If only he was good enough to play while implementing a similar game plan we used for Seattle. Use a healthier Ford a ton sprinkled in with Hunt and Strong. Use that run game to set up some PA for shorter routes. Implement the screen game frequently. Call some creative plays Stefanski has a knack for. There is always the risk of further injury but I guess no one knows how much he is healed at this point in time.

Clearly, I'm trying to be as optimistic, but it might be best to sit him again.

why do I get the feeling there is a PR campaign to temper people's expectations on when he'll be back??

I think this has always been the case since the realization that he couldn't go vs SF ... it's like an airline dragging you out with delays instead of just saying "The plane won't take off today everyone"

So basically Watson is out for the foreseeable future.

The defense seems to be caving under the pressure of having to carry the team.

And we are starting Walker over DTR.

Because there is a PR campaign going on that is trying to temper people's expectations on when he'll be back.

There is zero evidence that would suggest DTR would be a better option. Or even as good.

Absence of evidence isn't evidence of absence.

The only way we'll see "evidence" is if they let him play.

Unfortunately, we have a growing supply of evidence that would seem to suggest that Walker isn't a good option. I suppose another bad outing against a bad Arizona team could put the nail in the coffin.

There is something to say for "stability" and time on task, but I'd have rather stuck with DTR in the first place as he had had more time in the system. I think we pulled the plug on him too soon. We never gave him an opportunity to bounce back. I think leaving him to stew on his first bad outing after short notice is more detrimental than giving him opportunities to learn and grow even with the risk of struggles.

Belief can have a profound positive effect upon people. The appearance of a lack of belief can have a deleterious effect.

Only in Cleveland can there be a QB controversy with 2nd and 3rd stringers. SMH!!

There have been similar controversies recently with the 49ers and Jets just off the top of my head. Raiders, too.

They did let him play. The results were horrendous. If someone is going to complain that a different QB should be starting, they should be able to make a case why that is the better option. None of your word play will change that.

Side Note: Fall is BEAUTIFUL in Cleveland. Just look at that background.

I have a baseball background. Shane Bieber lost 2+ months of the season this year to elbow inflammation.

The deal is elbows and shoulders can be problematic for people who throw. There is no real timetable for when those heal up. The historical data is pretty wide ranging. It just happens when it happens.

I’d start P.J. this week -actually if we started DTR I wouldn’t be upset - and give DW another week, unless he’s ready NOW. Who knows. They’re all doing a ‘good job’
