bat crap crazy he is and that he's not only been indicted by one grand jury but by four on 91 counts, that might be a great way to help you accomplish that. Unless of course you think that half or more of your base wants bat crap crazy and you might alienate them. Which makes one go hmmmm.. And let me explain something to you. You see it on this very forum. It's not the people who bring it up and make a thread every time trump gets indicted. It's not about the people who report all of the crazy, hateful, inciteful things he says that's the problem. That's worthy of discussion. What we see is the people on the right refusing to address it. Refusing to even touch those topics and then blame those who do with being obsessed because they wish to blame those people for trump doing all of that rather than hold trump accountable for his own actions Let me clarify this for you. We aren't the people who do these criminal acts. We aren't the people who made crazy claims like pardoning those convicted on Jan. 6th. We aren't the people who have called for Mark Milley to be executed. And yes, those things are more than worthy of being posted and discussed. It's those trying to shoot the messenger rather than address the message that have the problem.

And let me explain something to you. No thanks. Not even reading that ish or getting dragged into some stupid argument about Trump. Explain it to your dog... or other members of your circle jerk. I'll say it again, nobody but those with TDS are watching the debate hoping they'll talk about Trump's indictments. Most of us are watching and hoping one of these fools can replace him. I have no idea what you and yours will talk about then -- I'm sure you'll go through withdrawals and the normal seven stages of grief. Not my problem, not my conversation. Get your last word, and have a Trumpy-Trump day.

Nobody wants to hear the truth when confronted with it. None of you blames trump for the things he does either. You only blame the people that tell you about it. Speaking if ish.
You call accountability TDS. It's who you and many others on this board are. Blame the messenger. It's sad and disgusting all at the same time.

Amen, the debates are theater---the real issue is does the Republican Party put a Psychopath up as their nominee for President of United States. Also, a real scare is he has millions of admirers. Real scary.

Thanks. I have yet to see Pence answer a single question in just about any debate. He evaded more than any politician I’ve ever seen. Disappointing about Haley. I had seen her as the least of the evils on the panel.

^This is how I feel. If Trump can be on the ballots, he’s their nominee. Damned if I’m wasting even a second on that ish show. Every election since 2016 has been about slapping down the far right extremists. They are slow on the uptake or they would have figured this out by now. But nope, doubling down on stupid is the new anti-woke.

Yeah, he just said Mark Milley should be executed a couple of day ago. In some twisted world it's the fault of the people talking about that instead of the person who said it. Maybe we should call it Trumplandia.

There is nothing I would like more than for trump to go away and disappear from our tv screens/radio/social media I would love for candidates to talk about real life problems and offer thought out solutions
Unfortunately, the republican party has made trump their leading presidential candidate, so he cannot be ignored He is a blight on society but republicans keep pumping him up
So why do the other candidates not talk about him? Because they are afraid of being called names They are afraid that the trump-ets won't vote for them (Clue - are aren't voting for you anyway)
If a republican presidential candidate isn't strong enough to stand up to trump, how are they strong enough to stand up the the rest of the world's leaders?
Am I perfect? No Am I trying to be a better person? Also no

Not showing up for a debate, hiding, ducking, bobbing and weaving.. If a republican wants to win the nomination, they gotta go through Trump. So if that's not a note worthy subject, I don't know what the hell is.,

On one hand, I agree. On the other hand, how much should one comment on ongoing litigation? They're rather in a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. The volatility of the whole Trump topic on both sides of the aisle makes it hard to predict how a stance one way or the other on Trump would effect votes. If they call out Trump, they aren't likely to gain votes from Democrats and are likely to lose votes from Trum-pets. Sadly, political expediency is the name of the game.

They aren't going to gain any votes from trumpets no matter what they say. Those voters are locked in no matter what trump says or does. It doesn't have to be narrowed down to litigation. Just last week he said Milley should be executed. The crazy that comes out of his mouth gives them plenty to discuss. The facts surrounding Jan. 6th in and of themselves give them plenty to talk about.
With trump being the front runner, if you plan to win the republican nomination, you will have to make clear and distinct differences between yourself and trump. You will never be able to do that if you leave him out of the discussion.

You will never be able to do that if you leave him out of the discussion. If Trump is in prison, he won't be the nominee. I have a feeling even if he's not, he may be "coerced" to withdraw from the race. It'll be interesting to see how that void potentially gets filled. The crazy that comes out of his mouth has hopefully exceeded what even that party can stomach.
