Consistency. I don’t know if we’ll get that on offense this week with the ???’s hanging over Deshawn but the defense is proving pretty consistently awesome!
I’m struck that every game so far this year has been kind of a surprise.
Actually win a season opener? Maybe. By 3 touchdowns against a legit playoff hopeful and rival? Surprise!
Lose ugly the very next game to a pretty marginal Steelers? Surprise!
Blow the doors off the Titans? Surprise!
Have our rookie QB start last minute in a humiliating home town beat down? Surprise! (I actually kinda felt this was gonna go this way but still surprised it was that bad coming off the Titans win)
The very next game, coming off the bye (when we historically suck) some PJ guy gets promoted off the practice squad and we beat the best team in football? Surprise!
And now the colts. What the hell to make of this game? Wouldn’t it be refreshing if, coming off a great win we just played a good football game on both sides of the ball and won another one convincingly? I mean hey, the lack of whiplash would kinda be a surprise!
It’s a good thing I’m not a betting man because I’d go broke this season.

**Checks Hunt and Ford rushing props**
At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

- No turnovers on offense - 2+ turnovers on defense - an improvement in the penalty department - the defense to continue to play well - the offense to be more consistent
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I'd like to see us contain JT. This is his third game back and, although he hasn't done much, I suppose could pop off at any time. I think we can handle Minshew but don't want to give up the big plays that can hurt us.
Indianapolis tends to give up a lot of yards against the pass, so I hope Watson is back because that might be THE area to attack against this IND defense. They give up more yards at home than on the road, but that is to be expected since they play in a dome.

Somehow, they're going to suffocate our offense. We're doomed... 'cause "Browns".
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

I want to see us make Minshew's day miserable.

A friend sent me a NBS sports article titled "Deshaun Watson said he is not sure he will fully recover from his shoulder injury in 2023" It is no longer on the site as far as I can tell. hmmmm

a rotator injury is basically the worst case for a QB

Just our luck it will probably derail our season and waste what a good defense we have. Browns luck at its finest.

I want to see Joe Thomas next to Bitonio
with Nick Chubb in the backfield and Watson handing the ball off to Nick and not Moore LOL
I honestly would like to see a little bit of DTR, just to see
Would like to see Ford have a really good game
JOK in the Middle
More of the WR core

If P.J. plays I’d like to see him eliminate the INTs, run a little more when the opportunity is there but be smart about it. I’d like to see him slow down a little bit, use his eyes to move DBs around.
Their big man on the DL is out so let’s lean on them in the run game. Get Njoku involved early, that’s something we haven’t done imo.
On D, just let the usual hellraisers do their thing. Lotsa three and outs.... you know, the usual. If our kicker keeps kicking it straight, that’s a bonus.

I'd kind of like to see more of Strong in the Moore sweep role. Or just more Strong in general.

I'd like to see them not let down, and demolish a team they should demolish.

More of this, too:
Myles Garrett: “we know we can bang with anybody”
Denzel Ward: “we have zero tolerance for disrespect”

I am just going for simple here, no injuries and a win. IT can be 30-0, but I won't get greedy.

a rotator injury is basically the worst case for a QB I thought it was Tim Couchs' elbow injury, c'mon it can't be Both.
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

I also want to see more discipline from our guys by FEWER PENALTIES! We had 13 penalties for 119 yards in the last game. In Steeler game we had 8 for 81 yds. Titans game we had 5 for 46 yds. Ravens game, 6 for 55 yds. I know the officiating wasn't the best in the last game but jeez, with 3 or 4 fewer penalties against us that game could have been a more comfortable win.

Denzel Ward: “we have zero tolerance for disrespect” This is something that often times people get confused about. Respect is a thing that is earned not given. If there was any doubt in anyone's mind, the game this D played against San Fransisco means they have earned that respect.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I just have a hunch about Strong based on very few carries..... Strong seems to have a bit more oomph to him, but who knows about his pass pro, catching, etc. Ford has been just OK ... he leaves some yards on the field IMO

Word is the 49ers were staring us down in pre-game and running into out half of the field during warmups

What I want to see in the Colts game?
Clean football. No killing penalties. Win the turnover game.
On offense this week play conservative. You should not always play conservative but in this case. Yes.
The defense will give us another chance.
Don't try and play hero ball. It is ok to punt with a defense like we have.
The offense has to be efficient. That means don't dig holes with penalties. Keep down and distance manageable; no negative plays.
There are always plays opposing defenses can't cover. Make the plays that are there. Be smart with passes. Take what is there. Don't force things.
The beauty of this defense is 3 and out. We will get our chances. Protect the ball.

No game is a given.
The Colts have won three games that includes beating the Ravens.
The Niners found out that teams will show up.

I certainly agree with you. I do however believe it will be easier for our D to keep Minshew in check than it would be to keep Richardson in check. Much like Lamar, Richardson he is a pretty slippery QB. Unless of course Gardner unleashes Minshew Mainia on the Browns.

I wish I could feel confident.
I never do. I have learned not to. Every time I do. I get reminded. Don't.
That is why it felt so good to beat the Niners. I was thinking we have a slight chance.
We have lost games that looked in the bag. That is the worst.
Minshew has at times played well. Last week 3 picks and fumble. He is probably going to be super conscious of turning it over. They are at home.
They have two good running backs and will try to run the ball. They know the pressure we can bring. If we can get them in 3rd and long.
We should do damage.
On offense be conservative in this game. Don't force things. Let the defense give us our chances on offense.
This is a fast field. We need to use it to our advantage. Play possession football and move the chains.

If you garnered an ounce of confidence on my part about a W from my post, my apologies. That's something I certainly do not have. I'm simply looking for reasons to find hope that the Browns have a chance to win. Which I believe they do.
